3 years until next movie

can u believe that we have to wait a whole three years until we see the next spidey flick. It's a downright outrage. Why do we have to wait so long when they (filmakers) can throw out harry potter flicks like there is no tomorrow. Im not dissing harry potter, but if they are able to scratch out decent films like harry potter then they can certainly move up the release date for spidey 3. Anybody agree with me?

It's going to take a year just to hammer out a decent script for Spider-man 3 then it'll take another year to rewrite the script.

All they had to do with Harry Potter is adapt it from a book. All dialogue and scenes were provided to them. Comic adaptations have to be built from scratch.

Am I the only one who heard that the release is for 2008 and not 2007? At least that's what Sam said on the E! behind the scenes. I'm sincerely hoping that he mispoke there. Four years is way too long to wait!

i was just on the E! website and it said this:
the sequel will likely swing into theaters by 2007, though it's possible the movie could arrive earlier.

"The best case scenario I can tell you [is] 2006. It is a big movie, and we would rather play it safe and talk about 2007 at this point," Arad said.

Tobey has back problems and it got worse after shooting "Seabiscuit" and he was being cautious about the stunts so that's why the shooting of "Spider-Man 2" was delayed.
If Tobey's back is not that 'serious' now do you think that will be in account for the third.......I have heard the stunts in the first were bad....the second stunts with 'harness' were easier this time on him.

I heard it was 2008 as well. Sam Raimi said that on E, I even have it recorded. I don't mind waiting as long as it is quality work. Of course, as long as Tobey is Spidey and all the rest people r the same. Maybe in 3 or 4 years, the special effects will be better and they can do venom :)

well in Lord of the Rings, they just shot all three movies at once, and then split up the film and edited it rolled it out.

they are not going to do that for Spider Man. they are going to shoot one, edit it, and then shoot the other one.

i think maybe venom may happen soon remeber MJ was with that guy who work at nasa so i think they may put that too work

i think Spidy 3 is going to have the Goblin and Lizard... that is why they introduced Doctor Connors in 2. in Spidy 3, they might introduce Brock and then we can finally get Venom.

I totally agree with you redclark. How long did it take to make a Harry Potter movie? 1 year and its longer than spiderman movies. They made Potter movies once a year. It should take less time to make spiderman3 because effects and stuff like that is longer and harder work for Harry Potter than it is for spiderman 3. Effects for Harry Potter is making stuff come from wands which seems like hard computer work. I dont get it either...

Well now they made Spiderman 1 and 2, so they have the basics, they just need a new villian or other charatacs, they dont really need to make everything from scratch, just some few things ;)

I say let them take as long as they want. Disappointment is going to hurt a lot more than waiting several years. Spider-man 2 will be one tough act to follow.
