I would like to know how old were you when you first saw spiderman? Was it a comic-book, toy or the old animated series. How long have you been a fan? I know this is off the topic here about movie characters but this is a message board for discussions about spider man.

Late 60's, Saturday morning, original cartoon show. I was a little kid, and I've been hooked like a fish ever since. I really love the turnaround the current book titles have been making lately. And the Ultimate Spiderman book it the first one in a long time that had me reading again just as soon as I got home with it. Can't say that about any of the other titles in recent years. But JMS and Paul Jenkins are doing the old titles proud again..............finally.

I started reading Spider-Man comics around the same time that I learned how to read. Which was the mid 70's.

I think Spidey is one of the first cartoons I can remember watching. Either that or Super Chicken. So I was just a wee one.

I was about 6 when I first saw the 1960's animated series in the Philippines. I think he was the second superhero I was exposed to next to Superman. Shortly, I came to the U.S. and I greatly anticipated seeing Spidey swinging around the rooftops "for real". And lo and behold, I saw him "for real" on the TV teaching me english. Yup, there he was, larger than life... on the TV show, Electric Company (remember?). That was my favorite part of that show.
Sigh, those were the days.

I think I about 8. My mother's, friend used to buy my brother and I comics we both named Spider-man and X-men as our favorites so I asked for spider-man and my brother asked for x-men. Togther we had over 1500 comics (but he had more X-men than I did spider-man).

I was about 11 when I bought my first Spidey's comic. I bought some numbers of the collections, but I never had all of the numbers. When I was about 17, I miss Spidey. And now, I am 34, and I am reading all of the collections, because they have being reedited in Spain, and a friend is buying them. Pardon, my english is very bad, I expect you understand. SPIDEY FOREVER!!!.

I remember that when I was at primary school I could not watch the spiderman movie because we were just leaving my grandmom's house and going to our house. I was really very unhappy but next year hopefully I will watch this film in the cinema. I am really looking forward for this film.
Dear friends I have received my bachelor degree today. I hope the ones who are waiting their degrees can get them as they hope. Greetings!!!

I was about 4 years old, living in the country, before cable was thought of. Only on days where the weather was "just right" could our TV get reception of the original cartoon series. Believe me I was glued when that familiar theme song came on.

I was 10 when I bought my first Spider-Man comic book. I had been a life-long fan of the Fantastic Four and there was an ad about the new comic coming out. I couldn't wait for it to hit the stands. I still have that first one. It is stored in my parents attic with therest of my old comics. I've got to decide what to do with this stuff.

I was about 6 when i watched the cartoon
but it wasn't the really old one it was the new ones (around 1993) i kinda went off from there.
cant wait for the movie =)
I'm 28 now and back in 1977-75 there was a cartoon that came on channel 5 (I believe) that featured Spider-Man from where the song "Spider-Man Spider-Man Does Whatever A Spider Can, Spins A Web Any Size Catches Thieves Just Like Flies" song sprung from. Then if I remeber there was a cartoon that had Spider-Man one day then Captain America the next , then Iron -Man, then Thor, Prince Namor The Submariner, and The Incredible Hulk (or I think it switched to a diiferent character weekly...whatever). Then It went to Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends (with Ice-Man & Firestar "which back then I thought was a HOT babe...literally and figuretivley). Then I started with the comics up to the present day of the Spider-Man cartoon that now appears on Fox 5.

I saw Spiderman cartoon show in the late 60's on Saturday Morning along with The Fantastic 4, Underdog, and the Herculoids. Cartoon shows on Saturday were in there heyday in the 60's and 70's. The Spiderman cartoon music was great. Very progressive music for the show. Especially when there was just only 1 epsiode for the half hour like when spiderman would go underground. The music would just be soo weird and way out. Spiderman is the greatest!!!!
I'd have to say that I was at least 9 or 10 years old. I got so engrossed into the Spiderman comics, I was immediately hooked. I felt that this guy was a real person with real problems, but he always found a way to get throught them, all the while still cracking the one-liners and kicking villian butt. He is and always will be my favorite superhero of all time.

It was in 72. I was 6..... The things that keep me a spidey fan are the corny come backs and how he gets his butt kicked and then comes back for the win. I liked how more human the character of spiderman was over the invincible superheros in other comics. That might sound a bit geeky being spidey is fantasy but identifiable qualities sell a character more than larger than life superhuman abilities. Big deal for Superman to overcome a foe. The fight always seemed one sided, in Supermans' favor. Want real drama, check out your friendly neighborhood spiderman!

It was in the late 1980s. I was watching tv one day and spiderman came on. I saw how he was sticking on to the buildings and webing everything. That was so cool!!! Hejust seemed so amazing. It was years before i saw him again until i was watching the daily show with jon stewert and Willem Dofoe was on talking about Shadow of the Vampire. He said that he was doing a spiderman movie. I thought, cool. I decided to refresh my memory about spiderman and i did some research. I found marvel.com and read the Ultimate Spider dot.comics. I was hooked, so now i am totally hooked.

Well...I am old man and I can prove it.
In the late 50s and early sixties, I was an avid single digit aged comicbook reader of titles like Tales to Astonish, Strange Tales and Amazing Fantasy. This was before Marvel was Marvel really. Anyways, I got this comicbook with a story in it about a kid who was bitten by a radioative spider and voila...ended up with superpowers. Yep...for all you collectors...Amazing Fantasy #15... Spidey's debut. I think I was like 7 or 8 at the time...and am 50 now. And I still have the comic... or my nephew has them since I passed the collection off to him...every Marvel (missing 2 of Tales to Astonish starring Thor ... otherwise total collection of ALL Marvels including Millie and Patsy haha) ever been printed.
Anyways...I wasn't the youngest to have started collecting or watching Spidey...but I may be one of the longest running fan-relationships posted so far.

It's amazing to see the range of fans our beloved web slinger is able to muster. I was 4 when I learned to speak english whatching old-school cartoon, Spider-man, Spider-man, tan ta nuh, tan ta nuh Spidermaaaaan. I was hooked ever since. Remember the episode on the non-cartoon tv show when Spidey gets cloned. That was a good one. What I loved the most about his character was no matter how bad of a situation he was in he was always a smart ***.

I was probably 2-3yrs old when I had my first recollection of Spider-Man.
This was in Carolina, Puerto Rico. It was a Saturday morning cartoon show that featured different cartoon stars, and spider-Man (and Mighty Mouse) were regulars. The last episode I remebered had Spidey falling to what appeared to be his doom as he dropped towards the spinning blades of a helicopter; I remember being upset because someone (either my mom or the guy on TV) had said that this would be the end/last show for Spider-Man. --I especially remembered the song.
"Spider-Man, Spider-Man --Does whatever a spider can... spins a web! Any size! Catches thieves just like flies! Look out! Here comes the Spider-Man!"**
Those were they days...

I was 5. I was playing the very first spidey game my dad had bought just the day before on super nintendo. Me and him would stay up day and night trying to beat to the game. I liked being venom so i could beat up everyone. Except the level where you were on the top of a building with Carnage and Double Ganger. Scary thought huh??

I don't remember the exact age but I was young. When other kids were talking Superman and Batman I was talkin' Spider-man. The character is just so real. Batman - Rich. Superman - Alien, and invincible. Spider-man - Just a nerd with super powers and trying to make ends meet at the same time. I've always admired the work and for thought that Stan Lee put into Peter Parker. He just seems so real.
