Ok, there's this new Spidey movie, of course, but does anyone know what it's going to be like? I just want everything to be portrayed accurately, with out "mistakes" like there was in the x- men movie. So, any leads? I don't want to know the plot, just if it's what I hope it'll be?

Who says that the big screen versions of Marvel
characters have to be identical to the ones in the
comic universe. If they were what would be the point
of making a movie if you already knew the entire story.
Anyway the message is ARTISTIC LICENSE !!!

I agree with manowar. To not change some things would make the film boring and seem very silly. The comic based movie (Batman) had quite a few changes even Batmans costume, but it still worked. I dont think it matters what they do with the story if it is about Spiderman it will be good no matter what.

Hey, I hope you don't get to upset when you find spidey to be , DARE I say "more of an arachnid then he ever was"

Good, they should delve deeper into the psyche of a spider and make him very spider-like and creepy so as not to make it TOO cartoony, and accentuate it with a dark, layered Danny Elfman score...

For seeing it the same way I do roundeye. As Spiderman he will be very dark and even Kinda scarey, acting very much like a spider.

'tis the ONLY way to save it from being cartoonish. A lot of people had problems with Tim Burton's original Batman movie... I on the other hand, thought it was absolutely perfect. The liberties they took in changing a few minor details ruined NOTHING (a perfect example of artistic licence utilized expertly), and Burton gave the movie a very dark, somber and foreboding atmosphere. His Bruce Wayne WAS a BAT-man... it was perfect. Now, that being said, Spi[)er-(V)an isn't as dark a story, but that doesn't mean it has to be a live-action cartoon... When you see Spi[)er-(V)an come crawling at you from the ceiling, or even along the pavement, it should be downright CREEPY and make the hairs on your arms stand on end... take a sci-fi film like James Cameron's ALIENS; they way they snaked across walls and ceilings much like spiders... THAT should be the idea. The bite had to affect Parker more than just physically; it had to alter some of his brain chemistry as well, driving him to somewhat adopt certain mannerisms of arachnid movement and behavior... P.S. I'm no comic-book nerd, this is just my opinion on how Mr. Raimi could make a stand out comic book movie (much like the original Batman) while being a little daring and dark at the same time...

I agree with everything you guys are saying. And from the looks of the costume, I have high hopes they're going in that direction. I like the choice of dark colors for the costume. When I first seen it in person, my wife and I thought the blue was actually black, but turned out to be like a "navy" blue. If they had created the costume with bright colors, then we would have been looking forward to a "cartoon-ee" movie.

Great example. As the Batman movies became more and more costly, the script grew more and more cheesier. The third and fourth movies were horrible, and a disgrace to the cape and cowl. As were the third and fourth Superman movies. The first two were dead-on representations of the world's most popular superhero (based on the facts, not my opinion). And now those two movie series are in production limbo. Artistic license is fine, but to a certain degree. The more you differentiate from your subject matter, the more you will anger your core demographic. This movie series I believe, will start the same, it just remains to be seen if it will end that way.

Did you read the book to X-Men? If they had made that into a movie, it would've been better. The book gave a background to all the X-men and how they got their powers, and in the movie they only did a background on Magneto and Rogue.......that, to me, was a huge dissapointment, but i loved the movie because I couldn't believe i was watching the movie based one of my all time favorite comic books.....and now Spiderman.....this is heaven to me.
