Matrix was a movie first.
I don't think Matrix was a comic book first.....
I didn't even know they ever made a Matrix comic book...weird.
But you should probably get your facts straight. I will have to look into this myself because maybe I owe you an apology, but what is the point of this thread exactly, just to raise awareness of the glut of comic book movies?

There are few more... Road to Perdition, History of Violence, American Splendor, The Crow, Tank Girl, Spawn, The Mask, Faust, Vampirella. While the Phantom is not a comic book character it was and still is in some newspapers a comic strip much like Flash Gordon was. I will reiterate that a graphic novel is different from a trade paperback(if it's printed with issue numbers, it's a comic book). Not all comic movies or characters are superheroes. A comic is panels of stories much like the storyboards of a movie. Hence why Sin City resembles the comic so much. 30 Days of Night started as a screenplay became a comic and is now being made into a movie. Try reading some independant comics or webcomics along with the big boy companies. Oh the creator of Mystery Men is a friend of mine by the name of Bob Burden, go read his comic Flaming Carrot.

Sometimes they invent one for the movies and then they might make a movie adaption comic for them. Like Meteor Man or Blankman heheh.
