Sounds cool, but I rather wait until they make one with all the episodes from season one. I don't really like these DVDs of TV Shows that only has 3-5 episodes and not all of them. I'll past, but thanks for the news.

So this is a DVD with only a quarter of the episodes from Seasion 1. Why don't they just release the whole season right away? i would have bought that right away. Now we have to wait for 4 DVD's to come out first before getting the whole set? That's stinks.

I basically wanna get a full-season DVD to see the special features and watch the show on TV, since I have no cable. But at the same time, I don't per say NEED it since I have every episode on my computer.

Where are you reading that this is a DVD that has 4-5 episodes of season 1? I thought it was something new having episodes that haven't been seen. So we have something until season 2 begins.
The only episode that has the Lizard is episode 3: Natural Selection. None of the episodes are titled as Natural Selection.
I guess we'll have to see. But I thought it was something new. With new episodes so we have something until S2.

If they were new episodes then they'd let us know in some big annoucement. I highly doubt it. In fact, I'm pretty certain these are the old episodes. CHeck out the interview with Greg, he says.

Yeah i found out on another thread.
But honestly I hate the idea of putting a few episodes on 1 DVD. What is the frekin point? It's a huge waste of money, especially when you know a DVD can handle so much more, it's annoying and wastes more money if you're planning on buying all of them, and it makes the wait for the whole set ever longer. I was looking forward to buying the whole set, but now I know I'll have to wait all the longer. It'd make sense if it was on VHS cause they always have about 3-4 episodes but this is truly ridiculous.

I'll wait for the whole season set to come out. Not a big fan of "divide the season up and sell them seperately". So I'm betting the 2nd one will have 5-9 and the third will have 10-13.

It's just to market it off more so they can make more money before releasing the full set. That's what it all really comes down to...$...Plus I can see this attracting the eye of a lot of young kids with that great cover art. And it doesn't even sound like the announcement really indicates its actually three individual episodes (that everyone has most likely seen). This will make even more of a reason for people to buy them since they may believe that they're new episodes. Then again, I haven't read the back cover...

If it's a way to deliberately deceive people just to buy 3 episodes then that's really cheap, even through a marketing perspective.

there are 4 dvds so the first one will have 1-3, the second will have 4-6, then 7-9, and finally 10-13. this way the episodes each cover a different arch. introduction, big man, goblin, symbiote.

Also, if you look at the front cover, it shows Vulture, Electro, and the Lizard, the 3 first villains of the 3 first episodes. I'm pretty sure it's the old episodes.

not buying it, even though the cover looks cool, like everyone said its just 3 episodes. Its called attack of the lizard because you can categorize the whole season into story arcs, which Greg Weisman said they were doing for dvd purposes.
Episodes 1-3: Lizard arc
Episodes 4-6: Big Man arc
Episodes 7-9: Goblin arc
episodes 10-13: symbiote arc
no point in only getting 3 episodes when I can watch 'em all for free on youtube. so i'm just going to wait for the whole season

Exactly. It's simply an evolutionary way of ripping us off. A long time ago they did all they could when the DVD was at their disposal. It was the new thing and they took the DVD to the max advantage. Now all you have is a lame 3 episodes per DVD. THey've gotten greedy and are using the DVD about a 10th it's capacity.

Yeah the simpsons has good dvds. they released the season on one dvd for for family guy for the first 3 seasons, but then they started to release half seasons. what i don't get is why for season 5 of family guy they only released 13 episodes on dvd when that whole season is 18 episodes

I guess that's true, but it'll probably be $20 to get the entire series on DVD when they release it (been that way with Titans and Batman). Kinda be a waste of money when you can get more for the same price later. http://fc07.deviantart.com/fs4/i/2004/248/1/4/Anime_in_the_21st_Century_by_solargeometry.gif

And what's even worse is it's 3 episodes. THREE. Not half or whatver but it's as bad as it gets. They're turning DVDs into VHSs because when seasons were released on VHS they were always 3 to 4 episodes. They're VHSing DVDs when they can clearly use DVDs to it's fullest capacity.

Featurette: The Spectacular Spider-Man Music Video
Two things: I wonder how the music video for this will compare to the music videos of the past such as the PokeRap and the full-length Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi song for Teen Titans. Those were both pretty cool and I'm anxious to see how the entire song is for Spectacular Spider-Man and to see what kind of video they package with it.
Thing #2: If this one's rated Y7, I wonder if they all will be rated that or if they will each have different ratings and that's their excuse to release them independently as well as maybe in the future as a season.

Well, I just went to see Wall-e (not worth it) and they had an "AMC movie watchers network" First Look for the Spectacular Spider-Man.
It was the full theme song and they showed a bunch of clips of Spidey fighting his enemies (no Venom though). It was pretty awesome.

Not really...it's what's been done before with some cartoons. There's nothing we can do. I'm also just guessing that maybe some fans don't want the whole season and maybe want only a few select episodes to keep. I would see a greater benefit from their viewpoint too; to release mini movies in addition to a full season since it gives the public more opportunities to buy and benefit this franchise. Plus we're going to get the full season anyway, and it's not like they can't be viewed at least somewhere on some video website coughyoutubecough.

It's funny, whenever anything Spider-Man comes on (the AMC thing) everyone I know turns to look at me as if they think I'm going to start jumping up and down.

haha yeah same with me... anything that relates to spider-man they all look at me, because none of them are remotly interested in superheros or comics other then when a movie is supposed to be good. i get made fun of, but i had the last laugh with spidey 2, and i will again with the dark knight.
as for wall-e, i thought it was interesting that a kids movie would be so dark. as someone extremly afraid of what we are doing to the earth, and all the pollution we create and energy we waste, the idea of having to evacuate earth is not really that silly. with each new development in technology, and with our choice of off-shore drilling over wind or hydro power, the human race gets closer and closer to the humans portrayed in wall-e.

BAD NEWS
DVD review of Atrack of the Lizard:
"The only thing is--and fans should be warned--it's not the first season or even a collection of episodes. "The Spectacular Spider-Man: Attack of the Lizard" cobbles together the first three series installments from the 2008 series in order to create a fairly fluid 70-minute feature. I say "fairly" because knowing it's an edited and spliced production helps to explain why it feels like a kitchen-sink affair. Vulture does a fly-by, the Goblin turns up on the periphery, Electro gets a little air time, but the villains come and go in a revolving door that only slows down for any kind of development when the one-armed Dr. Curt Connors injects himself with modified lizard DNA and becomes The Lizard.

Oh... Well... There's not really a big bonus other than the song. But I just liked how they mixed everything with the transitions and everything. I mean, it's just a collection piece, I guess. But I liked it because of the last fact... When I'll have them all it will be awesome!

So tell us more about the music video, mon ami?

Thing #1: Well... It's simply the song you hear at the beginning of the episodes with the chorus repeated more times, more verses and some guitar solos added. Also, there's an awesome video with it that shows more content while it's synced. really liked it.
Thing #2: For that, I have no idea. :o
