i mean they never saw each other in school and she LOOKS older.

I doubt it. They never saw each other because they went to different schools. In the comics, MJ was actually about a year younger than Peter. But they could decide to change that in the show.

No they did the same thing in the show. Aunt May even told Peter the same thing, that she's a year younger in one of the episodes.
