ok i hate this but tobey kirsten and raimi might need to be replaced cause they want to leave and if theres a spider-man 4 who do you think could fill there shoes?;)

for kirsten i dont know if she could play mj but what about Reese Witherspoon? she does sort of look like kirsten

im not sure yet for tobey...maybe Jake Gyllenhaal?

im not good at directors i just hope they pick a good one!;)

Excuse me, Little Miss Spidergurl4302, but 'twas I who said that! ;) I'm just kidding!!!!! She might be good...But she's been in a lot of comedic roles. But, she's had a few dramatic roles, also, so that might be interesting to see.

I think Jake Glenhall, because he looks a lot like Tobey. For MJ, you have to get somebody who doesn't look like Kirsten, someone who looks more like the MJ in the comics. Maybe a natural red head.

I don't think anyone could replace Sam Raimi. He is the best. Maybe some no name director who is a fan of spidey.

I agree with that--and I'll go a step further. After Spider-Man 3 wraps up the current storyline, if there are changes, the replacements shouldn't be cast according to the actors that currently play the roles, but according to the characters--not someone that looks like Tobey or Kristen, but someone that can play Peter and MJ. I hope there are no changes, though.

For director, if I had to choose a replacement... of the top of my head I'd say Luc Besson (The Professional, The Fifth Element).

This can actually go both ways.

As for getting people who look like the cast- that would be good for the movie-goers, or non-fans(comics).

Getting people that look like the people in the comics- that would be good for us! The people who like the comics, or possibly movie-goers who want a change.

In the scene when she's on the bridge in the first movie, in one part she resembled Drew Barrymore. It's when the GG flew by her, resemblance was uncanny. Drew as possible candidate.

I have trouble imagining Jake Gyllenhaal as Spider-Man. Sure, he resembles Tobey a bit, but I don't see that as a valid reason for him to get the part.

As for MJ, I wouldn't want to see someone who is already pretty famous such as Reese Witherspoon or Drew Barrymore. I'd rather see a lesser known actor who can do it as well, or maybe better than, Kirsten. I can't really pinpoint why, but having Drew or Reese as MJ would be kind of a turn-off for me.

I don't know. He's a pretty good actor, but...I don't know.

Whoa-you know what I just realized? You know how in SM1 and 2 they had the villian in the advertisements and stuff? They can't do that now w/o revealing who the villian is! And that's one of the main cliff-hangers from SM2!!!!!

That's a tough spot they're in, advertising-wise.

i really have no idea who could replace them....im not saying Tobey, Kirsten, etc. ARE the characters or anything like that i just dont know many actors;) but if they had to be replaced id trust that they would pick the right people to play our beloved characters:D

Well, not to be mean, but just because the cast changes you wouldn't see the movie?

Are you a Spider-man fan or a Tobey and Kirsten fan? I like Tobey, but I'm not gonna stop watching the movies because he's not in it.

We don't want them to be replaced, either. We're just discussing it because after SM3 no one knows who's gonna leave and who's gonna stay. I think Tobey and Kirsten did great in SM2, but they don't want to be known as Peter or MJ forever.

Yeah, true. I like them, but I don't think they could fit the role of Mary Jane Watson. Kirsten's actually done pretty well.

I like Jake in October Sky... It's a great movie. But I just can't see him fitting the role of Spider-Man.

That's a good movie, and Jake did a great job. But, like you said, him as Spider-man dosen't seem right.

Yes, I know, but you have to realize that they may not want to do the same role for five or ten more years. I don't think the movies will be as great, but I still want to see them.

Yes, it would/will. But the cast probably won't want to do this movie forever. Age might become a problem, as might injuries. So, we just have to be open to the change.

Yeah, it would take th new cast members a while to develop into their characters, and that, unfortunately, would show. :(

But, on the bright side, Maguire and Raimi said they'd stay as long as the script and pay is good! :D

i agree, she does look more like comic book MJ than Kristen. i like Kristen, but i also wish they had cast someone with bigger presence and charisma to portray MJ. well, actually, i wish that the character they wrote would've been closer to my image of MJ from the comics (not only physically).

Kristen fit the movie's character, though. the MJ in the movie is a different MJ than the one in the comics.

now that you mention smallville, a while back i thought that John Schneider--the guy who plays jonathan kent (clark's dad)--had similar features to Romita's Peter, when he was younger. He's too old for the part now, but look at him in the Dukes of Hazard's days--only with short brown hair. anyway, i still don't know who could play peter/spidey.
