It ended with a hug, that's better than a swing
And socool,
there were these metal construction bars all around the scene. And when some fell, Venom reacted all crazy, and then Parker remembered when he hit the bell and the symbiote basically popped out, so he then knew it was the sound. He started by smashing bars together, and then he surrounded Venom in a circle of them. Then he went around with one bar hitting all the others in the circle. The symbiote was about 75% off and Peter webbed Eddie and pulled him out. Then the symbiote grew to this huge "thing" and Peter just hit the bars again. Then he grabbed one of the Pumpkin bombs from Harry's glider and threw it at the symbiote. Eddie's like "What are you doing Parker!!!???" and he ran in with the symbiote. The bomb went off and Eddie's body turned to a skeleton and the symbiote basically blew up and disappeared.

it happened basically like that but you never see eddie die
also, i wa a fan of the no swing cause the movie ended fantastic. the swing would have been forced, and it really sets this movie apart from the others, cause it was more about peter and mj then about spidey, and so it ended that way.

Yes you do! LoL, when the bomb goes off, you can see his skeleton (just like in SM1 when Green Goblin kills his ex co-workers on the balcony) before the symbiote is destroyed.
I can't believe so many people missed that...

This is how I wanted the final swing be like:
Red and Blue Spidey swings through the city, doing flips and turns in midair the swinging through an opening of a crane and then landing the empire state building pole thing, then it flashes from Red to Black costume and swings towards the camera

You Killed Venom!
The above message was the stupidest thing that I have ever seen in the spiderman movies so far. I wonder if the person who wrote this script actually read the comics. This hollywood changing things and killing the greatest characters in the movies when they aren't supposed to be dead **** is getting old. I hope for the movies sake that you bring back that certain character in the next movie or you will loose a big fan base. You cannot bring one of the best characters in a movie and just destroy him and the way he is killed is stupid. One little boom and there goes the best character that you had in the whole series. Way to go! You should let the fans write the scripts and help make the movies because as of right now you guys are doing a great job at killing the best parts of the movies. I also wanted to let you know that if you would have left the character and followed the symbiote wars you would have gotten more money out the next installment and possible made the 4th movie the number one movie ever but "NO" you have to mess-up a great plot line in a comic for no reason and by the way here is how Venom dies in the comics. Brock had been diagnosed with a form of cancer that increases his production of adrenaline. Instead of their mutual hatred of Spider-Man, Brock's increased adrenaline production, on which the symbiote feeds, is the primary reason for their bonding. The bonding also saves Brock from his cancer. It also incidentally keeps Brock's vitality from having his life force drained by the symbiote. He later in the story line auctions off the Venom symbiote. HE DIES OF CANCER, NOT A GOBLIN BOMB... Way to go Hollywood.... I just wanted to get this off my chest because this character is the reason that I was excited about these movies and now that he is dead there is no reason to see the next one. If you bring him back make sure you e-mail me because I'm not wasting another $7.00 on a spiderman movie ever again...
 I was very upset by this movie and use to be a fan of the movie series way to take that away...

I thought it was fitting because it showed this movie was a closure for the series.:( and spidey doesn't really have something to look forward to...
On the other hand, the final swing is a trademark of the movies, a final scene where spidey shows his ability again would be cool:p

That final swing sequence, hmm i really dont miss it much. The ending scene felt a bit better, leaving a knot in closure. Especially everything that happened, I think we'd want to see Peter be himself for a change. And that felt alone, just fine.

It was too short! The acting for the first fourth of the movie was too rushed. It could have been longer. "'Nuff said" I guess.

there could be a few reasons for no final swing:
-The visual effects team spent so much on sandman and venom that they had no time for a final swing
-The budget seemed to be large and not enough money for a final swing
-Peter just lost his best friend and fought a HUGE battle so he wouldnt have any energy or motivation for a final swing
-the movie would be too long
its a thought.

You got some points there. Especially the last one sounds like a good way to interpret the missing swinging scene. Good job! One reason why I love the Spider-Man movies are the details ;)

There was ALOT that seemed rushed about this movie - and some unnessasry scenes that dragged a little.
Some things ppl haven't pointed out which i thot were bad:
The really bad acting during the news report of the battle royale - WHY WHY WHY - didnt need it at all.
Venom was far too rushed - didn't refer to himself as we - no speech saying he has spidermans powers etc, the voice for venom wasn't nearly good enough tho i thot topher did well with the rest.
The black suit - for all the hype about it in this movie it was used like twice and there was no sence of him loosing control of right and wrong.
The end was terrible - im trying to be ratioinal here - I didnt hate it, i was dissapointed with it, but i WILL be goin back to see it again and im sure ill enjoy it more the 2nd time BUT....
Sandman jst stops? WHY no reason (believe theres deleted scenes where his daughter asks him to) - far to abrupt and not fitting with the story. Wot was with him floatign about in the sky - was weird and jst didnt wrk.
No explanation from Doc. Connors about the suits abilities and weaknesses.
Over the top flash backs - spoon feeding us stuff we all knew coz we'd seen it already.
Venom was not in it long enough - didnt seem powerful / menacing enough. Far too rushed and as it looks despite the claims from an unnamed actor that his character isnt dead - they look to have defo killed him off. If there had just been an explosion and then a bit of the symbiote burning then they could easily have brought him in again in another movie - which it looks like they will need to do to win back alot of fans.
Also what was with the music? Was it Danny Elfman coz alot of it dint sound like it. Right from the opening credits had a weird section where ti was just symbiote ooxing over dna etc but had weird music - spoiled the flow of that in my opinion. Then there was music in scenes which i felt really didnt work at all - didnt have the smae spiderman theme from the 1st 2. And what was with that theme music they introduced - sounded alot like something from X-MEN - really dint work.

OKay OKAY there were a lot of dissapointments but atleast it wasnt as bad as X3 GOD! look at the upside of this movie, besides short time all the new characters worked well,Sfx was the best ive ever seen. All the fights were spectacular, green goblin got his due. 4 way battle was amazing. we had comic relief with parker "trying" to be bad and cocky. IT was still overall a fun experience!

i feel like my head's about to explode whenever i try to decide whether the movie was good or bad. LIKING it and seeing it as being "good" or "bad" can be two different things.
