i am happy to hear that chamelion will be saved for his own episode, and i really like the plot lines here. i do think they will make black spidey a big jerk, and make him progressivly worse, because they are stretching the storyline over 3 episodes. they have done everything right so far, and i am sure they won't fail for this episode. the only thing i don't understand is... if mysterio isn't introduced here when will he be? sinister six episode is next right?

Yes! Chameleon. The first villain to frame Spidey in this show and the comics.

Is it possible for Spidey to get the symbiote at the end of The Uncertainty Principle? They don't mention anything about him getting the suit here.

kraven and mysterio have to be introduced soon for the sinister 6 to be in true form, so i am beginning to believe this sinister 6 will be altered slightly. i wouldn't be surprised to see rhino instead of kraven, as he was one of the villians created by norman osborne. and maybe chamelion will take mysterio's place. we'll have to wait and see i guess.

as for this episode, i can't wait to see spidey team up with someone for the first time. especially if he is recieving the black suit, this episode could be verrry interesting.

i am too man, but i don't see the point in people not being open to different interpretations of the villian. its not as if herman shultz was that interesting of a guy. in the show, montana actually works well as shocker, because he owes a debt to the big man. maybe in the sinister 6 episode they will get things straightened out.

Indeed. Should be interesting as Spidey's never fought the Six with the symbiote, so it should be a great help to Spidey in battle.

You're operating on the assumption that it will bond to the suit and not Peter. It bonded to the suit only in the movie. In the comics and previous cartoons, it bonded to Peter, did it not? So the Venom symbiote probably won't LET him take it off, since it can change its appearance to match clothes.
It takes a great deal of sonic power to seperate the symbiote from its host, the host doesn't just take it off like in SM3.

While I do agree with most that they should save the Symbiote, I think its good either way. But they don't have time for Secret Wars, or anything else. But Black Spidey looks beast. Can't wait.

thats the beauty of the storyline. even though the suit is helping him swing faster and punch harder, it is ruining his relationships with the ones he loves and is blurring his sense of right and wrong. i hope that before peter takes of the symbiote we see a flashback to uncle ben giving the power and responsibility speech, because we have not gotten it yet, and i think it would work well here. i can't wait to see the unique situations they put black spidey in (black cat, sinister six). should be some fun episodes!

PS - The reason they probably chose not to give the kids' cartoon Black Cat the comic book dimensions of the Black Cat are because it gives a negative message to young girls that they have to be of playmate proportions to be considered sexy.

i agree. its time for black cat to come into the spotlight as more then just a catwoman rip off. she is much more then that, and by making her character more main stream it gives her a much better chance at being in a film.

That's how it's been done in ASM and Spider-Man 3. I don't think they can really have him take it to the FF at this point.

I so wish we had the Fantastic 4 in there. I heard that Human Tourch was going to be in the show, but they couldn't clear the rights.:(

i can't wait for this episode! black cat will be a good way to emphisize the change in peter's personality. next week's episode will be good in emphisizing spidey's new skillz. i think they will handle the symbiote well and give it the perfect tone of mystery and soon as a villian. i also am still waiting for eddie brock to enter back into the show... its time to get some development for his spidey hatred!

well saturday mourning cartoons are not that new... at all. they cartoons have been around since like the beginning of time more like when my day was a kid, but still if anything new cartoon episodes have been appearing more after school than on the weekends.

I personally don't have any dislike towards harry being the goblin. I just think the writers are smart enough to continue twisting the plot later on. And I think the clues lead to Norman. If it is Harry..then thats fine. I think it's really fun to speculate! That's why it's such a good show!

i think it would be very interesting for chamelion to have been dressed up like norman in that scene, and it would make for a cool plot twist, but i think the order is a little off. its hard to explain, but usually for a twist like this chamelion should have already appeared so it makes sense. it would seem strange to me for them to reveal chamelion was imitating norman osborn in that scene when he was not in the episode or the story arch, and there were no real clues pointing towards him.

As i've said before, why would the writers dedicate a scene just to see norman at work and to see the goblin steal the gobweb device? It's kind of a useless scene...unless there was something more to it... In fact, the gobweb didnt have to be included and considering its a 20min show, the audience doesn't need to see norman working because it just wastes time (we know he works).

Again, I'll use the black cat example. did the audience know that black cat was walking across the screen? Most likely the kids who don't know spiderman also didnt know it was blackcat just casually walking by. did we know she was stealing some cash? we can assume all these things and yet she hasnt been introduced to the audience. wouldn't it make sense that both black cat and chameleon had previously appeared without the audience maybe not noticing. That way, they might recall them appearing earlier or when they watch the episode again, they'll distinguish the characters this time later on.

If you were a fan: you would know its black cat AND chameleon because your a fan (i.e. you know there characteristics and powers)! If your not a fan, then you probably wouldn't know both. Secondly, Norman asks, "As to why he would attack me...." he never mentions any attack at oscorp that your talking about. In fact, norman was never attacked at oscorp and has conveniently never been attacked at all. Norman was talking about why harry threw him against a wall. ANd harry doesn't even respond, so I'm not sure what your talking about when you say harry also knew about the attack?

Again, I would like to say that I have no personal motive that wants the goblin to be norman. I said this before, if they didn't show these scenes that show clues, then i would be satisfied that harry is the goblin.

3: They kept Chameleons russian background
4: The ending was awesome, with the kiss. My heart skipped a beat during that scene. I didn't see it coming.
5: They should Eddie's hate for Spiderman and Parker, which will help for Venom later on and added on to the reasons to hate Parker.
6: The black costume was awesome. The way it amplified his powers, kept the same power it had in the comics (i.e. Turning into his clothes, webbing) and the way it covered hium when he got angry, and even made hims tronger when he was angry and. And it also started how peter turns evil (somewhat) during this episode

All in all, great episode :spidey_thumbs:

Love it!! The way the symbiote is being presented is great. Really liking that.

Spidey and Black Cat's interactions were nice, hope they team up again. They worked well together. Loved that boat chase sequence at the end. Some pretty animation there.

Beck and Mason's appearances were nice, marking Phineas Mason's first appearance in animation. If anything I'm more excited to see Mason officially become the Tinkerer in season 2.

Really enjoyed this. Just one thing, not enough Chameleon as himself! Easily one of my favorites so far.

Thanks for the correction spider-man guy about the Chameleon's goon #1. I knew it had to be either Mason or Smythe! I must have been getting my cereal and missed that part of the introduction, because all I caught was that he was a mechanical whiz.

But on a negative note, Eddie's through with Peter, and Peter's gonna go through two episodes of symbiote influence. I'm a little worried. I'd just like if Peter beat up his enemies a lttle more. That'd be enough character change for me. I find the mind-control schtick on main characters overrated in television.

This episode was really good.
-Black Cat was hot and I loved how she flirted with Spidey.
-The Black Suit is great, but we haven't actually seen Peter become aggressive, just cocky. I bet the agression will be unleashed when he fights the Sinister Six next episode.
-Chameleon should work on his Spidey lines next time he tries to impersonate him. Speaking of, it's a shame Beck won't do the "framing Spider-Man" story now when he becomes Mysterio. That's always classic.
-Anyone else notice the opening credits now have MJ in place of Harry?

Doc Ock, Rhino, Sandman, Shocker, Electro and Vulture.

I would think they would show that once they go to the College Years, because the Death of Jean DeWolfe (who secretly loves Spider-Man) and anything with Sin-Eater would be a very dark episode indeed! They probably won't delve into that type of stuff for a Saturday morning cartoon.

Yeah it was a great episode. One of the best black suit adaptions of all time... If the next episode is as good it might just beat TAS's "the Alien Suit Sage".

For me this wins the awards for best adapted camelleon and best adapted black cat since the comic books.

Shocker is a very popular Spider-Man villain. It's just that the ones who don't like him mock him all the time. They do that to all the Spidey villains they don't like though, so it's nothing new.

i think shockers awesome but he doesn't really have a origin story and it is not that interesting. its basically a guy who becomes a criminal using these gauntlets that produce sonic blasts. you can't compare him to other villains like gg or venom because you can't change their identities that would be stupid, but for shocker you can put any character as shocker and it wouldn't make a difference. so basically i don't care who is shocker as long as he looks the way he does and still has those gauntlets he uses.

i think they should stick with the belltower origin of venom, because it has become a part of the character. i do believe they are going to do a great job with venom, and the action will be amazing, but i hope they make eddie's hatred for peter deeper in this coming episode. make it so eddie wants peter dead, not just that he is upset with peter. did anyone else notice the mention of peter and eddie's parents dying in the airplane crash?

but as for this episode, i thought it was a good episode, but no better then any of the others. the show's greatness has almost become commonplace, but you still have to appreciate them setting up the black cat for the future, and nailing chamelion's character so that he is not so one-dimmentional. i love the connection of mysterio and the tinkerer to chamelion, and i hope the chamelion is connected to kraven too. they foreshadowed dark peter's personality change, but they focused more on the new powers this episode which was good. they need to get back into peter's personal life, but at the same time, there is going to be a lot of action next week!

also, i will say that there is now an argument for the chamelion as norman theory, because chamelion does have the disguise. the fact that he was dressed as norman does not make it a fact that he was disguised as norman last episode. it seems as if we will not get any more info on the goblin storyline until the last episode if at all this season, so we will all have to wait to see who is who.

i agree that eddie's modivation has been weak so far, but they can make up for it in the coming episode. somethingreally bad has to happen to eddie though.
