The Spectacular Spider-Man is indeed SPECTACULAR!!! :D
The first episode starts off like this. Some things may be out of order. But not much. They may be switch around, since I just watched the episodes.
It shows a shot of the south part of NYC. Spider-Man is swinging through the buildings, and it's like watching the Spider-Man movies. The Daily Bugle is just like the movie's DB! Except the name is on the roof's sides. Two burglars are coming out of a jewelry store through the roof. One of them is Flint Marko! But he doesn't have his powers yet. He has a goon with him. When the goon is about to jump over to the next building, Spidey webs him up. The Spider-Signal goes over Flint Marko! He's shocked. It seems that this is the third time Spidey and Flint have met. (The third time Spider-Man 3, Sandman. Yeah.) Anyway, Spider-Man swings over and kicks him. He drops the sack he's holding, which is filled with jewelry. Spidey webs up his wrists and ankles together and leaves the scene.
Now a new scene starts. It's Hammerhead! Who I think look very cool. He's talking to someone about Spider-Man. But this other person is in the shadows. I think it's the Kingpin. I believe he tells Hammerhead to get the Enforcers.
The openning starts. It goes through a Daily Bugle newspaper. It shows at the beginning the spider bitting Peter. It looks a lot like the film version. Red and blue. It shows characters, villains, shots of episodes to come. As well as Black Spidey. His spider symbol is almost like the movie. Only the legs don't go in at the top. Then it shows the title of the show. At the bottom it says "Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko." I thought that was great.
New scene starts. I don't remember which came first, but it doesn't exactly matter.
Adrian Toomes is yelling at someone over his designs, that he said have been stolen by OsCorp. That's how they spell OsCorp in the show. The person he's yelling at is the timid Otto Octavius! His voice was good. I don't think it fit the character. At least not to me. I'll have to watch it more to find out. He's only in this part of the two episodes. Norman Osborn comes in with two other poeple. Adrian yells at him and tells him that he stole his designs. I think Norman somewhat says he did, but I don't remember. Adrian tells Otto that it's not his fault anymore and then starts to leave the room. Then Norman called him a name. It wasn't Vulture. It was another kind of bird. I'll try to think of it. After saying the name, he blows on his figures. Okay, to me that seemed funny because it seems like Norman would do that, but I never thought of it, so it made me laugh.
New scene. Hammerhead is at a warehouse type place. With three poeple behind him. They're the Enforcers. There's a speaker type thing. It's the same person who asked Hammerhead to get the Enforcers. I thought there were four of them, but there are were three. I may be wrong on there being four.
New scene. Peter is at home. He's getting dressed. He goes down the steps, to hear Aunt May talking to Anna Watson. You never see Anna Watson. May was talking to her about money and bills. She asked her not to tell Peter though. Even though Peter was right there. He clears his throut and acts like he's coming down the stairs when he's was already at the bottom. Peter comes in, and kisses her as well as compliments her. Then goes out the door.
Aunt May's look was cool. She seemed like she was in her late 50's through her early 60's. She has the same hair style it seemed as Gwen Stacy.
New scene. It shows Peter's high school. His voice is a little higher when he isn't Spidey. Gwen and Harry greet him. Harry's voices bothered me a lot when I first heard it. It's really high. Like his voice just changed, so it's inbetween high and somewhat low. It's sort of funny now that I think of it. Gwen is perfect from what I saw. Voice and everything. I can see they're going to have Peter and Gwen become boyfriend and girlfriend or something. Mary Jane was never shown. Hmm. Peter sees a girl it seems like he likes. She's a cheerleader and she's called Sally. I've never heard of her. Since he has been Spidey he feels all powerful and changed. But it seems like it hasn't. Peter is still Peter. No one knows he's Spidey so they're not going to treat him different. Flash Thompson comes in the scene when Peter's talking to Sally. He and a few of his friends bully Peter a little. Take his lunch and all that we know he does to Peter.
New scene. It shows the end of a class. The teacher, who I think sounds a lot like Alfred Molina, but most likely isn't, tells Peter and Gwen to stay. It's about a job or something to go to Doc Connors and work with him. The teacher asks them do they remeber going there, and they show a Peter remembering the field trip. It must have been in late May or early June. It's where the spider bit him. They do remember it and are excited.
New quick scene. It shown that Adrian is putting on his Vulture armor.
New scene. We're at the Osborn's apartment. Harry and Peter are talking. Mostly Peter. He's talking about money to a rich kid. Okay. Norman calls them outside. He said he heard Peter. Peter said sorry or something. Norman said it's okay. He also congratulated him on the job. Then puts down Harry as in the comics and films. Peter tries to defend him. Then out of nowhere, Vulture comes in and picks up Norman by his shoulders. Peter tells Harry to call the police. Peter takes off his shoes and jumps off the ledge. Okay, I know someone on here will say something about this. Harry will come back, where's Peter and why are his shoes here?
Anyway, Vulture flies over the city with Norman, showing him what his invention can do. It was awesome. Vulture even did a few tricks with Norman to freak him out. Then Spidey comes in. Spidey swings after Vulture and Norman. Vulture drops Norman, and Spidey catches him. Being his sarcastic self, Spidey makes a few comments about Norman. That's because he was complaining about him. No one knew who Spidey was, Vulture thought he was a myth. Two police officers come out of a building. One male and female. Spidey drops Norman on top of the female. Why? Anyway, Norman tells them to go inside. He and the officers go back into the building. For some reason, I can't remember what comes next. I think Vulture flies away.
New scene. Peter and Gwen go to Doc Connors' lab. Eddie Brock is working for Curt. His wife is there too. All their voices sounded great. But Martha's voice, Curt Connors' wife, sounded a lot like Donna Murphy who plays Otto's wife in Spider-Man 2. I also think something is going to happen with the job, that makes Eddie hate Peter. Eddie just graduated before the Summer where Peter goes to school. Connors reconizes Peter from a few months ago. Connor shows Peter and Gwen what they're working on. As well as Connors taking a shot with green liquid. That was in the beginning of the scene. I think either in this episode or episode two, Martha tells Curt that Billy is getting sleepy and they're going home. Billy is Curt and Martha's son.
New scene. Peter is going to the Daily Bugle. He's in his regular clothes. Security wouldn't let him in. J. Jonah Jameson was PERFECT! I loved the voice. J.J. thought he was someone else. Betty Brant's voice was good too. She looked like she was in her early 20's. Peter told him why he was there, but J.J. got security on him. Robbie was there too, but didn't say anything. Then while Peter and the guards went into the eleveter, J.J. says Peter's idea and job he wanted. Which was to get pictures of Spider-Man. It was like Hoffman naming Ock scene in Spidey 2.
New scene. Norman is coming out of a limo, but Vulture comes out of nowhere again. Norman quickly gets back into the limo and the driver drives off. But the Vulture rips through the ceiling of the car. He then cuts in all the way with his wing. Spidey comes in and sits down quickly being sarcastic. It was great! Then Vulture fights Spidey. It's the clip we got a few weeks ago. Him running on roof tops, with a webline connected to Vulture. (This battle seemed almost like the never met before. Which was a little confusing it seemed like something was missing. It may be confusing to younger kids.) Anyway, The Enforcers come in in a helicopter. They fire a net thing and captures Spidey. He shoots a webline out which goes onto a gargoyal. It falls down. Then Spidey lands onto a roof, where there just happens to be a hilicopter landing pad. But it never lands. Two of the three Enforcers come out and fight Spidey. One that's like a Ninja and one big and strong one. The big and strong guy grabs Spidey, Spidey says something sarcastic. He and the ninja one fight. Spidey beats the ninja one. Then the pilot shoots a laser at Spidey. Spidey leaps off the roof, but the big and strong one jumps onto him. Spidey gets away from him, and webs his hands up to a flag poll. The Vulture goes after Spidey. The helicopter follows. Spidey has an idea. He hides on the bottom of the helicopter, and Vulture thinks Spidey thinks he can't see him. But Spidey jump out from under the helicopter. Gets onto Vultures back and chops off his right wing from the back blade. The helicopter goes out of control and disappears, I think. Spidey messes up the insides of the main control unit for Vulture's flying device. He lands on the ground, I think. Then something happens. I can't remember.
Last scene. It ends with Peter going back home. Then the sky turns into what looks like the Spider-Signal. Which looks like his mask.
That's the whole episode. Some things may be missing or not in order, but that's pretty much it. I give this episode 5 out of 5. :D

That was it! Isn't that another name for a vulture? I think it is.
But I really thought the blowing of the figures was very funny! :D Also how did I do on remembering the episode? Since I did it about an hour after seeing it. I have a good memory. But for some reason the second episode got all messed up in my mind from watching two in a row. :(

Thank you. Didn't you think Harry's voice was somewhat high? I did. Like I said. But while writing, I realized it was probably because his voice was changing. :)

I didn't say it was bad. Once I got use to him talking when he first came in the show, I liked it. It's just I got use to James Franco's voice as well as remembering the one from the 90's. I liked it though. It fit the character well for this season. Hopefully the character will mature while in the show, as well as his voice to go along with it. :spidey_thumbs: I would laugh if he still had the voice and he became someone like NG. You know? It just wouldn't fit well.

I loved this episode.
All the villains jam-packed into this and yet it manages not to feel crammed. Characterization is dead on. Great animation, etc. If they keep this up it will officially be my favorite Spider-Man cartoon.

I LOVE THIS SHOW! This is definitive Spider-Man right here.
I was kind of wondering where MJ was though, until I remembered they are taking alot of stuff from the comics, so (SPOILERS, kind of) at some episode, Anna Watson and Aunt May will set up a blind date between them and Peter won't want to do it. I hope we don't have to wait too long for that though.

I was working. I am going to watch it though and probably buy it when it comes out on DVD/Blue-Ray. (if I have a blue-ray player by then)
Sticking to the comics is going to earn them some respect from the fans like me.

I've seen this episode and I have to say I LOVED IT!!!
Me and my little bro watched it together and had alot of fun. It was very true to the comics on the whole. All the characters were linked in a pretty well written story. I loved seeing the enforcers and hearing the big man! When JJ came out of his office he said : Fosswell! You all know what that means. And THE VULTURE was simply great. Great voice acting and I think if he looked like that I'd except him in a movie even!
4 STARS!!!

I just downloaded survival of the fittest and I have to say, I had my doubts about this show but I have to say, I'm really impressed and this one episode alone imo really hghlights just how uncreative those in charge of the movies are. Action packed, lively, witty and very nostalgic to the golden era of spidey comics. I see this show lasting a long time and I'm just loving the little throw backs to the comics and the builds up we're getting. Did anyone see Foswell? Haha that was gold!
Osborn is a right a -hole, even in the face of adversity, even death, he still had the nerve to spout sardonic retorts, I love peter's character, the show gave him balls and that is what I was hoping to see in the movies but no. God bless the this team involved with this show. This show is easily the closest representation to bringing back what Lee/Ditko envisioned for a contemporary setting.
I'm trying to find the 2nd episode to download....
this show thus far gets a 10/10.

Hey Spidey Fans!!!
I actually like the show so far, and how they didnt wastse any time cutting into the story/battle with the villians. The voice for Spidey is pretty good and the jokes and punchlines are the usual Spidey stuff. I dont know, but im not feeling how they dre Parker's nose so much, looks weird. As for the theme song, it's pretty catchy, but not as good as the 90's one of course.lol

Hey Spidey Fans!!!
Thanks shadow spidey, things are going great so far, getting into the video game industry. haha, that too, it's a mole i believe on his face. Other than that, the character models are flawless Toomes with big nose, and Osborn with the hair somewhat resembling the old school Osborn. They're going through the villians pretty fast it seems, hopefully they intertwine them in even bigger story plots since they've brought them into existence now. It's about time they made another spidey series!:yay:

Hey there. I haven't been very active with Spider-man lately, so I finally decided to watch this episode. I was dreading it at first, but like so many others who have commented, I loved it! They really do have the series going off close to the comics which is a nice treat indeed for myself. At last, a show that finally sticks close to the comic I cherished growing up.

Sorry for the bump... But I'm doing this to ask... Did you notice that when Peter and Gwen learnt that they were going to work at the E.S.U., on the black board behind the teacher, the name of the first 3 episodes was written (Survival of the Fittest, Interactions, Natural Selection)? :D
