ok the organic idea is the sign of an imaginary mind but, if you do something like change curtain things about the character then he's not the same character now is he? i belive that they should leave the Web Shooters the way they are, because in the comics and the cartoons, they show that Peter Parker is really a Scientist in a way. So what i'm saying is changing one or more things on a character kills the character grasp on the people and it's frowned apon. Like a paralel demension or something but it's not the same. my advise is to keep the web shooters the same. the costume kicks *** just don't ruin spider-man because of that!

Move with the times,
he has organic web spinnerettes...but has mechanical web shooters to focus and alter the web (E.G. web net & weblines) i have been a fan of Spider-man since he was in that copy of Amazing Fantasy so so so long ago...and i welcome such a change....besides even with such a minor change he is still the same old spidey no matter what...i think this whole Web-shooters organic or synthetic fiasco is pointless just sit back and watch the film who knows it might enrich the story line and in doing so enrich your enjoyment so why argue

Even though I would still love to see the mechanical web-shooters in the film,I kind of like the idea to mix the organic and the mechanic web-shooters together. It may still be a funny feeling seeing him with web glands in his wrist, but the mechanic aiming device should clear that up.And,I always thought that the synthetic webbing seemed like silly string, but more stronger and stickier.Funny.

I have to say that being a fan of Spider Man for so long, I do not want to see any changes to the character made for the movie. The web shooters are a big part of the story of Spider Man. It's a part of his origin that is going to have to be altered for the movie and alterations to stories when comics are ported over to film (i.e. The Punisher) creates failures. Think about this, on those days when Spidey forgets his web shooters, or runs out of fluid mid-fight hiw are they going to adapt? I think that Stan Lee made a character that has stood the test of time for this long and making changes in any way corrupts an awsome legacy. I still have high hopes for the wall crawler and I'll be running to the theaters 3 May 2002 to buy my ticketes if I can't find a way to get some before then.

Yeah,I know what yah mean.It just doesn't feel right.I would really like to see the mechanic web-shooters on the big screen and so does a lot of people. But,it's nothing we can do.Even though we're the fans, directors can do what ever they won't.

I would agree with everyone who thinks the mechanical web-shooters work best.Sometimes,I guess,Directors and Producers would want to have something different for non-loyal fans thus something as far-fetched as organic web-shooters came into place.
In the case of XMen(just an innocent comparison),almost everything and everyone was in their original manner and it still blew loyal and non-loyal fans' mind away!!Research would be good.

Sorry to burst your bubble,Whitespider, but i don't think or there'll never be a comicbook-movie that'll be as big as the Star Wars saga.Check out the past,XMen was really good, lots of publicity, even converted non-fans to fans but that's about it.I'm a big fan of XMen and I'll always remember the movie.Spiderman,I'm afraid will fall under this category.Hopefully some will forget the failed TV series. The only one that made a big impact was probably Superman.
This is a discussion board,Whitespider, let's just be cool about it.

I'm confident that the Spiderman movie will be a huge success.......probably not Star Wars huge, but the most successful comic book movie of all time.

I know that this issue has been debated for like a year now, but I thought of something that nobody has yet to mention!! One of Raimi's reasons for using organics in the movie is that it will bring us closer to the character. That the genetic alteration seems more likely than a young boy actually making something like webshooters/ fluid. But I recall a comment that SPIDER-MAN made on the 1990's FOX cartoon series. It was some episode with that old "spider lady" or something. But Spider-Man was talking to this young girl, and she asked him how he makes his web fluid, and he said that the spider bite gave him THE KNOWLEDGE OF ASSEMBLING CERTAIN PROTEINS IN CERTAIN ORDER, so he could make the web fluid. Being a genius, and a n expert chemist, I am absolutely sure that Peter Parker could have figured out how to manufacture the web fluid from the knowledge he obtained from the spider bite. THis would have been way more believeable than anything else!!!!!! What do you think?
