Cool thing about it was, they gave the fans at least two chances to be in the movie as extras. Once in the wrestling arena scene with "Bonesaw McGraw", and the "World Unity Festival" scene where Spidey and the Goblin face off for the first time. Kudos to Raimi and Sony for making the dream come true for a few hardcore Spidey fans.

The scenes you mentioned were shot in LA, Extras were also used in NY. People who live in the location they use for MJ's house had their yards made over,while MJ's house was left alone to give the impression of her bad home life.
