Does anyone know, for lack of better phrasing, how sticky Spider-Man is?

I mean, what would it take to knock him off metal, glass, brick, etc.? I guess it could be expressed in lbs/sq.in.

I assume that sticking to things is a conscious, physiological phenomenon; meaning that if he were knocked unconscious, he wouldn't stick to anything. Or would he? We breathe even though we're asleep, yet breathing is voluntary, as opposed to digesting.

Anyone?

Although I don't think this question is really deserving of a reply, I feel bad for you so I'll put it in terms I think you'll get. His ability to "stick" to walls is not a result of some adhesive, or 'sticky' film. Spider man has super strength in his fingers and "claws" at the microscopic flaws in whatever surface he wishes to "stick" to, much like a rock climber on PCP(or a spider). There are several threads of conversation on this board dealing with his strength that might enlighten you, but suffice it to say that if he REALLY wants to, he can stick to almost anything and yes, if he get's knocked out-which has been known to happen... he falls.

Its a super power, there's no logical explanation for it, it just is. If it were logical he wouldn't be a SUPERhero.

Look up Spider-Man number 26. I think it's the September 1992 issue. In a short story Peter explains his powers to Mary Jane (who tried to attack him with a pillow in the middle of the night).

I'm not sure if your looking for a sceintific reason or som-
thing just from the comics?Well far as i know like flies spiders have little suction cups at the bottom of there legs.
Somthing i use to think about when i was 9 or 10 was that
maybe he has the same thing except they only do there job
when he begins to climb! You think!
