You should add just a little flesh tone to Kraven. Chameleon is wearing a white mask, so he's fine as is, but Kraven's flesh shouldn't be just blank slate I don't think. Or was that how the cover was released (unfinished coloring)?

I have been wanting to see this pic of yours though! I was so happy when you said this was your first Spider-Man comic ever! Mine was one of the reprints they did in Marvel Tales with the Robot Master (aka Dr. Stromm from the original Spider-Man movie...he's the one that helped make the goblin formula). In the comics, Norman took the credit for a lot of his ideas. It's one of those match-ups that should have occurred more often: Green Goblin vs Gaunt (Stromm's current supervillain identity).
Often times, the villain vs villain plot hooks go unused because they don't necessarily involve a hero in them. Bullseye vs Lady Deathstrike is another example of an unused villain vs villain subplot that is long overdue. For those who don't know, Bullseye killed her father (who helped create the adamantium implant process used in Weapon X program) who had just used it to repair Bullseye's broken bones. He apparently didn't want to be indebted to him and didn't want anyone else to benefit from the process as he had. Plus he's just plain cookoo in a bad way. I've been waiting for this match-up for what seems like my entire life and they keep skirting around it and having her fight Wolverine all the time instead. It's so frustrating!
Marvel, if you're listening (which with Joe Q in charge is doubtful), please consider addressing these two loose plot threads? If you have already, somebody please let me know when and where it happened? Because I was about to kick somebody when I saw them "sort of" working together in the Thunderbolts army during Civil War. That HAD to be an oversight on someone's part!
PS - If I mastered time travel, I could go back in time and buy an extra copy of the ten and twelve cent comics. I would return to the future and keep one copy for myself for reading and sell the other copy. They are worth hundreds of dollars each now. When you said somewhere your mother didn't throw out your comics, that was lucky, because my dad lost his to his mom throwing them out. A lot of money and value lost...

awesome! but i think you should add more black to Spidey's eyes. they look too white...other than that it's FANTASTIC! one of the best things i've seen on this site. how long did it take you to make?

Thanks for your kind words, I appreciate it.
It normally takes 4 weeks for me to finish, as I only work on it a couple of nights a week, and some on the weekends.
I have more trouble with the words/logos.
It measures 15"x22" so it's almost 4 times the original size.

Actually, I don't own all of the books I do, I get a picture of the cover I want to do on www.comic-covers.com. They have 1000's of covers.
I may look at Amazing Fantasy #15, but honestly, I won't do if I can't do it justice. It's hard to follow "king" Kirby.

But Steve Ditko was the one who did the art for the early Spider-Man comics.

I like it a LOT! Especially the spiked arm bands and the chain must have taken a LONG time to do right!
Don't you think the pants are too tight, even though he's a flaming skeleton? Also, the lack of the back of the skull being visible would probably be less noticeable if the flame were in color so we could see how intense they are. It's hard to understand why we wouldn't be able to see anything of the back of his head when it's black and white.
Great job though! It's comic book quality work!

Well as far as the pants go many GR artists drew the character like he still had meat on his "bones" from Mark Texeira to Todd McFarlane. I haven't got around to doing the piece in color yet. The original still has a white background. I used the computer to fill in the black, that actually took longer than drawing the chains believe it or not.
