Will this affect Spider-Man 4? If so, how much? Hope this isn't a repeat.

it is already affecting.
cause the new writer said he will only start to work in SM4 after the strike.

theres no reason for the writer though not to think up of ideas and start brainstorming for the new script

he doesn't need.
he already told to the producers all his ideas. that's why he was chosen.
all he has to do now is start writing officially.
but he said he'll do this after the strike.

thats fine with me, gives him more time to think and develop the movie better, read up on some comics and stay true to them!

true. and he started on the right path, already.
he said he will develop more the characters this time, differently from SM3, and will give us only two villains, which is perfect, imo.

All these bits of news well : Mostly I'm just hoping that the movie will be released in 2009 ... But rather a great Spider-Man in 2010 than a bad one in 2009 off course

well they have always said they crammed too much into SM3 because of the budget, sam would have loved to develop the characters more, but didnt have the budget or time....and i would like one main villain then one sub villain that is only in the movie for like two or three 10-15 min scenes, cuz i loved the first and 2nd how there was one villain, they could develop their story more....which is y the First Spider-Man is the best IMO

let's pick Batman Begins, for instance.
it had Ra's Al Ghul and Scarecrow. two villains, and was perfect. if SM4 is handled as good as BB, then it will be perfect, for sure.
we just need the movie to be 2 hours and 20 min, again, but this time, don't rush things.

Spider-Man 2 was made in two years and that was great.
Spider-Man 3 was made in three years and wasnt that great.

So a 2009 Spider-Man 4 could still be great.
