Spider-Man "fantasy" tv show

Ok, well I noticed that the Guides took down my casting call for this on the Lead Cast/Director section but left the role-playing stuff in the Classic Spidermania alone. So I am posting here a casting call for a new roleplaying section that will be somewhat structured and organized like a television show. The lines and actions will be up to you as the player/"actor/actress", but you'll be given a cue to enter a given scene and you'll follow a general script that we will all work on together.
Everyone will get to play a "super" and a "civvie." You pretty much need the civilian characters in any good show, because they are the supporting actors/actresses which bring reality to everything, but it would be unfair if you only got to be a normal person and noone else, especially since the "super" types will only be appearing one/two at a time usually. Whoever gets cast as Spider-Man does not necessarily have to be Peter Parker as well.....an interesting twist which will allow for two different takes on the character. Unless they want to play both parts because that will mean they'll be in almost every scene (except for cut scenes) and that means they have to be someone who's almost always on...I just didn't think that would be fair to THEM. The Peter Parker character will be allowed to use his powers, but only so they are not noticed. This show will be taking place before any public unmaskings. =)
In this television show, I am the director but we are all going to be the writers. We'll be communicating before your scene on what we want to see happen and what we don't want to see happen. (I.E. Carnage extends a tendril of crimson which transforms into an axe and decapitates Spider-Man before the stunned crowd!) (that's not going to give us a season two! lol)

So who's interested in joining in? Casting will be ongoing until we have every role filled and even then we'll need more people for ordinary joes/joys and I really don't think we can have that many that we can't find a super for you. There's so many choices. Good guys and bad. If you're not interested, please don't say anything at all, because I'd like to only see people who want to play in this thread so I can easily select them for the casting.

This is only an example, not who I am going to wind up being.

I'd like to play the part of Ben Urich, daily bugle reporter. I think the fact that he is willing to stand up to JJJ for what he believes is right is a strong trait. JJJ can be downright intimidating/scary and Ben is never afraid to be the devil's (usually Daredevil's) advocate. I also wouldn't mind being Flash Thompson or Joseph "Robbie" Robertson.
For supers I would like to be the Prowler! Hobie Brown is a great character, a reformed thief who was scared straight and permanently so by Spider-Man. I like the fact that he's a black man of science, defying many of the stereotypes that still persist, and a character who loves his wife so completely (see the SHIELD agents blackmail him in the latest ish of Civil War Frontline only when they threaten his wife! SHIELD is behaving very wicked in this run...Nick Fury needs to come back and whip them back into being good) he would do almost anything for her. I also wouldn't mind playing Spot (love those crazy teleporting discs and how he can split his body through them using the extradimensional powers) or Vulture (I would focus on aeriel attacks and his cunning evil that made him such a threat in the comics).

See? That's basically what I'm looking for. Oh, and these were just examples so feel free to apply for the part of any of these characters above. Excelsior!

Seriously, I'm sure there must be some folks who like interactive fan fiction. So please join and don't be discouraged by a few naysayers.
Also, we need to decide right off the bat if we want to have this tv series take place after Spider-Man 3 the movie or if we want it to be independent of the movies. If we do that are we assuming that Peter Parker's already Spider-Man or going to show that in the tv show. Personally, I say we skip that part because it's been shown enough for folks, I think you don't even need to show it except in flashbacks.

If you don't choose we can talk about who we need and see if you're agreeable. Maybe you would like to play the part of someone like Billy Connors, Curt's kid. Maybe you would like a more valuable role, someone like J. Jonah Jameson!
I'm very flexible. I would like to get started soon, and am looking to fill more roles. When we are done, I hope to have people saying that ours was one of the greatest Spider-Man fan fics ever recorded. I am confident it will be.

I just wanted to point out that we have our Peter Parker cast already but not our Spider-Man. Remember he's the exception because he is our main star and will be in most of the scenes. If I get enough of the other characters cast, we will let Venom1001 play both roles until we have cast a Spider-Man. Remember Venom1001 is already signed up for Green Goblin as his "super", and I really don't want to have to have him interact with himself for the fight scenes. I'll play Spider-Man in any scenes vs Green Goblin if we don't have someone cast by the time the two meet.
My priorities are: Aunt May, Spider-Man, Mary Jane, Gwen Stacy, JJJ, Robbie Robertson, Betty Brant, Liz Allen, and so on and so forth. Supervillains will be alot easier to find volunteers for, but that's why everyone gets to play both one "super" and one "civvie."
I might send out some private invites to select people for key roles if I don't get much feedback on this thread. Peter Parker Freak for White Rabbit role anyone? Heheh.

Yes, you will play Otto and Doc Ock both. Only Spider-Man was supposed to be the exception.....though if we ever introduce the Scarlet Spider, we may have to say Ben Reilly would be the other exception to keep it balanced.

Korm, you can be Harry/GG2 then, I will let Killer Symbiote pick a non-super civilian to play since he still has Venom (and thus Eddie Brock as well).

We aren't using a script except to have a storyline to follow. All the lines and action you will be doing yourself. It's interactive fan-fiction, meaning we all have a part in it. I'm the director and miscellaneous parts as needed. You all are my stars. Just keep to the storyline and tell the story the way you want to tell it. However, if I'm not happy with things, I can replace you. Also, no killing of other actors' characters (unless called for as part of the story I.E. The Death of Gwen Stacy or something like that).

Korm, check your PMs. You should already have a copy of the storyline through to the first commercial break. If you don't, please say so here and I'll resend.

Spiderboy, you're welcome to sign up. You get to play the part of one super and one civilian. I was going to actually test your knowledge before I cast parts, but it seems that there wasn't enough interest in joining the cast for me to do it. So you can pretty much have whoever you want, but the story will dictate when you appear. We're doing it all like a live-action tv show that plays out on these forums. The Pilot Episode has just begun.

Spiderboy, may I recommend Lance Bannon as your civilian? He was another rival photographer of Peter's. Took pictures that JJJ liked that were not as flattering of Spider-Man. Unlike Nick Katzenberg...Lance was a good guy rival.

For your supercharacter, I don't know you well enough, but I'll throw some names your way anyway. Maybe Rhino, Shocker, HydroMan, Jack'O'Lantern, Vermin, Carrion?

He saw that the door to the storeroom sanctum was ripped off of its hinges. “No where to run now Pete.” He said again under his breath. He saw an orange ball fly out of nowhere and Harry ducked under a support beam to hide the blast of the Pumpkin Bomb thrown at the wall. It blew up. Harry heard someone laugh maniacally and saw that person fly out of the room out of the hole with a Glider, and other Goblin gear. Harry walked into the part of the room where all the Goblin Gear was stored, half of the things there were gone! “Who… the hell… was that? What did they need my stuff for anyway?”

So you're original Jack'O'Lantern right? The one that later became the Hobgoblin?
And Lance Bannon is fine. You'll be in most of the Daily Bugle scenes as a background character and since you've been cast, we'll have you as an innocent foil a lot of times, and probably JJJ's favorite photographer.

If you have a civilian who works for the Daily Bugle, feel free to start adding to the story under the other thread, the one called Pilot Episode. Remember that we're assuming that this is a tv show, albeit it is not...but who knows, maybe one day it will be.
Just stick to the storyline I sent out and I'll send one out to Robin Hoody. I'll have the next part of the storyline for everyone soon, I'm still working things out based on who I have cast and everything and also wanting to not skip around. Telling a good story is more important than getting everyone's character into the show right away. I promise everyone's super will appear on the show though and in season 1 too.
PS - Eddie Brock is not Venom yet. He's just Eddie Brock for now.

I need my JJJ, Peter Parker, and Robbie Robertson. Eddie Brock and Lance Bannon (amongst others) are going to be milling about in the city room. The action should start off in JJJ's office but the door is open so anyone could show up at the door (like Hoffman perhaps - Ted Raimi's character). We're going by the storyline I sent out so they're talking about Stolen Oscorp Technology that was spotted flying over Queens.
Post your replies on the Pilot Episode thread. Use this thread for recruitment and clarification issues. We can use the opinions thread for talking about what we want to see, how we like what's already happened. Pilot Episode thread should flow smoothly if possible so they don't have to read more than they have to when they "watch" the show. So try to keep it only your acting parts there. If somebody doesn't understand, did you get the storyline in your Private Messages here on the boards? Or do I need to start things off by playing Hoffman or something?

And they execute it. Are you interested in getting involved? Once everybody understands how it works I think it will go alot smoother.
I would have posted something about it earlier, but I have been busy with work and home issues.
We need to have JJJ tell Peter and Robbie (or someone else if he wants, just figured a non-photographer) to go check out Harry's place and try to find out what happened. Peter would have been chosen because he's best friends with Harry.
Once there, Harry tries to cover up the truth about his father being the Green Goblin and after he gets rid of them......well then we see our first commercial break after the boo.....and I'll have sent out what happens next before then to all the actors.

Meanwhile, I want you guys to move the show along and get to Harry's and have Harry get rid of Peter and Robbie after they try to get the scoop. That's when we'll have our first commercial break and start in on what I'm writing now.
I am the writer because I trust myself to not screw up my own "television" show. I will consider guest writers though if they submit a script to me. I am going to try to work in everybody's character, but of course Toxin will have to be the last one introduced (so far). How it works is I will send out the "scripts" via Private Messages (top right under your login ID and where it says Last Visited) and the actors have free reign to interpret their parts as long as they stick to the script. They have complete freedom to ad-lib and embellish. That way certain "actors" will really get the chance to showcase their writing but I still get credit/blame for writing the plotlines. It's basically a turn-based fan-fiction and something we can have fun with up to and beyond Spider-Man 3. Roleplaying is fun, I just take my roleplaying more seriously than most because I want to see it survive instead of die that's why I came up with the "television show" angle because that will get everybody thinking about "what's going to happen next season" instead of Ok, Venom just killed Spider-Man with a bite to the throat...um...game over?

Not picking on anyone else's roleplaying threads, because the more the merrier I say.

Now, I realize I went off on another clarification spiel, and to those who already "get it" I apologize. Welcome to the cast, Momma33. I have decided that your first choices of Lizard and Cpt. Stacy are the best roles to have you fill. I am sure there would have been an appearance of Cpt. Stacy in the Pilot Episode had I known I would have someone to portray him, but I can probably get him into the show early on, maybe the end of the Pilot episode or if not, by the first show of Season 1. Lizard will definately make an appearance at some point also, but especially as Curt Connors since he is a major npc in the Spider-Man mythology. Make sure you leave some room for private messages. I've noticed that it counts "receipts" as messages, so it helps to get rid of all of those you don't need and alot of your old private messages you don't mind losing. I sent out the next part of the script to everybody except Killer Symbiote because his box was full. However, since he's Venom/Eddie and is not in the story yet, we can proceed, but I will make sure he gets a copy of the script once he's cleared out some of his old messages.

It also counts Sent Items as messages. So you have a record of everyone you've sent a message to but it counts towards your total of 50. Instead of Inbox, select Sent Items and you will see what I mean. You should trim down your total messages to at least 40 if not fewer. Shouldn't be too hard to do.

Sure, you can fill in where Korm left off. I'll send you the script as we have it so far. It's still fanfic, you can improvise things, but try to stick to the plot of the storyline or the whole thing degenerates into chaos.

Ok, so I need my Robbie (The_Mask) and Peter (Venom1001) still, sorry if I did a quick fast forward earlier. I was just doing it because we had gotten so far behind from our Harry being banned - twice. We'll continue with the scene where they interview Stan Lee (played by me) and he describes what the culprit looks like. Then we'll show the interaction between Harry (myself) and you-know-who. I'll go ahead and send out some more of the script where the actors can find out who's responsible ahead of the audience and know what's going on pretty much.
We're still looking to fill some more parts for the show, people. Nobody likes interactive stuff? Because I could write the whole thing by myself but then it wouldn't be as much fun.

The Guides don't want fan fic anymore. I guess there was too much of it or something. I would like to move my tv show to another board. Maybe Roni's (The_Mask) would be good. Or GreenGobbie's. Whereever we go, the cast members will have to make sure they are signed up and have that site favorited. I hope that the guides change their mind about fan fic but until they do, I don't want to step on their toes. Roni, since you are a big part of the tv show, do you have space on your fansite for the tv show?
