Well, in this case Wikipedia is right. (amazing isn't it?) Greg Weisman has stated that they're planning 5 seasons, 13 each, 65 total, telling the high school years. They're also planning a series of DTV movies from his college years which will be a little more mature than the series. Sounds good to me.:yay:

Man this is awesome news I'm really surprised on how this show turned out. To be honest when i saw the first picture of what it was gonna look like i was kinda worried because it looked like a kiddy cartoon to me but once i saw an actual clip i was hooked and still am. Now all we need are the dvds of the series to show it in better quality, but obviously that will not be for awhile.......or will it???????

If they keep the stories fresh and fun I'd love this series to go on. And they have more story's to use since they have more supporting characters than the movies have at the moment. Simple example : Gwen and MJ are both at the moment competition for Pete, they can use the Gwen Stacy stories if they want. It just depends on if it remains fun.

If so : YAY

happy and sad
I remember how I liked The Batman series. however the lack of enimes was an annoance. No Two-Face, no Scarecrow, no Mad Hatter, no Deadshot, no Hush. And that series had five seasons as well

I really hope to see the major villains that were not shown this season in the upcoming seasons.
I hope to see scorpion, mysterio, jackal, hobgoblin, morbius(who actually sucks blood), etc etc
still i have very high hopes for the next season and up coming seasons!

It really did suck that The Batman couldn't use Two-Face, Scarecrow, or Ra's al Ghul. Stupid Bat-Embargo. I don't see any reason they couldn't have used Mad Hatter though. But I can understand Deadshot since he's an assassin (though he's going to be sweet in the Gotham Knight DTV). Interesting tidbit here, the show's creators were planning on a The Batman vs. Hush DTV after the Dracula one, but it was s****ped. I better get off the subject of Batman before I start talking about how awesome The Dark Knight will be. Whoops, too late. :o

Anyway, back to Spidey. So far the only villain that I've heard can't be on the show is Kingpin, since he's part of the Daredevil franchise, even though they aren't doing anything with it. What a shame. Scorpion and Hobgoblin has been confirmed for Season 3 already, but I haven't heard about Morbius yet, but I'm hoping for him too. Plus, Quentin Beck was part of Chameleon's group in "Persona." As for Jackal, well you know one of Peter's teachers is name Mr. Warren. ;)

There might be after they have done all the major storys and villians, But i'd rather they just keep Spidey as the main Superhero of this show ;)

Yeah agreed Max, I loved TAS but I'd like to have this series stick completely to the Spidey universe, the amount of stories from the comics is rich enought for this anyway.

Defintly, there are so many storys to tell and charcters to introduce from the Spidey Universe so i think they should just concintrate on that.

I remember hearing that Spider-Man was going to team up with the Human Torch in this season, but they ran into the same problems as they did with Kingpin. Darn lawyers...

I understand what you're saying. I've seen, too many shows go under because they kept going when they should have stopped.

I say that if it comes to choosing between keeping the show going and keeping the show good they should stop.

So far I haven't seen any sign of this show loosing its awesomeness though. I say as long as they can write good stories, they should keep writing them.

i can definatly see good storylines for more then 3 seasons. also, i feel new villians can be introduced to cover 3 seasons worth of episodes, and if you reuse some of the villians you can get to season 4.

hero teamups will be necessary, and i do not see anything wrong with them. sometimes it is interesting to see spidey deal with other heros from the marvel universe. however, i do not want spidey to fight obscure villians and deal with repetative problems by season 5. i have faith that the creators will be able to keep up the good work and make every season fun, but the longer the show goes on the harder it will be to stay creative.

here i go again to the batman thing
The Batman had team ups in its final season. But also had his usual cronies helping him out in seasons earlier. So maybe we will more to the black cat, and maybe they will go old school and do an Spider-Man and his Amazing friends thing.

I think I read something about Mysterio being in it too. It would make sense, cause Quentin Beck made an appearance, so it would only be right they introduce him in the next season.

With all the story lines and all the vilains in the Spider-Man universe, I see this show going on for quite a while. ;)
As for Marvel Team Ups, I'd be fine with that as long as the interaction between the characters is handled well. :spidey_cheers:

They had Black Cat this season. I count that as a superhero team-up. When I was growing up, "Marvel Team-Up" was all about Spider-man + Guest Star and was one of my favorite books. The creators have said they want to do one guest star super hero per season and I see the inclusion of the Black Cat in season one as a clear indication that they are going to try to stick to that.

They can do other superhero guests from the Spider-man universe without having problems with rights issues... how about Cloak and Dagger, or Black Widow, or Spider Woman?

I would like to see some team ups... but not alot... once now and again. Keep it mainly focused on Spiderman. The show is doing great, and yes I saw in a post here, Quentin Beck is Mysterio in the first episode. I say 65 episodes isnt bad. Its an alright number... but if the show stays a success I think they should decide to continue into more seasons of it.

I'm pretty sure they'll extend it.
As long as the show stays at the quality it's at now.

I hope that they get my favorite writer, David Slack, involved at some point.
