Spiderman 3 with Venom ????

It really depends on how Spider-Man 2 works out. They shouldn't screw up the story just because the people want to see this character in the next movie.

guys, I loved the black costume when they introduced it back in the 80s

the problem is not that many filmgoers know that story line...

i think everyone had heard of the green goblin

so for Spider-man 1 you had 40 year olds who could take their kids - and they had both heard of the green goblin...

Same is true for Doctor Octopus...

but now, neither the 40 year old nor their kid would likely have heard of the black costume or the symbiote story line...

So as cool as that black costume is... I think it cuts off a big part of the audience... it's only going to grab comic-book geeks who followed spider-man in the 80s and 90s....

however... I do think there is room to play with his costume... going off on slight variations of the classic..

PERSONALLY, I really think they ought to get rid of the raised rubber web ribbing that runs all along the outside of the costume.. what's the purpose of it??

the only purpose, as far as I can tell, is that it makes the costume into 'unobtainium', the secret material that movie-goers could never make at home in their own basement... and thus it becomes a cooler prop.

but I think it just looks BAAAAD.

No offense to James Acheson (sic/spelling?).. he's a brilliant designer, but i like lines that are just plain lines. dunno. if there is no function, why oh why would peter have spent all that extra time molding rubber onto the surface of the costume??? I think he'd be content with some plain lines just to get the idea across...

there was (is?) a manufacturer of thermal spandex-type clothing that would put spider-man costume patterns on their stuff, and it looked as cool as could be... no raised ribbed webbing was necessary. it just looked cool - because the core design was and always will be - cool.

When the first movie came out I picked up 3 different shirts with raised webbing. I still have them. One of which or possibly all will be worn at subsequent viewings of the second film. Among others, including a more subdued shirt recently received. I can be spotted in one at all Marvel related movies.:D

Thank you for saying the raised webbing looks bad. I especially don't like in the light how it looks bright and silvery. Even though it has been darkened for the second movie, they should have went with all black if at all. I've been contemplating how he made the suit to begin with for some time.

yeah sguy i agree with you too about the raised webbing. i dont see the reason why they did it theres no purpose for it. thats probably the only thing i dont like about the movie costume.

I think the raised webbing looks really cool. If you saw the very first trailor for Spider-man 1 you'd know why they went with that. The original spidey suit had the flat web design, but from a distance the lines totally faded from view and it just looked like a blue and red body suit.

When inking a comic book it's easy to make those black web-lines stand out in a distant shot because you can draw them as thick as you want. But when it comes to film, the suit has to stay consistent. Unless a ridiculously thick web design is used, the webbing would fade from view almost immediatetly, but the suit with the raised webbing keeps the detail clear from even a great distance.

And finally, who really cares how he made the suit. I thought the sweat suit he had in the first movie was a brilliant touch. Yeah I wondered how he put it together but it's not that big of a deal. Like I said before, the extra details of the movie suit are essential for having it look good on film.

anyways im gonna get this subject back on topic. venom can be incorperated by having yet another biological experiment gone wrong creating, venom. problem solved. only problem is comic-book goers would probably go crazy seeing how that whole venom series is so in depth.

hey in sm3 its going to be hob goblin, harry found the glider so he is the next pic for villan, sorry to say, but if we wanna see carnage and venom we are going to have to wait til the 4rth movie and 5th movie to see them, but is is highly doubtful if they are going to make and past 3, spider man 3 is due in 2007 so i hope you guys enjoy waiting, i know in the end it will be worth the wait and its gunna rock.

well, thanks, i made a mistake, it will either be hobgoblin or the green goblin is back for another round, i made the mistake, it is the green goblin again, the glider and suit are the same although the glider has some minor changes made to it, like it is more curved for greater manuverability, hobgoblins was a huge glider with a massive wing span so i believe that harry is just going to be the new green goblin.

In the animated series Jameson brought the symbiotes to earth.
In the comic book series, Spiderman got the symbiot during the secret wars.
They might've included John to set up a love interest for MJ/set up a Man-Wolf storyline for a future sequel. Plus it gave J.J. Jameson something else to do during the movie besides run a newspaper.

i think they should introduce venom in spidey 3, and then maybe, to keep the venom series going, not have venom die or be defeated at the end, but he gets away, and maybe in the fourth movie, spidey and venom can team up like they did in the cartoon. then eventually, maybe eddie will forcefully give up the costume or something. so the venom saga could span two movies, be long enough to keep fans interested, and still have... say harry be the green goblin or whatever. i think that could work.

they did say they're working on spidey's costume alot more(then they did in sm1/2) as well as the villan's costume(s)!?
tho i think as much as it would be interesting to see they might skip the whole peter/symbiote thing and forward to eddie brock/symbiote to become venom...not many ppl know the black costume but i would like to see it happen.
it's too early for venom to actually be in sm3 but they can build up the character of eddie brock in sm3 to become venom in sm4 tho i think they will start i different sequel after 3 to introduce venom, like spiderman vs venom or 'the venom saga'? i think same will happen with carnage too coz don't forget this 1,2 n 3 are ment to be 'about a girl' not'about a symbiote/alien' or summit like that so if they make a new type of sequel it can focus just on venom or/and carnage.

i'd like to see a movie venom vs carnage!!(like allien vs predater!only it would b alien vs alien/(more)father vs son!lol)
