Don't fall asleep on The Green Goblin (under-estimate him),
he's not as easy for Spidey to handle as you think. He is one of Spider-Man GREATEST enemies for a whole lot of different reasons...

The Green Goblin IS Spider-man's worst enemy. The Green Goblin killed Spider-man's daughter, was responsible for Spider-man's struggle against the Jackal and the Spider-clones (The Scarlet Spider, Kain, Spider-cide, etc.), which, may I add, took up a very large portion of the Spider-man comics, and the Green Goblin's son also was Spider-man's friend... so when Green Goblin 2 came along there was even more trouble (not only physicaly, but mentaly, emotionaly, and spiritualy). The Green Goblin messed with Spider-man's head, got into Spidey's home and threatened him and his wife, killed Spidey's clone, killed Gwen Stacy, andany other people that Spider-man knew and was close to. The Green Goblin has been Spider-man's worst enemy for years.
