Does anyone know how they are going to make the eyes on the spider man costume?
I always wondered what they were supposed to be made out of in the comic book, because the always changed shape with the expression his face, but they seemed to be hard and shiny like they were made of plastic or glass
Anyone have any thoughts on this ?

The eyes in the movie are more of a whiteish mirrored lens so he won't be able to express with them. However, I understand that his real eyes can be seen THROUGH them in certain shots, so Toby can still act in the suit.

I read somewhere that Oakley is making Spiderman's eyes. For sure they can make eyewear. If this is true is it supposed to be "product placement"?
Otherwise the whole suit is "tip-top".

I think that with the latest technology his expresions might be made with computer techn. This is just a guess since I have not had any info about the film so far...

Spidey's eye pieces (lenses) can be popped on and off, after the actor is already in costume. Turns out that they have three different "shades" of lenses to use. For close up work, the shade will be more opaque, where you will not see through, just reflection. The ****her the camera is away, or for high action / stunt work, a more transperant lense is used, so the actor will have better vision and field of view to work with.
I think they hit a home run with the costume and the eyes.............sort of the classic Romita looking eyes. When you stop and think how badly they could have screwed up Spidey's appearance, it's petty to nitpick about the shape of his eyes

i agree about the costume and the eyes. The short clips i've seen with the suit look real good... i really think that using cgi to create eye expressions would have been real messy- not to mention more time consuming and expensive (we want this movie to come out right?)
The company "Oakley" is responsible for Spider-Mans eyes. The guessing is over.
