This is the discussion thread for Season 1's Episode 4 "Market Forces."
It airs this Saturday morning on Kids' WB on the CW. March 22, 2008.

Plot: While Peter Parker resists taking on responsibility of helping Aunt May pay the bills, Montana the Big Man's Enforcer - becomes the stunning Shocker to fulfill his responsibility: eliminating the Spectacular Spider-Man.

Hey now you mention it! Indeed, thats a bummer. Still the story will be ok. I just hope they don't dishoner the comics to many times. Cause it was so true to the 60's mostly this series!!

Wow, my favorite episode yet! I loved that ending with Norman and Hammerhead and the talk about MJ. Shocker was badass, I had faith in their direction with the character too. Can't wait for next week's episode, it looks like it might top this one.

Pete just can't get a break can he? His friends all hate him, he got turned down for a date, Harry's dad is hired to create supervillains, and his aunt wants him to meet a girl with a wonderful personality. Typical Parker luck.

Did I mention how much I love this show? I love how they make this one continuing story. I'm kind of wondering what Harry's gonna do later on, seeing as Norman's pep talk gave him an idea of some sort. Please don't let him turn on Peter.

petes luck sucks. i liked the cameo by eddie brock, cause he seems pissed. i also like how osborn has been employed to try out his tactics on crooks because it explains why o'herin and marko are both turned to villians in consecutive weeks. and it also will explain that norman turns himself to the goblin to fufill his deal with the big man.

and on that goblin note, i don't know what harry has decided by the end of the episode. i thought it was just to bring gwen to the dance even though pete didn't want him to. did anyone else notice ned leeds? aparently he works at the daily bugle...

This show as been so good so far and "Market Forces" has been the best episode to date, i love how it set up a lot of future stories and for once i actually really liked Shocker and thought of him as a threat. Don't mind the change of the character i actually enjoy the Montana character. Looking forward to seeing Sandman this week!

Seriously? This is the only episode I've seen of the series so far but it was pretty good except for making one of the Enforcers, Montana, into the Shocker instead of Herman Shultz.
I wish I had noticed Ned Leeds at the Daily Bugle but I'll be able to watch it again on youtube!

Did anyone else notice that if Peter hadn't taken JJJ's advice (Aunt May asks why he smells like tomatos at the end), he might still smell like garbage? LOL! JJJ to the rescue!
