i just bought an amazing spiderman #1 reprint from 1966 on ebay with 25 percent of the top of the cover missing.i think its a great reprint.you can still see the whole picture on the front with spidey fighting the fantastic four and the bit saying the chamelion strikes and u can still see part of the writing .comic is in very fine condition.i aint some comic geek but spiderman rules.i paid $50.00 for it which is pretty good seeing that it is worth about $700.00.does anyone else know about this amazing spiderman #1.it is exactly the same as the one from 1963.
It looks like the same as the one from 63. It is a Golden Record reprint. It has a different value than the original. I can check how much but it is worth alot less the 63 book. Still it is an old copy of Amazing 1.

For most of the older comics, unless I can get a great deal on them, I generally go and buy them from the 50cent pile at my local comic store. The condition is not mint, but the cover's all there, all of it is, usually.

yeah its a golden record reprint.its **** good.i could email you a picture if you tell me your email adress.its a pity that a bit of the cover is missing but i think its a great deal.i saw one on ebay go for $600 and it had the whole of the cover but its was in fair/good but mine is in about very fine+ so is a great deal i think.my local comic store had a deal 4 comics for £1 but i think their closed now.but i can still go to forbidden planet but they have no amazing spiderman left.****

Hey spider man,
How is your copy considered to be "very fine+" if 25% of the cover is missing???
Last time I read the overstreet grading system, a torn cover pretty much knocked your grade down to VG, G, or F.

Do you think it would be worth a restoration?

nah i dont think a restoration would do much, its in pretty good condition and might have been restored already but who knows but if i did restore it,it wouldnt bring back the other part of the cover but i think its **** good.but i might have it restored,i'll just worry about it arriving first.

its alot less than 25% missing from the cover because the rip starts from near the top and goes to the left going down a tincy bit each time.the rip stops at the number 2 where it says ''2 great feature length spiderman thrillers''
