Ok, the other threads regarding the future Spider-Man movies, are purely people saying what they hope the new movies are about, but there's a million ways people could wish the next one to be like.
So how about some cold hard facts?
From the trailer, and taking what we know so far from the first film, and comic book continuity, here's what I've gleamed:
1. The first thing that jumps out is the particular character referred to in the 1st movie, Doctor Curt Connors. Peter's line in the 1st film was "doctor connors fired me from the lab" or something, and now, in the trailer, we see him for the first time, in his one armed glory. He'd make a great "villain" (he's a nice guy, when he's not the Lizard) for the third film, but he's not the only possibility.
2. The next blatantly obvious one would be Harry Osborn. DUH! According to the trailer, he runs Oscorp now, and if you know your comics, he stumbles upon a certain hidden chamber where a glider and suit are hidden which could be used to make him into either the new Green Goblin, OR if the writers want to screw things up, Hobgoblin. His motivation is, of course, Spider-Man killed his father, and Harry wants some revenge. Ok, so that one's pretty straight forward.
3. The next obvious one, John Jameson. Astronaut boy. If my assumptions from the trailer are correct, in this film, John blasts off into space, and returns. Now, what he brings back with him, is the question, so really, this is #3 AND #4. Does a particular black symbiote hitch a ride on the shuttle home, and bring Venom into the picture? Or does John bring back something inside of himself, turning him into Man-Wolf? Or BOTH!? Very possible turns, but will be proven true or not upon release of the 2nd movie.
4. Part 2. The Venom story isn't a long one. All it would take is John flying there, back, establishing Eddie at the Bugle, Peter getting the suit, etc. everybody knows that, and it could be done nice and quick. So what would the other hour and a bit of the film be filled with? CARNAGE!!! If at the bugle, Peter were to just hear the name Cleatus Kassady, BAM, once Venom is vanquished, bring on Carnage, and have the last half of the film Maximum Carnage. That would be NUTS! But more importantly, it's plausible.
5. This ones a stretch. Norman Osborn is not dead. (Before you start yelling at me, read the rest, and go read up on some comics to see where this comes from) The human enhancers he used on himself that turned him into the Goblin, actually maintained his body in a non-decomposing state, until his body regenerated enough, that he actually wakes up in the morgue, and throws someone elses remains in his tray. So Norman comes back, and tries to save Harry from the evil that is his best friend, Peter. I'd like to see the Hollywood writers pull that off in one film, lol. (Remember also, that Norman brings Doctor Stromm back to life in the comics)
6. Scorpion. Yeah, thats right, I said Scorpion. J.J. Jameson's personal lab rat. Jonah hires Matt Gorgon (i think i spelt it wrong) to be the test subject of a new "power suit" he gets some scientist to whip up (i forget who). He takes the job cause he's broke, but what he doesn't know is that the job turns into life. The suit welds to his body somehow, i forget, and he's stuck in it. It would be cool to see this one because Doc Ock looks so good in the trailer, Scorpion's tail would look awesome, and it makes sense, cause the film-makers have been getting a good vibe from the J.J.J perspective.
7. Last one. Since the trailer makes it look like Harry will stop at nothing to get Spidey, let's say he hires someone, anyone, or does experiments on new human enhancers, or some other genetic experiments at Oscorp, the possibilities with that would be endless. I'm talking Sand-Man, Rhino, Electro, you name it. But only if it's NOT Peter behind the mask at the end of the trailer. Cause if it is, then this one wouldn't work anymore.
I will bet Ten Billion Spidey-Bucks it's not Peter behind that mask. I don't know why, i just don't think its him.
Ok, so there's the facts in celluloid, or print, go find em before ya throw a hissy fit. If ya don't agree, or have found a discrepancy, post-it. But more importantly, if I have over-looked ANY reference to any possible story arc EVER, post-it. I'm sure we'd all like to see some really insightful speculation as to future movie plots, which, maybe, we can draw some attention to this message board, and have our say on a future film. Don't laugh that I just said that. S*** happens, ya never know.
