I was at Target the other day and I saw a DVD of the original Spider-Man cartoon from the sixties. It was the first three years of the show (1967-1970) and 52 episodes in total. It cost $50. You can probably find it at Best Buy or online somewhere, and perhaps for cheaper.

Oh yeah! Those '67 cartoons are great!
It was the first Marvel cartoon to have actual animation. Before that, they had Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and I think Sub-Mariner. The cartoon was basically stills from the comic books (without the word balloons) and people speaking the dialogue over them. Sometimes an arm would move or something like that, but it was very limited animation.
Spider-Man was the first to use full animation, and it's much better because of it.
One thing though, I believe in these '67 cartoons, they will use the same animation over and over. There are two stories with the Vulture that use almost the exact same animation, just with different dialogue over it to make it into a different story.
Still, I love these cartoons, and I'll definitely be getting this set.

You gotta love those over-used animations in cartoons... Especially when the dialogue doesn't match the mouth movement... ;)
