I understand that there is such a thing as "poetic license" but this whole organics thing is taking it too far. Yes, DuPont couldn't do it. But y'all know what?
It's a story, fa crissakes!
I've been a Spider Man freak for quite a while and I've literally been waiting years for this movie. I've especially been waiting to see how the web shooters were going to be developed.
I am extremely disappointed in how this is turning out and a lot of flavor has gone out of my anticipation. The people who agree with the organics thing have a right to their opinion, but if they consider themselves true Spider Man fans, they better consider again.
Yeah, yeah whatever.
But those who have written that developing web shooters is a testament to Peter Parker's brilliance are absolutely correct. It's that intellect, drive and perseverence that has saved Spidey many a time more than his web shooters. No, its not realistic. But is a wall climbing, spider sensed person realistic?
Get with the program, Sam (and all you "fans").

directors, scriptwriters, and actors alike do more to transform our culture than the literary and philosophical giants of the past. therefore, it is in their best interest to pick up any flaw within their story and take it out. it would cause a lot less problems later.

Remember that Spider-Man wears his webshooters under his costume. In forty years of the comic books, how many times have the artists actually shown Spidey even refilling the darned thing?
So if Marvel hardly ever shows the thing, why should Sam Raimi take time out of a densely-plotted movie to show Peter Parker creating the device, experimenting with it, work out the bugs, etc? For the sake of pacing, the web shooter was something was completely frivilous. The organic solution, on the other hand, dispenses with the problem of Spidey's webbing without slowing the story down.

No man i dont agree.
They could show the web shooter creation in fast forward mode. u know screens passing fast. They could show it in less than 5 minutes thats no big deal. Besides like somebody else said organic websooters require peter to take large meals in order to produce them which is actually true. Not to say that the web should come out from his butt.
One other thing is that peter develops some kind of shooters to control his organic because he cant aim right. Doestn this take time?
Anyway like u said the web shooters are under the costume so who gives a ****.
See U Swinging Around!!

...if it's only going to be seen in a quick-cut montage? It's not like Batman's utility belt, constantly seen and an essential, visible part of the costume.
So I can live happily without the webshooter.

Dont dare question a persons fandom because they dont agree with you. A pro-organic person is just as much a fan as you claim to be. Never do that, man.

I think they should stick to the true comic book beginnings and show how he developes and works out the kinks in the web shooters, and no they should not come out his butt!

Ladies and Gents. I've read that when Spider-Man was first created that he didn't have webshooters. Instead it was another part of his mutation just like the movie is portraying. Don't get me wrong I have come to like the fact that he had to worry about his webshooters and fluid because it made him seem more realistic. But you got to know that they just are not changing the story, they are going with the original idea.

Just to let everyone know since no one is keeping up with this film, he can't control the organics so they put the mech's in the movie. Granted you only seen them on his arm when he's in his room but other then that they do have them in the movie. Since from the first series he had them on the outside of the costume which was totally messed up. But hey at least he's got them in the movie now and they're under the costume.

The idea that a teenage kid could even make webshooters is something generally reserved for Comics. Comics are a suspension of reality, and film is the exact opposite. To be profitable, the film needs to make back at least 125 million bucks. There aren't enough Spidey fans to make that happen, so the general public has to be involved as well. Not many non-spidey fans are going to appreciate the mechanical webshooters. i mean, while I do agree that it adds to Peter's character, films are supposed to be a representation of our reality. Espcially this one, where the character is placed IN OUR WORLD. I mean, he lives in NY for goodness sake. I don't believe many people would buy that what our best engineers couldn't make, a 16 year old could. Just a thought! Go SPIDEY!
