I have a bunch but god knows what happened to them so I don't know how many there were exactly. I bought 2 more today but little did I know that it was Free Comic Book Day. I was really pissed when I found that out after all the shops were closed. Ugh. I feel so jipped.

I collected comics from the time I was about 6 til about 46 years ago when they began to change and every comic tried to go Dark Knight ala Frank Miller.

I have every Amazing Spider-Man since around issue #80, and about half of the ones before that starting with #12.

I have every issue of Peter Parker the Spectactular Spider-Man from its inception - until 6 years ago December.

Web of Spider-Man is another I have from issue#1 as well as Marvel Team-up, before that.

McFarlanes Spider-Man is another that I have every issue of (til 6 years ago Dec) and I have several of the bagged #1's in both purple and silver webbing along with a signed copy.

So, how many? Well, lots - some I have extra copies of. And that is just my Spider-Man collection.

I've got around 160 to maybe 180 Spidey comics! And my most expensive one is Spider-Man: Maximum Clonage, last time I checked it was like, $60! This is kinda off topic but, in Marvel Knights Spider-Man #4, when the (possible spoiler) Black Cat and the Vulture are fighting, they crash through a window and inside, a guy yells "Oh my God!" If you pay close attention to him and the has family they look just like the Simpsons! All you see is Homer Marge and Bart, but it looks just like them!

I have hundreds. I have been reading and collecting Amazing Spider-man since 1967. I have all of the other titles which I started buying when they came out. I also have many where Spider-man appeared in other comics such as Fantastic Four Daredevil, etc.

I sadly have none considering that I only now am gaining interest in Spiderman. I know quite about about it as a whole after reading numerous articles on the internet, but I hope to actually get some of the comics some day...it would be so wonderful to me if I could!

You know someone or Marvel should start scanning there comics and placing them all online for everyone to read. Hundreds upon Thousands of people are being deprived because it seems like the only good an old comic does is sit on someone's shelf, and collect value. Maybe the comic would be more valuable if everyone can read it.

I will never know what happened in Spider-man #1 because it is so expensive and rare, plus reading what happens on other web pages isn't the same as reading a comic book itself.

Disney rereleases a couple of there movies every year so children are not deprived of Peter Pan or Pinnochio. So I think the best thing to do is have Marvel create a pay web site where we all can read the comics without having to damage some of the valuable books.

They already have some online on http://www.marvel.com/
They always have Amazing Fantasy 15 up for reading. There are always 5 or 6 more of Spider-Man, but I think they change them monthly.

It looks a little bit like them. But it's not something I noticed when I read it, only when you pointed it out.

Go to any bookstore like Barnes & Noble or go to Amazon.com... there are tons of trade paperbacks available that collect the old issues. My favorite is the Essential series. These trade paperbacks reprint 20 or more complete comics (minus the advertisements) in chronological order (there are at least 5 Essential Spider-Man volumes out right now!). The only draw-back is that they are in black and white. If color is important to you, there is the Marvel Masterworks series that only reprints about 10 issues in order, but in color.

It's the closest thing you can get to reading the original comics without shelling out all the cash for them.

You can buy the Marvel Masterworks series (5 Volumes so far), but it will cost you a pretty penny...

Not necessarily... These $50 editions you found are the hardback editions.

I know for a fact you can get the first edition of Spider-Man Marvel Masterworks in paperback format for less than $20.

I'm not sure about the rest though.

That's why I like the Essential series. There's no color, but you get over 20 complete stories in order... not a bad deal.

It's not a bad deal at all. I just don't have a job (or allowance) so I don't have the money for this. Let me know if you find the paperback editions online, I'm really interested in them!

I found these on barnesandnoble.com.

Looks like there are at least 4 Spider-Man Marvel Masterworks volumes in paperback for $12.95 each.

I'll try to put a link here:

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/results.asp?WRD=marvel+masterworks&userid=FK1qfuj9ap&cds2Pid=946

I think you can get them other places like amazon.com, but I think the price will be about the same.

I actually found paperback editions of the essential series that were not in black and white at B. Dalton's. And the were the same price as the back and white ones - $12.95. So just in case anyone wanted to know - they are out there!
