Ok, this should be fun, the first person to answer the trivia question correctly, gets to ask the next question...
Trivia Question #1: What was the name of the powerful being that transported all the Marvel superheros to Battleworld during the Secret Wars?
Demothones Drake
04-25-2004, 10:49 PM
The Beyonder.
Question:
Back in the 70's there was an issue of Spider-Man published WITHOUT the Comic Code Authority seal of approval.
Why?
The code did not approve of the mentioning of drugs or Harry taking them. Amazing 96-98
Before Jason Philip Macendale became the Hobgoblin,he had another supervillain identity. Name it.

What 2 super powered teenage runaways made their first appearence in Spider-Man, later had their own mini-series, a shared series, and then their own short-lived ongoing series?
Demothones Drake
04-26-2004, 12:47 PM
That would be they. They were actually pretty good characters.
They are. Heard they are getting a relaunch.
Ok. When Spidey had the alien suit removed with the Fantastic Four what did he have to wear to keep his identity?

Dusk...uh...Ricochet,Prodigy (tho that turned out to be someone else) and the Hornet.
Why did the burglar who shot Uncle Ben go to the Parker home?
howheat
04-26-2004, 03:35 PM
Well I think he was just a burglar (same one that Spidey saw a week earlier) trying to rob their house, Uncle Ben surprised him and got shot...but I'm not sure.
He thought there was money in the home?
Demothones Drake
04-26-2004, 04:05 PM
Nope.
It WAS the same guy Spidey failed to stop, but he had a very specific reason for being at the Parker household.
Dutch Mallone's treasure?
Demothones Drake
04-26-2004, 04:41 PM

We're gonna have to come up with a rule to keep the game going if the correct answer winner isn't on for the confirmation of the answer...
Sorry guys. Wasn't sure I was right and I had to leave anyway. How about this rule? If you've already come up with a question and answer someone else can start. Anyhoo, next one..
Ok Peter Parker wrote his own book. What was it called?
howheat
04-26-2004, 10:30 PM
Webs, it was a compilation of a lot of his photos of Spider-Man.
Yup. Your go..
Or you could go with the last person that answered correctly can ask the next question if it goes beyond a day. what do you think Howheat?

Next Question:
In the Amazing Spider-Man series Return of the Sinister Six, what was the purpose of the chemical that Dr. Octopus released into the atmosphere, and why was it dangerous to the planet?
I'd say that's a good idea sguy, I just think it would be a shame if there were a ton of questions going on at the same time...
Demothones Drake
04-27-2004, 04:53 PM
It was intended to cure cocaine addiction, but the danger was it would destroy the ozone layer.
Question...an easy one, but a great story.

The answer to mine before was Spider-Kid. He summoned Spidey by shinning a "spider signal" into the clouds. When Spidey saw it he said, "Someone's been reading too many comic books!" It was from the period when Peter was wearing the black costume. from ASM #263.

they always make his eyes reflective on the posters for some reaosn. they aren't actually reflective in themovie.
Ok. When Spidey went to Berlin what did it say on his back?
MegaManMagnuM
04-29-2004, 10:09 PM
It doesn't bother me that the eyes are reflective in the posters, but they shouldn't have scenes in the movie with purely reflective lenses, such as the scene in the first movie when it shows all the citizens of NY testifying to sightings. At the end of that part spidey has mirrors for lenses. That is inconsistent. The lenses should have been reflective and look more like they do on the cover of the DVD all the way through the movie. they look sick there
MegaManMagnuM
04-29-2004, 10:17 PM
One more inconsistency i have to say. Spider-man's costume usually has a neck that goes halfway up his neck. Yet in scenes where he rips his shirt off the costume has no neck. Does anyone know what I am talking about? That bothers me because it just looks kinda stupid. If you know what I am talkin about give me an "Amen" so I know I am not the only one that obsesses over Spider-man so much that these things get to me. I do believe that with the right collored shirt this problem could have been avoided and the neck of his costume hidden.

He covered Juggy's eyeholes so he couldn't see, and while he's trying to beat Spidey off his back, we walks right into the middle of a freshly poured foundation, and poor ol' Juggy sinks out of sight.:D

Amazing Fantasy ended in 1962 at #15 With Spider-Man, a story about a mysterious bell ringer, and aliens. (three seperate stories) Then in 1995, to celebrate Spider-Man's umteenth aniversary, they made Amazing Fantasy #16-18 telling you what happened inbetween those few months of a gap from Amazing Fantasy #15 to Amazing Spider-Man #1
EDIT: Also, Superman appeared in Action Comics #1 from American Comics I think they called themselves. But later they changed their name to DC Comics. Just thought I'd add that in.

i never knew he had a middle name.. put i thought we we're still on the whole avenger's salary thing right? no one ever got it.
Still trying to figure out the salary thing...I think that was in a later Avnger issue. Grant is Kingpin's middle name.

Spider-man tried to join the Avengers once. What would have been his salary if he had been accepted?
Well, it looks like I've stumped you guys. I'll just answer it now before the question gets lost:
Meanwhile, across the chamber, Cap and The Wasp open a direct video-link with the national security council...
Sikorski: Yes, agent Gyrich is still on assignment. What can I do for you?
Cap: We'd like clearance approval for a new Avengers trainee, Mr. Sikorski!
Spider-man: Boy, I don't know...it's weird, signing on as a rookie. I feel odd enough just thinking of joining a regular team. The Avengers are good folks, but being in a group is really gonna cramp my style!
Aw, but I can't pass up the chance to pull in $1000 a week for playing Spider-man!
Sikorski: SPIDER-MAN?! Are you out of your minds? We have a file on him that's a yard long...and it still doesn't tell us a blasted thing about him! The man's a major security risk! NO! I absolutely forbid it!
Spider-man: They'll okay Starfox--a guy from outer space--but my own government won't approve me?
Cap: I feel awful about this, Spider-man! Maybe if I make a personal appeal to the president--!
Spider-man: Naw, don't put yourself out, Cap! Me joining the Avengers was a dumb idea anyway! But I'll tell you one thing...
...my congressman is defintely gonna hear about this!
Okay lordof, what comic and issue was it. I found ASM Annual 1966 I believe. But that only mentioned a free apartment from Tony Stark, no salary.
Also don't you get another question?

Jason Macendale, as Jack O Lantern, having problems with the Hobgoblin, hired the Foreigner.

2.Name Peter's three female neighbors.

Candi...Randi...and Bambi?!?
You've gotta be kidding me.
Let's see...in AMZ #12, he got his butt beat by Doc Ock cause he had the flu...
And in AMZ Annual #1, his powers myteriously vanished just as he was about to face the Sinister Six, but then his powers RE-appeared as he was fighting Electro. He never figured out why that happened...
Either one of those?

So he let him free to go and find the real spiderman...

Sorry Dark, but you've gotta ANSWER a question on this thread before you can ask one.

Q: What was the Power Cosmic?
Try to be specific.

Hey lordof...Are you talking about when the Enigma force gave Spider-Man cosmic powers so that he could defeat the Tri-Sentinel? Because if you are, then that's my answer.
Oh and to answer your question Dark, just for kicks, Doc Connors was in control of the Lizard's body after a witchdoctor placed a spell on the Lizard, he then used his son's DNA along with equipment from one of Dr. Octopus's abandoned laboraties to change himself back into human form.

It's 11 pm, so I ain't lookin' for a number. But I think it was PP. In fact, THAT storyline was a title cross-over, wasn't it?

Sorry I typed 12 when I meant 11. My b-day is June 12th. Maybe that's what I was thinking:\
That's the only 3 I could think of. The Mys-Tech Wars was a series of British Marvel Comics that coincided somewhat with regular Marvel continuity. The list included MOTORMOUTH & KILLPOWER,WARHEADS,HELL'S ANGEL(DARK ANGEL),DIGITECH,DEATH'S HEAD II,WILD THING and KNIGHTS of PENDRAGON(vol. 2)
lordof
05-13-2004, 09:03 PM
Yeah, you got props on that one.
Whenever tman comes back.
That's what I thought. I collected Dark Angel and a couple others. Was there a Shadow Riders?
Two deaths I know and referenced:
Peter Parker #71 Peter Parker is taken to hospital, perhaps with Clone Degeneration Syndrome. He flatlines, but then gets better, and his powers return.
Please forgive the clone saga reference. I was so glad it ended, and Peter was back. LOL
As I believe Spindelstrike mentioned at the hospital when he flatlined. That would be the first, and winner.
Amazing Spider-Man #398 Spidey was killed by the Owl with a poison. He flatlined, then got better - thanks to Doctor Octopus (who also died and then got better).
Was my second.
It was a nice discussion though, I need to reread some of the others mentioned.
Anyway congrats Spindelstrike, whats your question?
Also just to note, when I looked up a What if (Gwen lives)title for another thread. It appears Spider-man's death was a recurring theme. There are more than I thought.
