Hi all

Enter Electro will provide Spidey action untill May2002!!! I see this time you can go down in the streets in the game!! It looks just as good as the first if not better!!! i hope the adventure is much longer though?!! Spiderman movie game is a good reason to get a PS2! I can't believe how high the buildings look in this game!!!

Hi boys & girls

I know! New York in the PS2 game looks wow!! very realistic sky high buildings to swing to and crawl over. Spidey himself looks so good this is one reason in many why its worth getting a PS2! So is the demo good? I'll have to keep an eye out here in the U.K for a demo!! I know that Enter Electro has the Shocker ( hes in the PS2 game) and the Sandman. I wonder if you can go from the tops of the buildings right down to the streets? If its as good as the first and longer then i'll be happy. When we get this hot game report back here to see what we all think!

I think the release date is around the 10th of next month. Its supposed to be even better than the Playstation version. I haven't actually played it (on any format) yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Its pretty awesome game. --And since you haven't played it yet. --You're in for a real treat.

--And of course if you ever get stuck in the game when you do play; You can always jump here to the message boards and we'll gladly help you along.

Because it'll be on PC; you may want to invest in a decent control pad to play the game with. Unless you're comfortable with a three button wheel mouse and a keyboard.

spidermanalf
08-27-2001, 02:54 AM
The PC version is very much like the Dreamcast version, regards to graphical quality!!!! Gameplay wll be the same throughout!!! Which is a VERY good thing!!

Gwendoline
08-27-2001, 10:37 PM
Hmmm ... so the graphics will be of a poor standrard then? Ah well, as long as the gameplay itself is good, the graphics are pretty secondary. I wonder how *free* the swinging is!

I'm not a console owner, and haven't been for a very long time. I had a Binatone with Pong etc, and then I had an Atari VCS. I remember playing Spidey on that! Was pretty good too.

Anyway ... I got a computer (Dragon 32 in about 1983) and I haven't looked back since. Although I used a joystick for the Dragon and my later CBM 128, I got a "real" computer (a 486DX 33Mhz) in about 1991/2 and I've been playing games using a keyboard and mouse combo ever since. I think that's the way I'll continue too!

beatnik
08-28-2001, 12:00 AM
The DC version is the best thus far... hands down the definitive Spider-Man to date; only to be rivaled by the Spider-Man the movie game coming for PSX2, Xbox and GameCube.

Your 486DX won't be enough; you'll have to get a whole new computer.

toxicexotic

I'm simply looking forward to being chased by helicopters through that skyline!!!! The game is still in development so it can improve further then it alreadt looks!!

Just something I noticed on "Spider-man" on the Playstation which everyone seems to have on here.
If you leave Spidey in one of the rooms inside a building and don't press any buttons or move at all, after a couple of minutes he webs up to the ceiling, holds on upside down and does some amusing things.
I'm not gonna tell u what, but try it inside the bank.

What a wicked game....Thank God for Marvel!

Hey everyone. Sorry if I am behind the times, but I was hoping you could help me...

I went to Best Buy today to see if I could find the Spidey game, and no luck...

Wasn't there supposed to be a Spider-Man game for PC's that was to be released in November or so (originally set to release in the fall, but then backed up to November...maybe backed up even further)?

Here's what I would like to know:

Is there a new Spider-Man game for PC's?

When did it come out?

Who makes it? Activision?

Any help would be appreciated. As of now, I have NO spider-man game to play, and I want at least one, even if it's an old one!!!

Thank you in advance for anyone who can direct me...I now I can count on all of ya...

Yes, that's what I bought today, at OFFICE DEPOT of ALL places...

I can't get my gamepad to work right.

I have a Gravis Grip Multiport System (that I bought in 1997 and used on my old computer) that seems to work when I plug it in, but my computer will only recognize 4 of the buttons, even though the gamepads have 6 buttons, plus a L and R button.

Any ideas?

I have a copy of the Spider-Man game for PC by Activision too. Boy, I loved it! And there's already Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro - but as far as I know, its not yet available for PC, only for Playstation. By the way, there is an upcoming Spidey game from Activision again--this time it will be based on the original motion picture. Doesn't sound too bad.

...OK, beat the game...

Well, I had it on "easy" the whole time, so...

OK, who's got cheat codes???

Hehehehe....

I went and bought a new joystick, rather than mess with my old ones...I'll just leave them for the old 'puter. They SHOULD work, though...

So, what did I miss during the game?? I found lotsa stuff, but nothing anyone else wouldn't find...

Cheat codes????

I got a PS2 for my b-day last month and Spidey was the game I went out and got for it. Hee I'm so bad at games. I' still held up at the stage where the killer is found and you have to get to him. I just can't get past the 2nd room full of badies. I know there are some web and helth power ups on the roof but I still can't do it. LOL. I still love the game though

They say that a hero can save us. I'm not gonna stand here and wait. I'll hold on to the wings of the egals, watch as they all fly away.

I need help in the RACE AGANIST TIME level, where you have to fly through the city and stop all the bombs from going off.

The only problem is that on the last one, I don't have enough time to dissable it. I get to the scond to last, dissabe it, but the time keeps going, and then the last one is like five block away, and I can't get to it.

HELP PLEASE!!

hehe ooh boy, think that one is hard, just wait until you get stuck in oscorp. ugh what an annoying HARD LONG level.

Anyway, hold down your zipline, makes you go faster it is the R trigger on the xbox, dunno what it is on playstation. And also, don't land GRACEFULLY or try to attack anything. Just find the bomb and drop and disable it.

This brings up a good question, I tried playing on hero level. I find this very difficult. And I have forgotten where the 2nd circuit box switch thingie is on the level where you are in the SKULLS hideout. Where is the the stupid box so I can get through the electricity??

Hold down on your web slinging button and keep going. When you get to the location just drop down, and give it a kick or a punch.

If The last three, there is one on your left and two in front of you, right? What I did was go to the one on the left, then come back to the bomb before that, then go get the last one which should have been the second to last bomb. If that does not make sense, I'll explain to you step by step for each one. I just gotta do the level again.

I got stuck on this on as well.

And don't worry about the major flaws in this game, the second game is going to be a whole lot better.

Here, don't cheat. Go on the robot the size of Long Island, and get rid of the shield generators. There is six on it. Four on top, and two in the front. Then go on top of the walkway. Don't go down, because the robot is going to shoot at you. Stay on top and shoot the generators twice each with your web bomb thing. Then you have to get rid of the other things that shoot bombs at you. Once you're finish, the level is over.

What he said, you get to be the green gobiln, which can be fun on some levels. It can be annoying though, because you can't stick to walls, and you need to on the levels where you need to be quite to not get totaly blown apart. The glider is cool to use too.

Play as the Green Goblin
Successfully complete the game on the hero or super hero difficulty setting to unlock the Green Goblin costume option at the specials menu. Select that option to play as Harry Osborn in the Green Goblin costume with his weapons in an alternate storyline where he tries to correct the Osborn familys reputation. Alternately, start a new game on the hero difficulty setting, then quit to the main menu. Enable the "ARACHNID" code, then go to the level warp option. Choose "Conclusion", then exit. The Green Goblin costume option will be unlocked in the specials menu.

Alternate Green Goblin costume
If you are using the Alex Ross Spider-Man, play any level with the Green Goblin in it and he will have an alternate costume that resembles his classic costume more. Note: This will only work when you are in the Alex Ross costume and the Green Goblin alternate costume will not be in the very last in-game intermission sequence.

Play as Peter Parker
Successfully complete the game on the easy or higher difficulty setting to unlock the Peter Parker costume in the specials menu.

Play as a wrestler
Successfully complete the game on the easy or higher difficulty setting to unlock the wrestler costume in the specials menu.

Hang on to Green Goblins glider
In any fight against the Green Goblin, you can hang on to his glider just as in the opening FMV sequence. While swinging or on foot, you can either target his glider and press Web Zip or face him and do it manually. This will allow you to hang on to his glider while he flies around. This is difficult and risky at first.

The X-Box version and the Gamecube version will be about the same with the X-Box just tipping it on graphics but like a lot of multi format games on X-Box it may become a bit choppy. The PS2 version will have the least superior graphics as with nearly all multi format titles. I'll be getting it on the Gamecube.

Arachkid
05-27-2004, 11:04 PM
They decided to move the release date of the game to the same day as the movie so that no one would have the movie spoiled by seeing major plot points in the game.
And then they went and released the book earlier this week.
Kudos to communication between companies. :P

Yeah I know. I'm reading it and I think I know much more than what the game would provide. They really should release it sooner. Anyone who wants to be spoiled will be with the novel.
Oh,and I just checked it. The first game came out April 15th. It would be cool if they released 2 on June 15th.

Arachkid
05-28-2004, 10:58 AM
sguy, the first game came out in early April 2002, about a month before the movie. Some said that it spoiled the movie. I don't know whoever played the first game here... what could it spoil?! Oh no, Goblin takes MJ hostage... there's something I NEVER would have expected on the first Spiderman movie <tries to go easy on the sarcasm lol>
Ooooh btw - there is a good reason for MJ being taken hostage in both films, but they realllly need to stop doing that for the third. :P

sguy
05-28-2004, 11:05 AM
Yup. April 15th. It didn't spoil anything for me. Just that there was a fight at the Unity Fair but you see that from the trailers. The ending was similar with Norman dying by the glider but that's it. Maybe the ending is the same as the movie for 2 but anyone that has the book knows now.
The hostage thing has to stop. 3 in the first one and... to quote a familiar movie "there is another."

Arachkid
05-28-2004, 11:09 AM
Well the Norman death occured on the bridge in the game, which is different location, and besides the point, I'd assume most who went out and picked up the game so quick were Spider-fans and knew that he died by that wing anyhow... actually, maybe died... lol depends on how close they follow the comics/how many movies they actually make. :P

True. Who doesn't know about Norman and the glider? He even got hit with it in the cartoon. Which is why this game should be out sooner.:) It's going to be hard for people to not know what happens. It's all around them online.

Arachkid
05-28-2004, 11:15 AM
Yeah - in the comics they had his heart slowly regenerate from the impalement, they might do that. :P Also, someone was saying they couldn't comprehend the Goblin cache behind the mirror... do you remember where that is? lol have some valid arguments. :P

sguy
05-28-2004, 11:18 AM
LOL In the comics Norman's stuff was in his house. Harry found the formula there. What better a place to stash it but his thinking room with his collection of masks? Works for me. I also think he would extra pieces lying around. We didn't see everything he did in the movie.

Arachkid
05-28-2004, 11:22 AM
Exactly. They shouldn't need to show every move you make. For example, Peter Parker is riding a motorcycle<book>/moped<trailers> in the second movie - do we know how he saved up the money for this? No. Do we care? No. :P Spiderman the movie did not occur in one day.
Things that back up Norman making more Goblin supplies:
1> He wasn't exactly... strapped for cash. :P
2> Most everything is possible to duplicate once you have one of them. So he had the prototype wing, etc... all it takes is cash...

sguy
05-28-2004, 11:25 AM
They really should think about releasing this game. I don't this to go off topic. They've been closing threads that do. I posted something in the novel spoiler area that pertains to what we're tallking about.

I don't see why it would matter to release it a day later. Even if it does have spoilers. In a game magazine i read, it sad the game took what was it?...I can't exactly remeber but I think it said 20-30 hours. And that's on a reletivley clean play-through. That means, no getting lost, no wandering aimlessly, just completing the objectives one after the other. So for a first timer, I guess it might take around 40 hours. Or for someone who just wants to have fun swinging around. I also reserved for it.

I'm also with you guys. It's really hard though! I already peaked at the end but didn't learn anything that I didn't somewhat know.

Yet on the game's actual website, they manage to get the clips fine.

If you have 256 ram, you should be ok. If you want the system requirements, go to a website that will sell the game, they might have it.

BTW, as stated by IGN, the PC version is specifically going to be the "kiddie" version <Rated 'E'> while all console versions will be rated 'T'.

Does anybody know if in the spider-man 2 game for ps2, will there be those web spinning targets like in the demo?

kK stoned
06-05-2004, 08:23 PM
Just to say, the PC demo that was recently released is NOT like the ps2, xbox, and gamecube versions. The PC version of the spider-man 2 game will be geared towards children.

http://xbox.ign.com/articles/521/521020p1.html
Like every action loving gamer across the planet, we became ecstatic when an unofficial Spider-Man 2 demo for PC was released as part of a Russian soft drink promotional program. We'll jump at any chance to play Spider-Man 2 on any platform because the game simply looks fun, see. Turns out this demo is not for the game we thought it would be.

In a nutshell, avid PC gamers are getting shafted. Spider-Man 2 for PC is a strictly toddler-oriented title that is in no way indicative of the console experience that we've covered for so long now. This is not a publisher trying to convince people to stray away from an unofficial demo, either. The game is fundamentally different in many ways.
On PC, Spider-Man 2 features brighter graphics more reminiscent of a cartoon than the movie. And, though it also features a familiar storyline with familiar characters, it boasts a kid friendly, intentionally simplified control scheme that's not for the hardcore amongst us.

Again, if you're interested in playing the Spider-Man 2 PC demo in order to see a bit of what the console versions will eventually be, don't bother. The titles are different and one does not represent the quality of the other.

Kk stoned is correct as is the article from IGN here is another form Gamespot to back it up,

RUMOR: An official demo for the PC version of Spider-Man 2 has been released.

Source: Numerous first-class sites, including Blue's News and Shacknews.com.

The official story: E-mails to Activision reps were passed along to other Activision reps, who had not responded as of press time.

What we heard: Yesterday a demo appearing to be that of Spider-Man 2 appeared on the Web and was quickly mirrored by numerous download sites. However, given that it hadn't come from Activision, its provenance seemed to be a bit of mystery. Some thought it was a pirated beta-version of the game. Others, including Blue's News, traced its origin to a promotion for a Russian soft drink. However, the demo's origin is much closer to home--Battle Creek, Michigan, to be exact. The Midwestern town is the headquarters of Kellogg's, the food multinational and maker of Cheez-Its. As it turns out, the Spider-Man 2 PC demo is being released exclusively as a Cheez-It promotion; send in two UPCs from boxes of the deliciously caloric crackers and you'll get a demo disc of the game. While the promotion's exclusivity would explain why many sites yanked the demo yesterday, it doesn't explain why its splash screen listed the game's developer as Fizz Factor (The Hobbit) instead of Treyarch. That's because Spider-Man 2 for the PC will be a totally different game than its PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube siblings. According to reports, Spider-Man 2 for the PC will be a child-oriented, mass-market game along the lines of Finding Nemo, instead of the open-ended, Grand Theft Auto-style console game.

Bogus or not bogus?: Unfortunately, not bogus.

It's realy unfair on PC users who wanted the game in it's proper form, I am getting it on my gamecube anyway so it doesn't affect me but I'm sure other people will be piss*d off.

I won't believe these rumor posts, until I get an official quote, or how they did their detective work.

Also, those two news sites, all they did was say someone else thinks something, they didn't do any real news. Gamespot made a mistake, it wasn't from Kellogg, Kellogg doesn't even have a download link, the softdrink company still has the demo up on their website. Gamespot had a little bad detective work looks like.

Well, really not much to say on Spiderman 2 the game - all the info that's out there is at least a week old. They're being protective because it's linked to the movie, but still, if you want, you can essentially find out the whole storyline of the movie from other places... I mean, REALLY, I've seen 10x the info on MGS3 than I have Spiderman 2, and that's an end-of-year release.

I wish they would out more updates on the game site, but maybe they are waiting for the movie to come out first, then, watch out, there will be a community and some others stuff. What is a community, a board? Like the one we are on now?

Saw a cool trailer. At the end (I saw it twice) Spidey spinning a web.. some girls marveling at his physical fitness (no pun intended), and Spidey in a elevator with a guy in a tux. The guy says "Cool Spidey costume" Spidey replies calmly "Yeah...though it sometimes gives me a wedgie". Then at the beginning, Peter's riding hiis motorcycle, a car is about to crash into him from behind, he jumps off, flips backwards over the car (that flip is in the theatrical trailer), and lands it. Some kids about 10 years old go "How'd you do that dude?" Pete replies "Well, ya know...eat your green vegetables!"

that has nothing to do with the game though......., and i dont think you would be able to find your house in it if you lived in new york, they tried as hard as they can to make the streets, the main icon buildings and statues and central park and stuff, but id doubt you will be able to find your house perfectly in the game, they didnt goa round snapping picutres of every building.

How can you say that??? Other than Snadman Shocker was the greatest villian. I admit he looked kinda wierd in the comics, but they change his coustume a little bit in the game and he looks way better. Also he is one of Spideys most dangerous villians. He can attack from any distance, amd break through walls like toilet paper and many other things. SHOCKER ROCKS!

I really think ol Bolt-head (A.K.A Electro) is kind of lame. He just shoots electrcty, nothing more. I know Shock can't say he can do more than 1 thing, but there's just more to Shocker then just some cable repair-man who happened to be in the wrong place is the wrong time like Electro, he's a career criminal who has a neck for inventing things. Shocker can tear Electro to shreads, stomp him into the ground, and use him for toilet paper. Shocker all the way!

I don't recall that being a power of Black Cat's. From what I understand she chose the name because everyone she cared about died. She was like a "black cat" to them. Black Cat's true powers are the same as Captain America's, she was even created the same way.

that was the Black Cat from the 90's Spider-Man T.V. show. In the comics, the Balck Cat really wanted super powers, so she ended up making a deal with the Kingpin. The Kingpin was able to give her these bad luck powers.
