here is my idea of how it could work:
Film starts with peter taking photos of jameson jr, who has just come home from space. Peter greets jameson and while they talk, the symbiote climbs up petes leg. Pete goes home and falls asleep,and when he wakes up he is on the roof of the empire state building in his underwear. he makes his way back home to see a black spiderman on TV. he goes to his cupboard to get some clothes, and then the symbiote grows over him. pete says "weird" and then makes his way to the bugle. Brock is in JJJ office being screamed at by JJJ. Brock shoves parker and says "spiderman will pay" under his breath. pete gets photos out as screen fades to clips of the symbiote spiderman saving the city. Daily bugle headlines fill the screen, and Pete throws his old costume into the bin. after the clips, it shows Pete lying in bed. he gets up and starts sneezing. he looks in the mirror relaises that he needs his glasses. he tests all his powers to find that they have gone. he can't climb walls and can't shoot web. Harry walks in looks at pete oddly and walks out. pete says "what happened to my spider sense?". Pete takes a bit of his suit of and studies it. he then takes a bit of blood and studies it. he notices that the suit is destroying his DNA. Pete realises that he can't get the suit off. He looks out window at city, and all of a sudden the smoke alarm goes off. the suit nearly comes off, but harry stops the alarm. Pete says that he left something at work and rushes to a clock tower somewhere. the bell rings loudly, and the suit comes off. the slime then falls down a crack onto eddy brock who is lying on the floor looking at a picture of spiderman. the slime covers brock, and he screams. it then goes to a clip of Pete in bed. MJ comes in and wakes him up. Pete turns TV on and sees footage of venom causing chaos. Before he can get up, Venom jumps through the windown and grabs Pete saying "come on spidey". Venom takes him to a back alleyway and gives him his suit back. he then says "join me!" and slings off. Zooms into suit and shows Venom leaping out of a prison. Spiderman swings in and attacks venom. Massive fight scene, and spidey is knocked down by venom. Venom about to unmask spidey, but stops. falls over and grabs his stomach. Red goo sprays out his mouth all over an inmate. prisoners rush to the pile of slime, and thencarnage jumps out and sends them all flying. carnage greets venom and then they swing off into the night. in bugle, pete has pictures of spidey and venom. JJJ says "Venom and Carnage, Spideys newest playmates". Vnom and Carnage are robbing a bank, and then when they exit, they argue over the money they start fighting, and then spidey joins. Spidey is sent flying away. When he wakes up, the police inform him that venom and carnage are at Oscorp lab. Spidey swings in and accidently hits a button. An alarm goes off, and the symbiotes fall off Brock and Cassidy. Spidey picks them up and slings out. Shows oscorp labs exploding, and leaving a massive crater. Police arrive to find cassidy and Brock wrapped in web on the floor. Pete walks up to Harry in the crater and harry says "Spiderman killed my father, and now he has destroyed his business too!". Pete walks off, while harry walks over to a box which has not been damaged. He opens it to find all the green goblin journals and a new golden suit. He laughs evilly, as it zooms out and into the credits.
This could make SM4 have the Hobgoblin in it!
