I agree they are different. Variety is good.

She has a unique way

...of getting people to spill their guts and then not mind at all that they have done so.

I've seen shows where I think a person had a big story all worked up to tell in court. By the time Judge Karen is done with them, they've either told the truth and owned up to their bad behavior or she has them so confused that they can't remember what they've already said.

I love it when either the plantiff or defendant are right in the middle of a really juicy, raunchy story about the other party and she takes in a big breath acting so surprised and says, "Is that right? Now wait just a minute, let me ask HIM (or HER)." At this point the other party sees how interested Judge Karen is in his/her story that they just can't wait to tell her all about it.

She catches them off guard by asking them to talk about themselves when they had actually planned to talk about how horrible the other person is. And then, of course, they either start getting to some semblance of the truth or can't keep their story straight.

Harvard Law Student---

I just saw a case "Birdcage- a husbands betrayal".

We sat down as a class and looked and this case. And at the end it was evident that Judge Karen is biased and perhaps homophobic. She was prejudice towards the gentleman because he was a closeted homosexual for the 20 something years he was married.

Judge Karen:
"Don't tell me that you didn't lie to her, I know the vows you broke."

We came to this conclusion based solely on the following observations:

Each time the plaintiff had no proof with respect to the receipts, she would dismiss his claim, however she went on the woman's (defendant's) word for the amount she thought it everything was worth and awarded her the amount she said with no proof.

Completely biased, no justice, unfortunate that such a seat belongs to this Judge Karen.

birdcage - from a str8 wifes point of view...

I disagree with the above poster. The guy established a pattern of lying, and subjecting his wife to a horrible life with no regard for her well being. Anyone would easily recognize a heterosexual man who did this as an abuser of women, and not contest the pattern of lying. But gay guys want to get some kind of a pass for this. No way. It's not about the orientation, it's about the behavior.

My personal experience as the str8 wife of a closet queen is that when it comes to stuff, something has to be done with it, and they decide not to decide, thus keeping control over you. They get a life, and you have to check in with them. They get to move on, and you are stuck with the stuff - and LOADS of anger, feelings, and no place to move on to. So she was right to cut him off. No more spin. Get real. Totally out of the closet, and admit what you did to her.

I got tremendous support from the Straight Spouse Network. This valuable resource can be found at www.straightspouse.org.

In real life, I didn't find a judge who would cut off the harrassment I endured until my ex dragged me to the appellate level - over custody (joint legal wasn't good enough for him, even though he never actually did anything to raise our children) and stuff, of course. At that point, a judge mentioned the damage his relationship with another man had done to our son (the guy was going after the 13 year old, but no one would listen to me about it) and suddenly he was all ready to settle, after 4 expensive years of hellish harassment and domination of me and the kids. We weren't people to him, just objects to be arranged in his compartmentalized life.

Thanks, Judge Karen. Glad to see at least one more judge "gets it" instead of pretending not to, in order to be all Polically Correct.

I will say that she does seem biased. I agree with that 100%.
