Thank you. I'll be here all week.
Seriously, I like to run this during tournies to track the standings so people can reference them to see where everyone stands as the week goes on. |

Updated for tuesday's game. Its looking very good for Samantha with her nearly all in bet.

Bonny and Forrest become the first two eliminated.

Kennedy and, to some lesser extent, Emily are going to be regretting not going all in, considering how well the contestants are doing this week.
We'll see. |

I don't think $8,800 would make it anyway. Bonny has the biggest FJ regret so far this week. Picking the wrong duelist will cost him a spot in the SF. The spot he lost may well go to Emily.

Obviously Bonny would have been better off if he had wagered zero since he got the question wrong, but pre-getting it wrong, should he have gone all in?

My biggest problem with his bet is that by wagering an extra $535 he could have covered Emily and increased his chances of getting a wild card. I guess he was trying to be cute by going for a total of $16,666, but his demonic wager will doom him to the purgatory of non-qualifiers.
I don't think betting zero would have helped him. He'd have $10,400 and be on the bubble right now. But he had no way to know what he needed to get. I'd have to see what the average cutoffs are in teen tournies to say if standing pat with $10,400 is a good idea. |

So in tournament quarterfinal wagering, if one is anywhere below, say, $10,000, and the leader has a lock or crush, is the best option always to go all in?

Am I right in saying Lindsay has a spot locked up? She can't do any worse than 3rd.

No, if everyone in the next two games has a higher score than her, she would be the fifth seed in the wild card standings and wouldn't make it.

A Wild Card spot can never be locked before the end of Thursday's (or whatever the 4th day happens to be) program. |

Well, if somebody tomorrow finishes DJ with a score of zero or lower, then Lindsay would qualify before Thursday's show was over.

(Granted, if that situation happened, Lindsay would know if she qualified 5 minutes sooner than she would normally have, but only five minutes sooner (the length of Final)) |

If someone is knocked out before DJ, then the game will still be going on while Lindsay has qualified.

Emily becomes the first to miss a SF spot due to bad wagering on FJ.

So Lindsay and Solomon have locked up wildcards, Rachel and Samantha are still alive, while Bonny, Emily, Kennedy, and Forrest have been eliminated?

Correct.
