cool, but there is a much better tool to use, the clone stamp tool, in gimp it is just called the clone tool. it is a picture of a stamp. hold alt(shift in gimp) and click on an area. release shift/alt, and brush in the area you want to fill, it will basically copy everything where you first clicked, and put it where you brush around

select your the layer that has your name, right click on it, and select blending options. then give it a bevell and emboss, and contour. if you want, you can give it an outer glow too
