Man! I decided to start a new thread with props to Masteregal. Can't find the old one. Stopped at about 20 pages.
Ok I read Spidey Marvel Knights and I loved it.Showing a human side to the Vulture was great. The sory behind ezekiel and the gatekeeper was so cool. i never thought I'd read somethinig new on the origin of spidey. thought it was all covered. How cool. He was chosen. Makes sense. I'm really liking Sins Past too.

Morlun was tied into the the ezekiel thing. this one is a whole new story arc and Marevl knights I think is standing on it's own. I can't wait for 510.

I really like Venom and Carnage but I think Toxin just doesn't seem very cool...at least not as cool as V 'n C!
I looked at the covers of one of the Venom vs. Carnage issues and I think Toxin just looks like some wierd mix of my two favorite symbiotes...but what do I know, I haven't even read one of the issues:\ Could someone please write what they think about the whole Toxin thing?

Hmm..Maybe. Continuty might have to be screwed with the make this one work. Then again assuming Pete in his 30's now and started as Spidey in high school,that might make his kids old enough to fight him depending on how old he was when Gwen died.

Haven't read it yet man. Yeah I'm not liking the Carnage run so far. Gwen's already gone?! I know it's an older issue but Pete saved Mj from the bridge like the movie! Not Gwen! I thought it would happen again but he would fail. Ugh.
I hear after Carnage is another Spidey/Wolvie teamup.

Marevl Knights Spidey is basically an ongoing series where Spidey's injuries are more realistically dealt with. Broken teeth and all. The first couple issues has someone know his identity,smash Uncle Ben's tombstone and kidnap aunt May. Vulture just saw his face too. It's still going. Issue 5 where he fought Ock came out. It's present day continuity but there's no mention of the situations happening in Amazing. Seeing how Ock looks in the comic is similar to his app.in Peter Parker:Spider-man and they just fought there might be connections there.

the marvel knights spidery story line is supposedly taking place a couple months after the current ASM arc. the next issue of THE PULSE is suppose to lead into the first issue of MK: Spider-Man, where it shows norman and peter fighting.

Yeah,Marvel Knights is more about realistically dealing with broken bones,teeth and the like. A little grittier stories.

It's kinda weird and I hope I'm wrong but in 511 gabriel resembles dafoe a little to me. Maybe even Harry or Norman. I'm not sure.
Gwen did have to talk to Peter. I wonder if she had to have the kids and was blackmailed by Norman. Maybe that's also why she was killed to begin with. I'm just speculating but I'm hoping we will get a new spin on the classic story.

well, there must have been some kind of genetic manipulation... remember Peter rationalizing that if they were Gwen's son and daughter they would still be children. my first guess was that they were a creation of Prof. Warren (The Jackal) using genetic material from Gwen combined with either his own or Peter's--since he is the one that had access to both.

Then again, in the letter Gwen says that she was actually pregnant... and MJ knows who the father is... I'm really confused on this one.

i don't know much about Gwen, except what i read on flashbacks on the clone saga (the collected issues in paperback). did she go away for a while between the time she was going out with Peter and her death?

Yeah she left for awhile and went to Europe. that's why I'm guessing Norman because when he was brought back it said he was overseas. Maybe it's nothing but I'm sensing blackmail or maybe Flash involved.

blackmail is a possibility because obviously something happened that made her feel ashamed and keep this secret.

there is still the issue of them being too old to be Gwen's kids--unless... :confused:

Me neither man. Carnage first appeared in amazing 361 and Gwen was around for about 90 issues.
Ultimate Carnage shows up and Ultimate gwen is already gone. Feels like the movie. Now it's just Mj and Pete. Too soon.

Yeah it is creepy. According to the comic Harry was coming off his LSD kick so it could be Norman. I don't like the idea of it being Norman either. This arc has a lot riding on it.
She has the kids,Norman kills her and brings her body to the bridge letting Peter think he killed her. The next issue can't get here quick enough.

i read ASM #509 (Sins Past Part 1) online the other day and i wanna know what happens in #510 and #511, since when i subscribe, the first issue i'll be getting is #512 so i wouldn't know what happened in #510 and #511.
even though i saw previews of #510 and #511, i got extremely confused. so could someone be kind enough to tell me everything that's happened in the last two issues?

i would go to my local comic store to buy them but i don't really like my store cuz they won't let u touch the books at all unless u're gonna buy them. one time i was there and i took one off the rack and - God forbid - i looked inside[!] to check it out, and the clerk was like "may i help u?" and i was like "oh no thanx i'm fine" and then she was like, "well u can't read them here." i felt sooo horrible! are all comic stores like that? cuz the one we have here in Forest Hills is darn snooty! i mean i can understand if they don't want anyone reading entire comics in the stores without paying, but i got so intimidated by that clerk and stopped liking the store! :\

so anyway, i'd appreciate if someone just told me what happened in #510 and #511. ^_^

Amazing 510
Synopsis:At the beginning of this issue there was a brief recap of the events that took place in issue #509. Afterwards we find PP once again looking at the letter from Gwen,in walks Mary jane and she comes and the two discuss the letter among other things. Peter recieves a startling peice of mail, that includes photos of MJ and Aunt May next to someone who has their face blocked out and a note that says "we can kill them whenever we want". The scene changes, Spider-man is now meeting with a Detective, with hopes of having the forensics lab go over the back side of the letter. Peter and MJ have a brief chat. Peter calls Aunt May but instead of Aunt May picking up the phone, it is answered by one of the guys that is trying to kill Peter. Thinking that Aunt May has been kidnapped, Spider-Man heads to an abandoned wharehouse, where he realizes he has been suckered. A bomb goes off, Spider-Man is hurt. While attempting to recover he is attacked by the same two individuals from issue #509. While unconscious, Spider-Mans memories takes him back to a scene with himself and Gwen Stacey. Spider-Man finally comes to and heads back to meet the Detective. The forensic lab has finished working on the letter. Peter reads it only to find out that while Gwen was away she had given birth to two children, a boy and a girl.

Amazing 511
A perplexed Spider-Man is still reeling from the information Lt. Lamont provided him on the contents in the back of the one page letter he received from Gwen. Peter decides to do some tests to be certain the twins are Gwen’s kids. He goes back to Gwen’s grave to exhume some of her DNA. He then crosses that with the DNA from the licked envelopes he received from the twins. Before he finds the results, Gwen’s daughter Sarah shows up to tell Peter to give up before her brother kills him and all the people he loves. When Sarah becomes distracted, Peter takes the opportunity to attack and unmask her. To his surprise, she looks almost identical to Gwen. Sarah’s brother, Gabriel, comes to her aide and they escape. Peter confirms what he feared, they are Gwen’s children, and they believe that he is their father. Back home, MJ rips open the results of the letter. When Peter gets home, MJ apologizes for opening the letter and explains that she knows who the father of Gwen’s children really is.

There is some serious history going on with 121-122 and shortly before. Gwen left for Europe,Gwen never was conscious at the top of the bridge...I hope it isn't Norman especially due to blackmail. Gwen mentioned she had a big secret while Harry was recovering...

I know what you mean. Since Spider-man and the Xmen movies have come out the rude people looking to make a buck are too. Plus,the young kids who think the movie is canon and some are quite rude. It was better when only the geeks liked it.;) Now it feels like it's there to be exploited.

wellll that's not really the case with my comic store. i think that it just went under new management and i'm just not used to it. i used to be able to walk in there and look inside the comics, but now they don't even want u to touch any unless u're gonna buy them.
but i think that the other main reason i'm scared of my comic store is that i only find boys in there. i almost swear i must be the only girl in all of Forest Hills who has ever set foot in there lol.

btw i subscribed to Amazing!! can't wait until i get my first issue....which is weeks from now :(

I don't know. I guessing maybe in his 40's. They could go with him retiring and putting the suit back on but I prefer the last story to be before retirement.
Considering it'll be a mini and Marvel is going to make it last,it could end with may already gone or her dying along the way.

As for titles:I love Amazing and Marvel Knights. I no longer collect Spectacular because I don't like the art.Personal preference.Plus it doesn't seem like the continuity is there. In Spec,Spidey just became a spider but there's no mention him changing as far as I know in any other books other than Avengers.
Ultimate has good writing but you have to be open to different ideas than the originals.

The collage looks great! Anyhoo,this story is killing me as it stands now. I would also bet Gg told Gwen his identity and everything before he killed her if she's really dead now.
But Gabe still looks like Peter so maybe Norman combined dna and had nothing to do with it.
Man this sucks right now. Speaking for myself,comics are getting darker and darker and **** seems to be an everyday occurance. 2 titles this year have had it maybe more I'm unaware of.
Just let them be test tubes and be done with it! No sullying anyone's else's name with **** or a murderer gone free!

Nope not yet. Have to go get it. Part of me doesn't want to read it after hearing some reviews. Maybe this will all be set right at the end. Only two more issues till the conclusion. JMS said we'd be first angry then happy so we'll see. So far this is up there with the Clone saga almost with frustrated readers. Not going to judge it yet either. Not till it's over.

Yeah the Clone saga was real bad. People in droves left all the titles. I would say not to stop until the conclusion. My last issue was when Peter was revealed to be the clone. Then him smacking Mj was..too much. Then a girl was Spidey. Took awhile before it got better.
I have hope. This is comics so any explanation can be done. We'll see.
Side note: Dc's Robin has been a very good read. I think you'd like it. Can't say the same for Nightwing but things are looking up soon.

I'm pretty sure it was in Spectacular Spider-man when it was revealed so it won't be in the cds.. He attacked Ben and Mj intervened. He knocked her away and ran off in the night.

i still have faith in JMS turning things around for the better... then again, i might just be in denial.

there's room for plot twists:

-if you check out the panels, the images from the past are from Peter's imagination and MJ's memory, not images of the "actual" events.

MJ could be mistaken about some things in her story. for example, in her story Gwen's kids were born 2 months early whereas in Gwen's letter they were born only 1 month early (maybe i'm reading too much into things).

MJ told Peter what she overheard and what Gwen told her. There's the possibility that Gwen didn't tell her the whole truth.

-there are still blanks to be filled in Gwen's letter

i wish they fill in those blanks at some point. i know it's not gonna be: "sorry about the cruel joke, Pete. happy april fools day", but i hope it's something that clarifies this whole thing.

-the babies might have Osborn genes, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Norman had consensual sex with Gwen.

we don't even know if Norman is the father. Harry could be involved. ok, even if it is Norman, it could have been through genetic manipulation and Gwen getting pregnant "artificially". Maybe genetic manipulation could explain the fast aging of 'the kids'.

anyway, i'm anxious to get my hands on next ish.

MJ could be mistaken about some things in her story. for example, in her story Gwen's kids were born 2 months early whereas in Gwen's letter they were born only 1 month early (maybe i'm reading too much into things).

-there are still blanks to be filled in Gwen's letter

i hope they fill in those blanks at some point. and, eventhough i want things to get fixed, i wouldn't want one of the blanks to read: "sorry about the cruel joke, Pete. happy april fools day..."

-the babies might have Osborn genes, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Norman had sex with Gwen.

we don't even know if Norman is the father. Harry could be involved. ok, even if it is Norman, it could have been through genetic manipulation and Gwen getting pregnant "artificially". Maybe genetic manipulation could explain the fast aging of 'the kids'.

anyway, i'm anxious to get my hands on next ish. all good points THWIPP!:D

NOO!!!!!!!!!!!! i hate paul jenkins. he gave spidey organic webbing now in spectactular spider-man. and on top of that the most stupidest idea that spidey can now tell what ants are thinking! what kind of **** is that?? that whole last arc was just utter ****!! the insect gene?? spiders aren't insects!!

I read Ultimate, Marvel Knights, Amazing, and Spectacular. Plus all the other comics that Spidey is in. The Amazing story arc is sooo great.. I mean this truely shows that the goblin is spidey's true nemsis, I mean he screwed gwen, messed Harry up, worked with the jackel to clone peter making him think ben reily was the clone also cloning gwen, almost kills Flash, and now sends Gwens kids on a killing spree thinking peter was there father and he abandoned him. Plus this totally explains why Norman killed Gwen, besides hating peter. Plus even though I like Gwen, I like Mary Jane better.She is Peters true love!
On a different note. Marvel Knights is a great series..Its sooo awesome.
An the team ups in Ultimate are funny.
Uh I like how they are incorporating organic webs now with Spectacular, it will be interesting to see it happen with one spidey title.

Okay,Bendis is killing off avenger after Avenger. Why? Well I think this has to do with his latest interview staing that the entire marvel universe will be dissassembled. House of M will come out in May and the deaths have led me to believe that the Ultimate Universe will replace the current one. Even Sins Past is pointing to all this. They can end the current run and continue with Ultimate. Of course everyone will meet their ultimate counterparts. As of right now I am done with ultimate titles. Even Joe Q is hinting this and Ultimate Spidey resembles the movie way too much to me. I'm staying with amazing till sadly the current run I remember is erased like the Crisis On Infinite Earths.
From what they've done to Gwen,to Pete shooting organic webs,it won't matter cause it sounds like it will all be gone.

i hope they dont get rid of Amazing cause that and MK are the only decent titles out right now! despite whats happening in Amazing(still have to wait for the arc to finish though but it doesnt look like we're going to be "overjoyed" :() but i mean Amazing is the original how can you get rid of it! :| cant really blame the movie fans though cause fans of it like me and sp21 like the orginals and from what we've read like gwen....

Yep.

All of this changing is really making me mad. I just hate that they're changing it just to make more short-term money.(you can hear my ranting in "web-fluid or organic", BTW ;)). If it just becomes Ultimate I'll be so mad. :|

I don't plan on reading Ultimate, but I'm probably gonna start reading MK. Already reading Amazing. : D

well Sins Past is over (wonder how long it will take for someone to make it so it never really happened ;))

Skin Deep is good so far, i like it but dont love it, i feel like somethings missing and the villian is basically Molten Man...can JMS do anything orginial and not make something new from peters past....im loving Deodatos artwork though, more and more each month

i hear Marvel Knights is getting good...cant buy it though because no place near me sells it

Spectacular is ending soon and after the artwork, organics, peter talking to spiders, and now sins remembered i think that it is time it ended ;)

Yeah,Sins Past started amazing but the ending and alot more than that just wasn't right.

Skin Deep is ok and to me does not need to be 4 parts.

Yeah the new Spectacular coming is Sarah putting the moves on Pete. I've only read part one so far.

Marvel knights has been good but not without controversy as well. Spoilers follow


Eddie Brock sold his alien suit and killed himself. Not happy about that. Now the suit is on Gargan/Scorpion and I'm not sure if it's for good. The kidnapper of Aunt May was revealed and now Spidey and Black cat are now facing the new Sinister Twelve.

Pete's financial woes are going to leave soon. Spider-man is now an Avenger and Aunt May and Mj are moving in with the New Avengers with Pete! Oh yeah,looks like Carnage died in New Avengers 2 at the hands of Sentry. Ripped him in half!

I'm just venting here. I guess since there's more movie fans than comic fans the comic has begun it's sell out. Now he doesn't even use web shooters. In Ult.Spidey, Mj fell off the bridge just like the first movie. Hopefully there will be a difference between the two besides paper and screen.
Now with the crossover I wonder if they'll mix the stories so it matches the movie more.

just thought i'd bump this thread again

MK:SM-Millar's run was pretty good, was the only good spidey title, #12 was kind of predictable but still a good issue. Hope the new team is just as good, although the art looks no where as good as the Dodsons

Spectacular- just bought one of the Sins Remembered issues, man was that ****, dont even care what happened, going to get the last issue for collection sake

Amazing- Skin Deep really didnt need to be 6 issues, **** Marvel and their TPBs, without them these stories would probably take 2-3 issues at most. Even the New Avengers storyarc is going to take 6 issues, hopefully at the end Peter and them move out, i enjoy spidey better as a loner

Ultimate- just started reading the Hobgoblin storyarc missed an issue, its okay, i just cant get into Ultimate that much though, still its pretty good compared to how Amazing and spectacular is right now
