Hi,
Having worked for Marvel Comics for well over 5 years, I can tell you that "comics" aren't for children anymore. Especially not when you get up into the calibure of Spiderman, DareDevil, etc.
They are created for adults, by adults.
I don't think that the spiderman movie is going to be geared to the 12 year olds because that isn't who the Spiderman comic is created for. I know for a fact that it's not being created for the 5 year olds.
However, everyone is entitled to their own opinion :-)

I'm a 37 year old who began reading comics.........when I was old enough to read. I especially loved Marvel comics, and Spidey has always been my favorite. So I can safely say that I've been waiting my whole life for this movie. And the last eight years have been one dissapointment after another until the deal finally got done to get this thing underway.
I feel that this project is in excellent hands, and is going to turn out great. Even if some of the minor details don't translate visually perfect from the books to the big screen.
who carers about tiny changes made from the comic?spiderman is gonna be the ultimate blockbuster and will wipe episode2 away!

What is trash to some is treasure to another. I'm quite sure that you find probably find what I consider essentially a child's game exciting. Imagine spending your time watching a bunch of grown men throwing a ball around. How laughable! Why don't they just grow up and put the ball down and do something more adult, such as reading or admiring art, or possibly a combination of the two by reading illustrated fiction.
I really don't have any problem with sports, but I just wanted to illustrate that what is childish to one is not to another. Simply put, what I do find childish is taking the time to register on a comics website for the sole purpose of putting down those who enjoy comics. That is just the product of a very lame mind. I think the original poster of this thread would do well to just mind their own business, and let us enjoy our pursuits while he enjoys his personal choices.

kinda funny this guy calls himself Silent Bob- the alter-ego of Kevin Smith, one of the hottest comics writers around. Either he's being sarcastic or he's an idiot....

I'm a huge fan of Spidey, but really, I don't have a lot of experience with the comics. I'm not that old compared to some of your guys(no offence). Basically, my love of Spider-Man came from the animated series, which to some of you, you might not like. I probably would read more of Spider-Man's comics if there were any comic shops around here, and if I was able to pick up the first issue of a Spider-Man comic and read in order. If anyone knows where I might be able to start getting some comics for a somewhat low price. Let me know. Thanks.

Soooooo....., Silent B. I confess when I read your post a few choice words came to mind, But after reading the (so eloquently put) replies of Those -Who -Came -Before, I can only ask;
Have you given any consideration to more seriously emulating your namesake?
