Kirsten is perfect, this is a tough role and I think that Nikki Coxs' acting is rather bland she's more playboy material than acting, just because she looks like Mary Jane doesn't mean that she'd do a good job portraying her, don't get me wrong I'm sure she's a fine actress but not big screen material.

Kirsten Dunst is a fine actress, and she takes her job very seriously. She'll portray Mary Jane on the big screen just as good as Margo Kidder portrayed Lois Lane in the original Superman.

It's not all about a figure.

Nikki Cox is a HOT little number but she wouldn't be a good choice for Mary Jane Watson. The reason is their is something about her facial features that wouldnt fit the face for MJ. True Nikki does have good "chest packaging" but her legs are too thin (skinny) to be MJ. The choice they picked in Kirsten is good (did you see her with her hair dyed red) after all remember this movie is taking place while she is in high school, MJ always looked good but she got better as she got older and matured more. Kirsten is a professional actress she should be able to portray MJ just fine, lets give her a chance (as she IS playing the role of MJ...no one is going to change that) lets just wait and see how she does when the movie comes out before judging her on her perfomance and portrayel that none of us has even seen yet...

We can only hope the Kirsten Dunst will become too big of a star or demand too much money when the sequel comes around. I'm just really hating Hollywood's force feeding of "safe" casting to please a PG audience. Comics emphasize on the female exterior that the beautiful Nikki Cox possesses. But then of couse Tobey would be of know match for her, and he know's it. Nonetheless I'm sure he'll do somewhat OK as a so-so Peter Parker.

I am not worried about the acting part that will come along.
How about that girl from Will and *Grace* looks the part a whole lot better and she can act by the way thats a really bad come back cant act. When I see Mary Jane Watson I see a tall slender curly hair red head .

Personally, I think if the movie was actually a comic book with live actors posing for the pictures instead of them being hand drawn, Nikki Cox would have been the better choice due to her looks and lack of acting ability.

Since they're making a movie and require competant actors and actresses, I'm betting they weeded her out a long time ago.
