Ok, I was just thinking about the fact that there might not be more than 3 Spider-Man movies and suddenly it just popped into my head! What if they did a Spidey TV series. No, I'm not talking about doing one like the animated one they did on MTV or the '94 animated one, I mean the real deal. Actors and everything. The only problem would be they would probably need some CG and the costume might be expensive. But at the same time, you might only need, like, two suits if the writer allows it. This could be a less expensive way to continue the story and keep fans satisfied. Please give me some feedback on why this may or may not work, who could play the lead roles and what kind of guest stars you would like to see if this show came about.

Ok what is with the 6 movies thing? They had never mention 6 movies! God it's going to be like Batman all over again. If were 3 more to continue after the third one, the 6th will prbably come out when we're dead. I seriously want to know where you all are getting this "There will be 6 movies of Spidey" from? It's really pissing me off.

True.
I would so watch a Spider-Man t.v. series.
Perhaps they can base it on the ultimate Spider-Man comic?
That would be interesting.

Why is everyone so negative about there being 6 movies don't you actually like the current movies, I mean if sam Raimi stays on the movies will carry on to be great and entertaining (wether you're dead or not) :D
i no. but if they dont make six movies they can make novels or sumthing.

I love the movies. I'm just a little concerned that there might not be enough and if there aren't how are we gonna get our Spidey fix.
The best thing about having a TV series of Spidey is you can introduce so many characters. Like the Black Cat(which they originally had written into the SM2 script and later cut out), they could write a love story between Peter and Betty, they could also add in little things like Harry's drug problems, and think of all the "good, but not quite good enough for the movie" villains like Shocker, Hydro-Man, Spider-slayers, Hammerhead, the Chameleon, heck, they could do a whole show on Rocket-racer...ok maybe not, but they could do a huge-normous story and possibly a whole season with the Kingpin running the crime.
Plus, you'd have guest apperances by the Human Torch, Madame Web, THE FREAKIN' PUNISHER, Spider-woman, Wolverine, the Molten Man, etc. But like I, along with many of you, think the budget would be the biggest problem. But the show would still totally kick ***. Y'know, I should start writing a show like that.

There are two big problems with the TV series...
If it was done with real actors, real effects etc. The budget would pop up to the sky's.
About the effects...
Someone compared this possibility to Super-Man and Blade, now hear me out.
With Superman it was easier since he only "lyes" in the air and flies around. With Blade, he doesn't fly. He just does cool martial arts and throws stuff.
With Spider-Man, it's hundred times more complex.
Spider-Man
A) Swings
B) Does acrobatics
C) and his effects reguire ten times more time.
Also, the other thing.
If it was based on the movies, it would ruin the future films like Spider-Man 4, 5 and 6.

I meant if they do not continue the movies past 3. Which is another big topic right now even though they said there'll be 6, nobody's signed on for 4. So if they don't go past 3 or 4 then all my questions apply. And does anyone have an idea of who would play any of the lead roles??

Perhaps Topher Grace can star in the show, lol, since he has been on a t.v. series before.
The show would be kind've weird if it were based off the movies without the original cast. Maybe they can start over and have it based on ULtimate Spider-Man and some Amazing stories too.
The budget would be tough, because companies don't want to spend big bucks on shows, that's why they have reality t.v.
I don't think the show could be that good without good effects, because thats what the audience looks forward to when they watch Spider-Man and a strong storyline.

They could write a season base on Peter mutating into a Spider like the cartoon series does. and they can have the sinister six.
boy, that would be expensive.

Yep, but it'd be friggin' sweet! Stupid budget.
They would probably have to stick with B-list villains most of the time. I mentioned a lot of them earlier. They would probably only go A-list for finales and the sinister six would be, like, the absolute last episode for the series.

True. That would be an awesome finale.
do u have any idea of how much money this would exactly cost?
Perhaps they can do a mini series of a movie like the Thornbirds.

Some people think they'll stretch the series too thin, and overdo it. I think Sony would know if they have to give it up (the spider-man movies) and i defineltly three is cutting it too short. I really think the series will go the full six.

I still think and have always thought that if they do a live-actor show it should (read: has to) show some darn good quality in all aspects, and (still) with todays effects and budget, it's not possible.
Either have boring Spider-Man with no cool swinging, or ****py effects that you'll laugh through.
Also, it'd had to start from the beginning, be separated from the movies.
But if there will be no Spider-Man 4, 5 or 6, then after few years, the live-actor series could be possible.

It seems like the only people who can get enough are the people making the movies. Which is a really bad thing for the franchise. I can't wait to see the 3rd and 4th and 5th and 6th movies. Because whether the lead actors or director are the same or not, there will be six. Spidey fills the seats, and that is all that matters.

Does anyone have any idea on who they would cast? Some people say its too bad Topher Grace is playing Venom cause that is who they would have cast for a TV show. Some people went as fas as picking Laura Prepon (Donna on "That '70s show") to play MJ(Basically a "That '70s show" promotion for the two). I seriously have no idea who I would cast in the lead roles, so I better start doing some research.
P.S. Who could play villains? I've read people's thoughts on Rhino and Kraven in other forums, but thats just two sooooo...yeah. Gimme some feedback.

Umm, if it was based on the beginning of Spidey and closer to the original comics, then I'd say... Peter Parker = Justin Long? He'd fit the geeky Peter pretty well, and even though he's probably going to be super in Hollywood (c'mon, Die Hard 4.0 man :D), it'd fit him.

Not as awesome as Spiderman the series written by........ ME!! I'm just kidding. They should get Michael Chabon to write it. (He's contributed on the first two films and the story for the 3rd is all the Chab. Screenplay by Alvin Sargent.)

The Hollywood Reporter (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/home_video/brief_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1002916354) says Sony is creating a new animated Spider-Man series:
Sony Pictures Television is becoming the first major television studio to enter the direct-to-DVD market for series. SPT has launched Culver Entertainment, a company focused on developing and producing drama, comedy and animated series exclusively for DVD and international distribution. The first project under the Culver Entertainment banner will be a new animated Spider-Man series. The first 13 half-hour episodes of the show are expected to be released next year.

Sure the link says 6 Spiderman Movies....but if you read the entire thing and not just what you want to read...
You will see that he refers to the woman who claims she wants to do 6 movies. Sam says if she wants to do 6, then we will do 6.
THAT IS NOT A CONFIRMATION THAT THEY ARE DOING or PLANNING 6 MOVIES.
