Hoping for a 2nd season, and a lot MORE classic comic book villains.
ive got a feeling there will never be a lot of classic villians... just so that they can keep open the chance of them appearing in the movies... just a feeling i have.

Yeah I've got a feeling about that too mre, but the cartoon is so unlike the movie I doubt it would make any difference.
ok so most of us have already discussed how mtv has messed up the order of each episode... i also think they are keeping some episodes from airing... i just finished watching 'mind games' part 1 (wich is the first part of the season finale) and kraven the hunter is in this one. except from the looks of things, spider-man has already encountered him and sent him to jail. JJ mentions that he escaped from prison where 'spider-man sent him'. kraven himself even sais that he is out for revenge on spider-man for putting him in jail. spider-man also sais somthgin like this too...
now... for all of you who have seen this episode (and the second part) is this somethign that the twins put inside spider-mans head? or am i right in assuming that mtv is holding back episodes, becasue when i look on the episode giude at the website has no other mention of kraven (and i have seen every episode except for part two.)
what is going on? first they ruin spider-man by writing him all wrong and putting him on mtv, and then they give us a show way out of order, and withhold episodes from us? what are they trying to pull? do they think we wont notice?

Since when did anything on MTV have any sort of intelligence and continuity to it?

They need to start basing the stories on Spider-Man's comic book story arcs; with his classic villains (Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Venom, Scorpion, Sandman, etc.) in their classic suits and supporting characters (Aunt May, Robbie, Gwen Stacy, Eddie Brock, Felicia Hardy, etc.) or they will begin to lose their die-hard audience.
The show should be its own entity, where you don't have to rely on the movie, this is where story ideas falls short.
Plus, there should be more 2 part and 3 part episodes...that leads to a grand final season; the birth of VENOM.
You wanna see ratings break animated cable records?...See the above.
the spider-man series from the 90's on fox had all of that and i dont remember it breaking any records...

The FOX 90's animated series was for little kids. With a freakin' Disney "G"...or is it "Y" rating. Spider-Man couldn't even punch anyone for the whole **** 5 seasons, because of the censors. They can accomplish more on this animated series, which is aimed at an older audience. Although, the FOX 90's series was indeed a huge monster in the ratings.

I missed a few of the eps..(sigh) just wish they'd show a Spidey marathon. It wouldnt hurt MTV to do that once and awhile (since they get to air all of their other junk back to back) So why not Spidey right?

In the "Mind Games" episodes, inspired by the movie Mulholland Drive, the Gaines twins are inside Spider-Man's head for pretty much most of the two-part episode. Pterodax and Silver Sable were freed all in his head. Spider-Man revealing his true identity to MJ and her death at the hands of Kraven, ditto. Essentially, they are setting up Spider-Man and Kraven. They don't care who kills who, because they feel that it will never get traced back to them.
At the beginning of the second part, we see that MJ is actually alive and the prisoner of the Gaines twins. Then we see Spider-Man hunting down Kraven's two henchmen where he is supposed to be meeting someone at Stark Industries Power Plant Facility and Spider-Man rams Kraven from behind.
Kraven: "My old friend, Spider-Man. What a nice surprise."
Spider-Man: "I'm gonna rip you apart, Kraven!"
------
cut to the Gaines twins: "Kraven's right where he said he'd be. The fool should have stayed in his gulag. What troubles you brother?"
"Spider-Man isn't reliable."
"He will be. The same hate we feel for Kraven now burns in Spider-Man's blood."
That's when we find out why they want Kraven dead. He rounded up their parents for the KGB and the government did experiments on them which killed their parents but gave them their psychic powers. He is angry because he wants to kill Kraven himself, but she says his senses are too keen and they would have never have gotten close enough to use their powers.
"Our power is undeniable. Spider-Man WILL succeed!"
---------
Kraven (fighting with Spidey, chuckling): "Been quite a while since we tangled, Spider-MAN."
Spider-Man: "Yeah, like 6 hours."
Kraven: "What the?!?- What the hell are you talking about?" (gets attacked again) "I'm NOT going back to the gulag!"
Spider-Man: "Don't worry. I've got OTHER PLANS."
Kraven (dodging back after Spidey's drawn first blood): "You've CHANGED, Spider-MAN. More ruthless. No stupid comebacks or witty reparte. What happened to the wimpy Spider-Man I loathe?" (cuts the webline but misses with his knife throw and Spidey lassos his neck a ceiling beam)
Spider-Man: "Good-bye, Kraven." (starts hanging Kraven) "This is for you, MJ."
But then he looks out a window and sees the sign that supposedly fell in his battle with Pterodax. Then he remembers Harry's cast being on opposite arm from the one he saw injured. It's not adding up. He lets down Kraven and asks the police about the last time Kraven was seen. It was apparently a long time ago and they nearly trashed midtown. Someone was messing with Spidey's mind! He figured it out without having to become a killer.
The incident in question was never shown in the cartoon. It is just assumed that Spider-Man has been busy fighting villains between the movies and the cartoon episodes. Hope this has helped.

yeah one question ¿dont you realize this is WAY old?
The question had gone unanswered. I answered it. I enjoyed doing it because it was a Kraven-related quesiton of sorts, and that, of course, is my specialty.
If you had a question about Venom that hadn't been answered I wouldn't mind answering that one too.
Plus, this thread clearly belongs in the Spider-Man Television section, so maybe the Guides will move it to the proper place.
