I just saw the picture of WIlliam Dafoe as Norman Osborn. You know, now with his hair all back and everything, I really can see Osborn there. Can't wait to see him as the Goblin.

Has anyone else noticed how incredibly cool the Spider-Man costume really is? Ok, I have thought "Why would he go through all the trouble to make a bright red and blue costume to battle evil? Why not take the mutant cue and go with black?". But they have made it work. The red is so....unusual. Like I can't really pin my finger on what kind of red it is. And the "blue" is almost black in certain lights. But just looking at Corbis or otherwise amateur photos of Spider-Man just standing there make me get all hyped up for this movie.

And if it doesn't rock, ok. But once you've seen the as yet unreleased publicly Fantastic Four Movie, almost every movie based on comics seem....well, let me just say it makes Supergirl look good.

Yeah, the Spidey costume is looking awesome. My first impression seeing it in person as an extra on set.....the colors baffled me a bit. The blue did look black (under an overcast sky), and the red was nice and dark. Which is exactly the way I wanted to see it. The "scaley" pattern all over the material is still a mystery to me, but maybe that was meant to "catch light" on film a certain way. Similar to the way the raised webbing is going to add contour and dimension to the look.
Before filming began on the sets, a person would always come in to "spray" the Spidey costume with some kind of a conditioner that is probably meant to enhance every little thing for the celluloid to capture.

Dan ,,,It's gonna be my guess, that having seen this costume in actual daylight while you were on the set.
That when you walk out from the theater on 5/3/2002 your gonna say to your wife "You know that costume didn't look like that when we saw it."
You may remember when the first pics of it were released the light/ filming issues were discussed by the designers.
Dan thanks for sharing your experiencesas an extra on this film with us.
I was bummed when they decided not to film in N.Y.C as originally planned, all we got were some small street shots and MJ's house.

Thanks for the kind words. Since walking away from that set the last day, I always felt like I had experienced a great privilage. And at the same time, I remembered what it felt like being a kid on the last day of summer vacation.

It's too bad a lot of the people that were on the same set couldn't appreciate it the same way.........like it was their right to be there, instead of a privilage. Even *****ed and complained about how they were treated.

Anyway, I'm right with ya on the costume. It's gonna be cool to see the before and after, from up close and personal, to the big screen with special effects!!
