Is this movie going to finish filming in time for the SWG and SAG strike?

Hey everyone. I just bought this topic up right from the bottom of the pile.
No idea what it's about though!

When filming started, there was an actors strike over pay of extras in films.

I do not know what the state of play is now with that issue. I think it may have been resloved, as they seem to be still producing movies.

except in Canada.

So I guess all our Canadian fans can shift the topic to Canada and post their thoughts, eh?

That's funny because I thought the strike was over royalties and commercials.

Go figure!

hello?! both strikes reached agreement and a new contract months ago. doesnt anyone read the papers?

and yes, for SAG the disagreement was about actors getting royalties for everytime one of their preformances aired as opposed to studios wanting to pay one lump sum and profit from the actors' work months, years from when it was made.

The California deal was just like the Montreal / Toronto deal. Montreal /Toronto area ACTRA is heading toward time for contracts to renegtiate.

In California writers and actors guilds were to renegotiate, several movie makers postponed and stepped up projects to not get caught. Sam Raimi was filming earlier and was planning to be in post production (now) if strike(s) were to happen, and do post shots (now set to be done) after. But the strikes never happened. Negotiations were good.

In Canada, Montreal / Toronto area is now approaching renegotiations, and movie makers are still looking at same possibility. The Daredevil movie moved to Vancouver because of this. Vancouver is not up for renegotiation till March 2002. Here is a link to Canada ACTRA news if you want to read more:
