It has to be the big V! In my point of view, and with the exception of GG himself, Venom's the only other villian in the Spider-verse to truly cause P a major migrain!

Yeah, Venom is terrific, but he's down the road, folks! It's gotta be Doctor Octopus. Save Venom for Part III or IV -- because you're gonna need that many films to get more of the character mythos in -- so that it really matters when Venom/Brock goes after Spidey/Parker. One man's opinion, but let's work up to Venom. Doc Ock's got like 20 years of history before Venom came on the scene.

Scud8 one possible villain you omitted is Green Goblin. Just a thought. The special effects of the goblin board flying is one factor to consider.

what the hell chameleon should be in it he would rule all of the movies, think about what he could do!! he could shift shape into aunt may or uncle ben and and he could get dirt on spider-man/peter parker! it would make spider-man use his spider-sense way harder!

What about kingpin or the sinister six. or the vulture and more. Scorpion. many villians. Venom is a good movie villian cause they can work in the troubles spidey had when he wore the simbiote. I think he would make since. and if it wasn't for the green goblin in this movie. I always like the hobgoblin. With the permanent face and the infinite shots of pumpkins. and a flyer that would appear and reapper at his whim. he rules.

By the way it looks like they are going with the Green Goblin, (the high-tech look) Doc. Ock and Scorpion would look great in the next spider movies. Plus I think they could offer cool action scenes and eye popping effects. Maby Scorpion and the Shocker could be Doc. Ock's henchmen? That would keep good 'ol spidey's "spider-sense" tingling!

Okay everyone thinks Venom should be the next villian....Spidey has to have the Symbiot Costum first so I think they need to lead up to Venom. Have Doc Ock be next and have maybe Rhino make an appearance(I would like to know Rhino's Origin). Have Brock in the second movie but not as Venom yet.Make the 3rd movie all about the Symbiot and get Spidey in the Black suit for part of it and then have it take over Brock.

Now I'm going to interject my opinion........ as for Venom and Carnage....... Yes they are popular and yes they are cool.....BUT........ you have to set up the whole black costume saga (Secret Wars) to understand the origin......and I don't know if the producers are going to reward a script like that....... and as for a Sinister Six.......I don't believe that's possible. People do learn from their mistakes (**** you Schumacher!). You can't have too many villians running around....I love the Sinister Six...they're great but you and I will never see them altogether in a movie........too much. In order to keep with the time frame of the story forget about Venom for now. Doc Oct would be the most obvious choice for the sequel.

The special effects that are used now would make for such an awesome movie.

i would like Doc Oct with Rhino vs Spiderman in a sequel where Spiderman discovers the black costume and uses it to defeat his foes and then in a 3rd movie we could have Venom. I know this doesn't go exactly with the real story but how are they going to make an entire movie about the Secret Wars? And if they do come up with the symbiote in a movie, I pray it doesn't just apear on Spiderman and turn evil and become Venom in the same movie. The Symbiote story should be told in more than one movie!!!

Let's Not forget about Kraven. The man is the only one who nearly killed S-M. Hell even bring up the Mutated Spidey, that would be just as good as all these flicks (If No Better) that are CG. Don't get me wrong CG is cool but Come On Six-Arm Spidey that would just Rock.

So, yeah that's a great poll... But don't worry, I'm pretty sure the choice for the next movie's villain is already made... I think this will be Doc Octopus... First he's one of spidey's most famous and most old foe... Then I've heard you can read his name somewhere in the teaser trailer... And then as you all said, it's too short to introduce Venom... I think they shoud do a sequel with Octopus, in mhich we can discover Brock and maybe the costume... But above all Brock, and in the third, we meet Venom... But it's pretty sure they won't respect the sotry of the Secret Wars... Itr would be too long and a mere copy of the comic... Cause if they have changed the GG's costume (from the comic book), they wont respect a story such as the Secret Wars... So I think it will be Doc Oc... But I'd prefer to see the Sinister Six... Yeah... And as fro Kraven... Useless... With such a villain, you won't see many FX effects compared to a Hobgoblin or a doc Oc... But I'm pretty sure we'll hear one day about Morbius...

Of course everbody knows that green goblin came first it don't take a rocket scientists to figure that one out . if you watch the old cartoon spiderman you would see that the green goblin is the original goblin. remember osborne made the hob goblin the weapons to kill the kingpin.

The Vulture would be a pretty sweet deal; but so would Doc Ock.

If anything; the Sinister Six would be pretty **** cool. But to pack Six of the most formidable spidey foes into a 1hr block of story would be a c****.

Venom is a given; cause it'll only be Venom... and I'm down for that.

So it can be a Venom movie for Spidey 2. A single classic Spidey villain (Mysterio, Doc Oct, Vulture; etc.) for part 3. And then Venom and Carnage for Spider-Man 4; but not the “Maximum Carnage” story line (oh, hell no!). --and none of this Batman Forever **** where you have mismatched multi-villain combos (Poison Ivy + Dr.Freeze + Bane= $#!%) because its not going to work.

Part of the reason why the Sinister Six ideas won't flow well unless someone decided to push for a direct comic to screen adaptation of the Sinister Six stories already written.

This poll has some serious replies. I'm happy everyone can say what they want and hopefully influence the producers or whoever may read this. That's what I wanted and that's what I got. Now...I'm pretty sure Doc Ock will be in the next flick. He was in contention for the first so he'll be rewarded storywise in the second when and if they make it. I'm sure of that. The question is who helps take the villian's duty in the second flick.....if there is a need for another villian. I think they would need a second if you've watched any sequels because bigger is better and definitely two is better than one. SO............. I'm betting on Mysterio (c'mon...he's a hollywood villian!!!!! Special EFX galore) or the Chameleon. That's just my opinion. Those are my guesses. I have to say go with the Dr. Octapus of course and not to use venom first. Remember the Dr came way before venom and poses a big threat to spiderman. The top 3 villians that pose a threat for spiderman is Dr. Octapus,venom,and carnage. I dont even know why they started off with the green goblin on this movie if i was making it i would go straight with the Dr. Octapus first not no green goblin. When they have Venom dont u think they need to get Arnlold for that part.

Octy or Electro in the second one, have Eddie Brock appear, and maybe gain the symbiot at the end, with like a shady shot of his face or something dramatic. In the next one, have Spidey crawling the streets in search of someone to save or some ****, then have Venom bust him up, Hulk style. and mayve have carnage in the 5th movie, give him some time to get the spawn of Eddie's symbiot. I think that would rule.

I think the main thing people are overlooking here is the reality of it the movie brings, same as with X-Men and as with what is going to happen with Punisher and Daredevil. All these films are trying to bring a sense of reality to them. I think crossing the border into Venom is a little too soon for the second sequel and a little too far out for a film. I say stick with more real characters like the Goblins, Chameleon, Scorpion, Mysterio, Kraven or the Lizard. I think that if Doctor Octopus is put into it, people will have all these expectations on him and theres a chance that he might not live up to them being the character that he is. But then again, I might be wrong and he might turn out to be very cool indeed, but i think stick with some earthier villains.

Oh and one more thing... NO MORE THAN ONE BADGUY! Batman went to shambles because after Batman Returns they all followed suit and blew chunks! More than one major Villain is overkill. A henchman (not another villain like Rhino or Shocker etc.) would be good, but not a superpowered one. Enhanced slightly perhaps, but not superpowered. It would simply be over kill, and who wants Spidey going the way Batman went. CERTAINLY NOT ME! And before anyone brings up X-Men about the more enemies the better, the only reason X-Men worked the way it did was because there was a TEAM of good guys fighting a TEAM of bad guys. One on One is the way to go if you ask me.

Alright, Perosnally here is how I think Spidey 2 and 3 should happen...

Spidey 2: Parker gets the Black Suit at the begining of the movie. He is then the Black Spidey throughout the entire movie. And Doc Ock should be the Villian in this instaulment. And at the end Spidey looses the Black Symbite Costume ending with a shot of it following Eddie Brock.

Spidey 3: Have Venom (Eddie Brock) be the villian throughout the entire movie. Causing complete mayhem. Ending with of Course Spidey defeating Venom (But not killing him).

Doc Ock OR Venom have some real problems. We need the movie 2 make sense and go in chonological order with the first movie. So the only choice would be Doc Ock!! It only makes sense! I like Venom and all but in order 2 get the suit, spidey has 2 go that other world and get the suit! THATS A MOVIE IN ITS SELF! THEN, hes gotta have that fight, have the suit fall off of him and onto Eddie. ANOTHER MOVIE!!! its gonna take 2 long 2 get Venom in and have the story make sense. case closed!

Ok, sequel villains. Well, like the dude before me said, it has to make sense chronologically. And to be honest i dont think Doctor Octopus is necessarily to best choice. I mean how can people say that before having seen the movie?! Sure it could be done, but its not the ONLY character you can put in. To be completely honest, the best villain if you were gonna pick the chronology with a fine tooth comb, would clearly be the Hobgoblin or the Jack o Lantern, but i seriously doubt that people will want to jump for more goblins just yet.
Who do i think the best choices are? Mysterio, the Chameleon, the Scorpion, the Lizard, Shocker, and POSSIBLY Doc Oc. Another thing everyone keeps bringing up is the Kingpin, Venom and such. The Kingpin won't be in the films. I doubt it very much anyway. You see, Daredevil has started pre-production and casting and whatnot, and the Kingpin is a confirmed character. Thing is, Fox owns the rights to him. Same with Venom. Dimension films owns the rights to him too. I heard somewhere Eddie Brock makes a small appearance at the bugle, but i think thats really all we'll see of him unless the rights can be bought.
To be completely honest, I see the Scorpion working really well on film. He may not be my favourite villain but i can definately see him working well in a film. Same with Mysterio and Shocker. The Chameleon would be nice, considering he was the first villain spidey ever came up against. And the Hobgoblin would be another good choice, but not straight away.

Venom is great, but it's too soon for him... I think the sequence would be a great time for Doc. Oc and the Scorpion. And an special appearence of Dr. Connors and a "i'm back but no one still knows" return of Norman Osborn would be terrific... like, working in the shadows as usual. I do think Green Goblin is the greatest of them all!!

I'm pretty sure you all know this. Sam Raimi was originally supposed to have Doc Ock and GG in the film. He chose Green Goblin. So, the theory I have is that Doc Ock will no doubt be in the sequel.

Rhino's origin is this: he escaped a Eastern European country & came to the US, worked a bit, then agreed to let someone (the Kingpin maybe?) permanantly bond the thick hide and horn on him, plus gave him super strength, the reason he is a criminal, is that he needs $$ to get his family out of Eastern Europe.
