I've just upgraded to the Mac OSX. The trailer is only offered on RealMedia & Windows Media. Can we get QuickTime for the rest of us not able to use these formats.

QuickTime DOES give better video quality than it's companions Real and Media player, so why use the other two? or at least why not include ALL three options?

All the big Studio's (including Columbia/Tristar!) use Quicktime to generate their trailers because they know that the footage will retain it's high quality when compressed.

I'm afraid that it just goes to show that in this big old world that PC's are still the dominating force in computing.

Mac users might be the underdogs, but at least we know that our kit is the mutts nuts!

I've seen a quicktime trailer. Did you know that mpeg4 video is better than qt4? Sorry, but the compression is better. If you want to see two trailers, visit angelfire.com/band/tvi/ for the two trailers as an asf file. I made it pretty good quality..

You can convert quicktime files to mpeg4 with the software on my site.... geocities.com/fire_software

Yes, qt4 is pretty good, but mpeg4 is better...

Actually... QuickTime is the official file format for MPEG-4...The next version of QuickTime will fully incorporate MPEG-4...You can't actually say that MPEG 4 is better than QuickTime... QuickTime isn't a compression, it's a framework that allows for many compression standards and media types to be played.... So, MPEG-4 may be better than the current standard compression generally used in QuickTime distributions, but that will change shortly.

From Apple's site...

"Apple Computer, IBM, Netscape, Oracle, Silicon Graphics, and Sun Microsystems recently announced that the International Standards Organization (ISO) has adopted the companies' joint proposal to use Apple's QuickTime file format as the starting point for the development of a unified digital media storage format for the MPEG-4 specification.

The six companies will collaborate with other companies and industry bodies to further refine the specification and QuickTime file format--ensuring that MPEG-4 quickly gains market acceptance.

Because of the ISO decision, products based on QuickTime are positioned at the heart of the new media applications expected to drive broadcast, entertainment, and web commerce in the years ahead. Today's QuickTime products are already MPEG-4 compatible."

Couldn't have put it better myself

However, the request still stands... how about some Spidey in QuickTime? Some of us have chosen a different path... Apple Mac.
