Being as the Kingpin has always been at the top of the criminal food chain in the comic book, I've always felt that they should have started the Spider-man movie series with the Kingpin as the villain, perhaps starring a beefed-up Robert DeNiro. Also, having Spidey battling a human criminal mobster villain would have given the movie more of a realistic feel ... which is what drew most of Spidey's fans in the first place! Oh well, there's always Spider-man II.

I think the Green Goblin is a great choice for the first movie, I felt he was his equal in a strange kind of way. Kingpin was adopted by Daredevil in his comic book I feel he should be in his movie. If they ever have the guts to make that one realistically.

Yeah I agree with you thelizrd, I hope at most we get a side mention of the kingpin in any Spider-Man movies...similar to how Matt's partner brought up alligators in the sewers in DD.

There are plenty of other Mafia/Maggia characters from the Spidey comics that can be substituted for Kingpin in future movies (Silvermane, Hammerhead, The Rose, Tombstone, etc).
