-Ended in cemetary, like SM1. No jazz club. They could have talked after the funeral, and then make up. It could have went like "Sorry I pushed you". Then MJ and hugs Peter. Then he narrates "Who Am I? I'm spider-man..." That could work with or without a final swing.
-When Peter takes out his red/blue costume before final battle, they should have played Ben's words "With Great Power... Comes great responsibility. Remember that, Pete. Remember that." I feel this way because in the first film they have the same shot of him taking out the DRAWING of the costume, and it plays Ben's words, right before he becomes spider-man. It also has the same music as the SM3 scene.
-No venom. Venom should be in SM4. It not only would feel less rushed, but it would involve more screentime and more character evelopment. This would also let us see a final swing with black spidey, and get to have two movies with him.
-No emo peter. I understand the hair shows a drastic change in his personality, but there are other ways to do that. They could have made it that he doesn't shave, and begins to grow a small beard (unshaven face).
-No Gwen modeling. She was a great character in the comics, but the movie totally got her wrong. Yes, she is beautiful, but she is also smart. Why would she be doing a random modeling gig in the first place? Instead, I would have liked to see her in a science lab or something doing experiments (possibly involving Doctor Conners and the Lizard experiments).
-Make NG come in a little after more explaination. Just because he has found goblin equipment, and wants to avenge his father, isn't just a big enough reason. Going to kill somebody isn't that easy. The novelization did it perfectly, with harry arguing with his father and taking it out on Bernerd. I thought the butler scene at the end wasn't terrible, but they should have made a better reason for Harry to help him. Perhaps argue with Norman, and Harry sees that he really was terrible and evil. THEN the butler talks to Harry.

Oh man, it would take long to make different Replies 2 those Quotes lol!
I'll tell ya like this, i'm too lazy :p :
-Just because Gwen was a Model in the movie, doesn't mean she is stupid! Not all models are dumb..it's just that Gwen shouldn't be brought now...
-When Spidey grabbed the red/blue costume i think these words should've be heard " You were meant for great things, he never doubted the man you're gonna be.." or something like this..
-Funeral thingy I agree, but why end it there?!? Replace The Jazz scene with a dramatic & fantastic Swing scene!
-The "NO emo Peter" U said, I disagree with everything U said there!

I never said Gwen was stupid. Just saying that modeling was too random and felt like it was forced to show her good looks.
"You were meant for great things" does not match the scene. the responsibility line by Uncle Ben has to do with the scene. Peter had the responsibility to fix what he has done, and save MJ.
I never said to end at the funeral. I said after MJ and Peter make up, they could end with spidey swinging.
I guess you like emo peter. I like him, too. Just felt too random and had no point.

Yea the Line I said matches up! It's like he dissapointed Ben & now it's time for Pete to be the one Uncle Ben believed in! :ohthedrama:

first off... Aunt May said it, not Ben. Saying he was meant for great things doesn't have to do with responsibility. With that responsibility line, it comes to show that even though he got the wrong killer, he still has the responsibility of his great power. After he was unresponsible with the black suit's greater power, he has to make up what he has done wrong...

I thought that electro and sandman would have been awesome. IDK if you remember, but I posted a plot someone wrote that involved them, and it sounded really awesome. Wouldn't a final swing with black spidey be awesome? I mean, how could you not want that?

exactamundo, Luke123! Before venom was confirmed, I thought that would happen. When I saw the teaser trailer, they show black spidey falling from the church, and his "eye" goes into the screen. I could have sworn that would be the end of the final swing.

-yup, agree with the emo peter thing, he should have been portrayed way differently

I thought about something today while watching the film. The part where Peter tells Eddie,"The suit, you've gotta take it off." Instead of saying,"I like being bad.It makes me happy." It would've been so much more awesome if Eddie said, "The only thing I'm takin' off ...is your head!"

Here's what they shoulda done:
A) Extend the contracts with Tobey, Kirsten and James and make the movie a two-parter, so Venom takes up the latter half.
B) Make it a three hour movie so the action scenes are longer (and drama scenes are shortened), Sandman's developed more, and Venom is onscreen for forty minutes.
C) Come up with a different plot, put in Lizard, and save Venom for SM6.

Someone earlier said that Harry should have an argument with Norman before deciding to help. this idea is great.
The humor in the movie was fine. Where the movie fell short was the credibility they gave to the costume. They didn't balance the funny stuff of the new Peter with the dramatic darker side of him. That's partially why the black suit came off as a joke (I loved it, however).
Venom shouldn't have been introduced and killed in the same movie. At most, they should've showed Brock's interaction with the suit before he exited till the next movie. If you read "The Black", which comes with the 2 disc special edition DVD set, you'll know what I"m talking about.
P.S. I watched the movie with commentary, and it made me like the movie even more. Yeah, it fell short, but it had heart to it.

-I thought MJ and Gwen should have been kidknapped for the final battle. Not only would it be different, but it would make sense. Venom wanted revenge, so why wouldn't he take Gwen as well? She "betrayed" him, at least that is how Eddie felt.
-Eddie's reaction to the upside down kiss with Gwen should have been shown.
-While Spidey kissed gwen upside down, they should have showed a flashback of Spidey kissing MJ upside down.
-When the symbiote was attaching to Peter, there should have been no flashbacks. It ruined the intensity of the scene.
-Explain more about the symbiote, instead of it being that random goo that came from a meteorite.
-A fire scene. The first two had them. Since fire is a weakness of the symbiote, this was the perfect opportunity to do so.
-New Goblin should have had a new costume at the end.
-An explaination of why Harry didn't become a lunatic after using the goblin formula.
-An explanation of why Harry "sees" his father in the mirror. Ghost? Illusion?

I think they should've ditched Sandman, made it more about Harry's storyline (it was sorely ignored) and Venom. We should've known more about Eddie before he transformed into Venom instead of him getting black goo on him and wanting to kill people. Because that's how it ended up turning out, didn't it? It was stupid.
Less MJ, more Gwen. I hate MJ (but many of you probably know that already). She was way to whiny in this movie too. Any likeable part of her was lost in 3. And her kissing Harry? That whole love triangle was a waste. They were acting like they were in high school. Grow up.
I agree with others, no emo Peter. An for goodness sake, why did he have to dance? This movie truly shoul've been dark, especially once he had the suit. Him dancing took away from how toxic the suit was and just made it seem like a joke.
More of the relationship of Peter/Gwen. They were lab partners, so why wasn't there a scene of them working in the classroom together?

I just meant that maybe they could've paid more attention to him turning into the Goblin. They just started off with him coming out of the gas chamber. I wish we saw some conflict inside of him before he gave in to what he thought his father would want. Ya know what I mean?

Harry should have a movie dedicated to him (SM4). It could show a headline "NEW GOBLIN & SPIDER-MAN TERRORIZE CITY" after their first fight. That could be how he gets his name "NEW GOBLIN" and Peter would be completely lost on who the goblin was. SM3 could have spent time on him training to be the goblin, and deciding on what the right thing to do is.

Completely 100% agree. Ending in a jazz club was completely off, in my opinion. It also should have ended in a final swing.

That would've been good. Not the biggest thing to complain about, but it would have been relevant.
-No venom. Venom should be in SM4. It not only would feel less rushed, but it would involve more screentime and more character evelopment. This would also let us see a final swing with black spidey, and get to have two movies with him.
I disagree. They should have had venom survive in this movie, instead of not having him in it all together so he could be in the fourth movie, since venom fans were cheated in this movie
-No emo peter. I understand the hair shows a drastic change in his personality, but there are other ways to do that. They could have made it that he doesn't shave, and begins to grow a small beard (unshaven face).
I think they should have just done it better altogether, and made it less corny
-No Gwen modeling. She was a great character in the comics, but the movie totally got her wrong. Yes, she is beautiful, but she is also smart. I only think Gwen shouldn't have modeled. That was just really really dumb.

I really had no complaints when it came to NG, but a little bit of fleshing out of the characters would've been great.

. Have Spidey have the black suit until after Harry's fuenral then he goes to the church & takes it off. Connors has told him it dosen't like loud noises.
. No Venom until the very last shot before the end credits. Thoughthe character of Eddie should of been introduced & explored.
. Sandman should of been Harry's "goon" with Harry paying for the daughter's operation.
. New Goblin & Sandman should of been relentless & kept attacking Peter. Until the end where the butler calls Harry, on some sort of comlink, to tell him what happened, right before they nearly kill Spidey.
. They should of had refernces of Connors becoming the Lizard in 4.
. No b****y M.J.

-No Jazz scene or maybe have the scene to where Gwen and Peter dance but just like a normal dance. Then MJ sees them dancing and gets mad and storms out and Pete and MJ start yelling at each other. MJ slaps Pete in the face. And you can tell with the look on his face he was about to apologize but instead the symbiote takes over once again and he lashes out on her and actually punches her square in the face. The Jazz employees call security and they try to handle Peter, Peter then leaves the area. Peter then should have gone to Harry's house for a nice visit, then Harry should have told him that him and MJ were together. Then Peter should have "left" only to really have been hiding on the rooftop. Then when his butler leaves he comes back and they brawl. But instead of just beating each other up and chucking a pumpkin bomb he should have token a pumpkin bomb and chucked it at him and then walked over and continued kicking him until Harry was about an inch away from death, then Peter should have realized what he had done, and left. He should have then seen Dr. Connors and gotten mad or something because he was working too slow. Then Dr. Connors should have told him what could weaken this symbiote and then Peter should have left and instead of looking like a dork on the streets should have swung around as symbiote spiderman and beat up thugs. Then he should have imagined one as his uncle ben's killer and almost killed him too. But then he should have saw the image of Venom flashing through his mind and scrambled to the nearest loud sound...the church. Eddie did the same thing that I kidna would have wanted but he should have done this:
After he prays to God he should have heard screaming from the belltower and walked up the staircase to then see Peter's face in struggle. the he should have pulled out a camera phone and started to take pictures but then lean on the ledge and fall off and the symbiote catch him and then the symbiote should have hissed:
"I did you a favor.....now you must do us a favor. I want to fulfill your dream..your prayer.
Let us kill Peter Parker!"
then roar at the screen.

-I thought MJ and Gwen should have been kidknapped for the final battle. Not only would it be different, but it would make sense. Venom wanted revenge, so why wouldn't he take Gwen as well? She "betrayed" him, at least that is how Eddie felt. You do know, that it was suppose ot be only Gwen in the beginning, right? They chosed MJ in the end, because they needed something to have Harry and Peter become friends again, instead of having hating thing. Also a way for Harry to die! Also, in Spider-Man, Green Goblin was going to go on top of a building, like in Spider-Man 3. Which doesn't make sense. No matter, it didn't happen. But it would've been cool, to have Venom holding Gwen and MJ by their neck, and then drop them. Like Goblin did, but now it's two women, that Peter love in different way. Maybe is in love with MJ and likes Gwen as a friend sort of thing. But it wouldn't matter, he would have to try to save both. That's would be cool and suspenseful. Yeah!!
-Eddie's reaction to the upside down kiss with Gwen should have been shown. I agree on that. It would've added more to his delusion.
-While Spidey kissed gwen upside down, they should have showed a flashback of Spidey kissing MJ upside down. No. That would've taken from it. We have MJ's expression and remembering it. That's good enough.
-When the symbiote was attaching to Peter, there should have been no flashbacks. It ruined the intensity of the scene.I thought the very opposite. It added to it. The symbiote could feel his anger. It was drawn to it. As he was dreaming, it just made the symbiote stronger. I think that's was one of the things of how the symbiote made him stronger. Peter was making it stronger, by his anger, so by that it makes him stronger. I never thought of that. Huh. :)
-Explain more about the symbiote, instead of it being that random goo that came from a meteorite.I do think they should've had about ten minutes of the film from John Jameson finding it on the moon, then coming to Earth. Spidey getting it that way. But by doing that, it changing everything in the film. It couldn't work, sadly.
-A fire scene. The first two had them. Since fire is a weakness of the symbiote, this was the perfect opportunity to do so.That would've been good. But from who and/or where? Harry wasn't trying to kill anyone but Peter. Sandman wouldn't do that, because sand turns into glass, as we saw in the final battle.
-New Goblin should have had a new costume at the end.
They had the Green Goblin costume in Spider-Man, in Spider-Man 3 Harry's New Goblin costume. To have a third would be too much. Plus you want to see Harry's face in the final battle. To have a mask like his father's, we wouldn't see his face when dying. I know MJ or Peter could take it off, but he's a good guy. Not a villain to where a villains costume or mask.
-An explaination of why Harry didn't become a lunatic after using the goblin formula.Simple. His father told him what thing not to do that he did. That's what made him insane. It's like Hobgoblin, only without GG. He didn't make the mistake GG did.
-An explanation of why Harry "sees" his father in the mirror. Ghost? Illusion?Yeah. That one is hard to know. I say it's a 'magic mirror.' No I'm kidding. :shake: It's left to the imagination.
