How many of you think the Spiderman Franchise should be Rebooted ???

Marvel Studios has now proven with both Iron-man and The Newest edition of the Hulk that they can stay true to the Characters source material and orgin and still make a picture that is good for both the Comic fan and the general viewing public.

With that said we have seen lost movie Franchises such as Batman and now the Hulk remake themselves into better true visions of both their makeup, orgin, and story.

Now everyone should realize that Spiderman made the money it did because it was Spiderman, not because of how the movies turned out, Spiderman is the greatest of all Superheros and the **** Movies that Sam Riami produced and directed proves that because anything else made with the mistakes that ALL THREE Spiderman films were loaded with would have been a Total BOMB !!!

Fans all the world tryed hard to like and even accept these SM Films but now enough time has passed so we can look at them for what they really are. First and Foremost they did nothing for the Character of Spiderman, they actually held him back and Destroyed much of the longtime story that we have loved for years. Spiderman's Orgin is one of the most perfect stories ever, Yet Riami who clearly never read the Comics decided he would change it which by itself is enough reason to get rid of him before he has a chance to ruin another Spiderman Film. My list of utter failures follows below.......

1.) Tobey is no Peter Parker, Peter might have been a nerd in High School, but once he got his Powers, Went though the Uncle Ben Disaster, and became a Super-Hero, He became a Bad-*** with a Attiutude. Tobey has no of the Comedic flare of the Real Peter Parker and plays the Character too tight with no sense of Humor, he just does no justice to the Role at all, We need a New Peter Parker.

2.) Mary Jane was written and Penciled as a Beautiful Supermodel, who could have any man in the World. Kristen Dunst is just a plain jane who is nothing special to look at, Mary Jane falls in Love with Peter because he is a normal guy with a flare that because she is getting saved by Spiderman 10 times a week. And Thats another thing, Mary Jane is in the thick of the action TOO MUCH, It like all Riami is doing is remaking the same movie with different villians and in the process messing up the villians as well. Kristen Dunst needs to go and they need to get someone who can Act in the role of MJ.

3.) Whoever came up with the uniform of the Green Goblin needs to go to work on the Power Rangers TV series, They would fit in Better There, The Goblin in that laughable outfit could only put fear into 3 yr old kiddies, not into anyone else and it was not believable at all. GG should have been in made in a horror image like a real Goblin who could actually move his mouth when he talked for crying out loud...............

4.) Doc Ock was never a Smart, College Professor, He was a Mad Sciencetist who spent every waking hour in his lab perfecting experiments and driving himself crazy, he had no family to speak of and when the accident happened he was driven over the edge and the arms drove him into becoming one of Spiderman deadiest foes. He would have never saved the day by destroying his own invention. The Ending of SM2 does not flow with the feeling of the Comics at all.

5.) SM3 was a total hackjob, they messed up Vemon Utterly, Messed up the orgin of the Alien Suit, Messed up Sandman, Messed up Harry Osborn and made him more like the Rocket Racer than any Goblin I know of. Riami proved himself once and for all to be a hack director.

6.) Whats the purpose of a Bruce Campbell cameo in every movie in a different bit role each time, I like Bruce Campbell, if you must have him, make him a Spiderman Villian like the Shocker, or Electro or Mysterio, someone that appears and fights Spiderman briefly but always escapes, that would be more in line with the Comics than what they have done with BC.

Sorry for the long rant, but the Spiderman movies in this state does nothing for me or the Thousands of fans who have always loved Spiderman, The Franchise needs a total reboot with a new Director, new Writer who has actually read the comics, New Cast and New Beginning.................

Spider-Man means the world to me man, he's my childhood superhero, I've read loads of comics, seen loads of TV and am into many more things of Spider-Man.

But I didn't hate the movies, stronger than that, Spider-Man 1 and 2 are the best, they top Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and Batman Begins. And I respect your opinion but it's not as if I'm the only one who thinks it, I mean critics top choice is still Spider-MAn 2 and not any other.

I do agree that the succes is because of SPIDER-MAN, the greatist superhero ever, and not cause of the actual movie.

Another major beef I have is with the obmission of Gwen Stacy, Think of it this way, What if we Imagine a world when Sam Raimi actually read the Spidey books and decided he was going to true to the Orgin of the Character then Spiderman one would have looked like this ........................
The Opening would be in a High School Gym where Peter Parker getting up the nerve to ask Gwen Stacy out on a Date, However Flash and his Buddies in a pickup basketball game rush over and basically kick the Nerd Parker out of the way and pick up Gwen instead They explain they are all going to a big Party after School and anyone who is anyone will be there, Parker says he is going to a Science Experiment to get xtra credit. They all laugh it off and leave inculding Harry who decides to go to the Party with Flash and his buddies. Peter goes on to a seedy governmental building when they are conducting the first stages of a Radioactive teleosopic event, unbeknowst to anyone a tiny Spider has decended into the beam of waves being obmitted by the crude device. Peter standing further away then anyone else is amazing and pays little attention when the Spider managing to leap half way across the home and land on his shoulder, beginning a slow but sudden crawl to his hand and then bites him in a last gasp of life. Peter feeling the flush of Spider-vemon rush though his veins runs out into the Street where he collaspes. He awakes in his bed days later and discovers he no longer needs his glasses, he also discovers that his body has underwent startling changes. One by One Peter Parker soon discovers that he is no longer a simple little nerd kid but has actually somehow amazingly obsorbed the Abilities of a Spider, Meanwhile far across Town Norman Osborn, a Mega-Manic Techo boss is busy developing projects for the Military when he drinks a experimental supersoldier forum that was unperfected, it works almost instantly granting him a healing factor and Superhuman strength but also driving him insane, The first move of the Green Goblin is to kill all of the lab techs working on the Armies new Rocket Gliders that were leased to Obcorp INC. After the Uncle Ben Disaster and Peter accepting the role of Superhero, We find Spiderman in the Red&Blue all over town in a montage of Action inculding webbing a Helicopter to a building stopping a high-tech bank robbery. We also see the first confrontation of a Mean, nasty looking Green Goblin and Spiderman. We meet JJJ and all of his cohorts at the Daily Bugle who begin their campaign to paint Spidey in the worst light possible unbeknowst to them their newest hire is Spiderman. The Climax is stunning as is the final confrontation between Spidey and Goblin, by this time Peter has grown a set and is dating Gwen Stacy, The Goblin finds out that Peter is Spiderman and sets in to Attack him by attacking those he loves, his first target is Gwen, The Climax has Gwen Stacy thrown off a Bridge by a mercliess Green Goblin, She is caught by Spideys Web but it is too late the force of the fall has killed her, Enraged Spidey unleashes all of his strength and Power against the Goblin who struggles to escape, the Goblin is then killed when he resorts to using his Glider to stab Spiderman whose Spiderman enables him to evade and the Glider rams into the Beaten Goblin instead, Harry then pledges to have Revenge on Spiderman and We see a brief Cameo of Doctor Octopus at the end...........................

(Mary Jane did not need a bigger role until later on in the series........)

What you have to try and do is look at these movies as elseworlds stories. They are a retelling. All you can hope for is that it is enjoyable and entertaining.

Spider-Man 1 and 2 were. Spider-Man 3 was not. The changes made in that were just lame and cringeworthy.

ok your points are **** for one thing with the goblin thing accept change some of you comic geeks or minor comic fans have to look at the comics and realize they are not the perfect stories. there not! change can and will be made with these movies. #1 the story will be modernized. #2 the story will be changed to be movie worthy. hulk is a prime example of these changes. for one thing his origin is just not believable anymore. also he has little story with not famous villains. it is very hard to make a movie with hulk.

also i just have to say that i said that people care to much of the character's appearance and not character and most people believe this untrue and obviously go with character over apperance. i even made a thread about this and you still did the same thing. now here we got this guy who is complaining about gg's look and just completely ignores the great character that villain had. i mean his character made that villain great not his costume.

of course you can't cast the comics aside but you can't make the movie exactly like them thats not movie worthy thats cartoon movie worthy which have good stories but only 90 min. stories that only the fans of that hero will get. all you need is the basic things of certain aspects of the stories.

most super hero movies are stuck in a big cliché with the damsel in distress now that is going away super hero movies are begining to become quality movies by getting out of that rut i mean you must admit the sm movies were in that rut. it almost seemed impossible to get out of it. but now these recent movies are getting ****her and ****her away from that big cliche starting with iron man the leading lady was never in the clutches of the bad guy screaming for help she was pretty much an equal to iron by helping him out and stuff. hulk has steared away from that too. betty was never in the villains grasps and was in little distress but not that big cliche.

It CAN BE DONE and the New Hulk Movie and Iron Man prove it, minor changes is no problem but you DO NOT do what Sam Riami did and flip the Characters whole universe, create new traits and put people in strange places that they never appeared in the books. You attempt to stay true to the orgin and the books and still create a believable, profitable, and fun picture, Spiderman was Profitable because its Spiderman but the Changes and the to totally ignore the natural state of the Character and make it anew is totally unacceptable.

I know goblins costume sucked but Willem Dafoe made a good performance and the movie in general was great Spiderman 2 even better although I do agree Dock Ock shouldn't have killed himself Spiderman 3 was a major dissapointment especially since this was the one movie that we had all waited on for 3 years after spidey 2 and after hearing that Venom was in it we obviously couldn't wait to see it but Raimi's dislike towards Venom ruined the movie and let's face it Sandman didn't deserve to be in the movie and the goblin storyline should have been dropped in the first one just make Harry hate Spiderman

i wouldn't make mj appear in the third just like that maybe have her have a small appearance in the first and then have her more of a promenent character in the second and then in the third have her get together with peter.
also i disagree with what you said about harry should not have become the goblin. people forget but after spiderman 2, fans where excited for harry becoming a goblin not venom that was absent from peoples minds at the time. by the time the poster came out we were blinded by venom's coolness.
there should have been no venom or sandman only harry and maybe another because when your out for revenge your first fight will be one to the death and that doesn't last a 2 hour movie. maybe have him create a plot to kill peter as harry but when it fails he goes to use the goblin serum. maybe his plot could have been scorpion who targets peters loved ones that would make sense and when spiderman defeats him and then he figures out that harry was who sent him he goes after harry who unknown to peter has taken the goblin serum and then they have a big battle. i don't really know what the peter side of the movie would be though.

I hoped that it's just a joke, but as it seems, it's no. I've waited for almost 3 years after Spiderman 3, I was so excited and now this... I hate the idea. If they would have done 4+5 like the have promised and then rebooted, I wouldn't have said a thing. But this... just sucks... I think I'm gonna cry< my hearts out. *yeah*

I think, Spider-Man movies is not as perfect I aspected. But, they still a greatest science fiction movies there is. I don't like the organic web, I don't like Peter not look as smart i n the comics, I don't like MJ looks like Karen Page or Gwen Stacy characters. But, come on it's the first time. Look the first Captain America, Batman or Superman movies.
Spider-Man have a opportunity to become the succesfull moivies all time. Let be done what it should.
