this guy toby i do not know. spider man as been my favorite comic hero since th 80s. i do not by comic books or own any spider man gear. i saw the preview on the big screen and i saw toby, i was like noooooo! he looks like a milk man or a paper boy. hopefully he could act. spider man has always been a struggling comic hero on the screen. i hope toby could pull this off. he just does not look like any kind of hero. no gleam in his eyes, no muscular built. he just does no have the cool tough guy look. i hope toby has skills.

You're thinking about Spidey, not Peter Parker. Peter is supposed to be some wimpy guy and the only reason hes strong is because of that spider bite. Toby fits that role perfectly and hes an okay actor. Besides, he doesnt look too bad in the costume.

The reason you think Toby is too wimpy and not muscular is becaues that's the essence of Peter. He is a nerd and a big geek, but the bite changes all that. The factor that made Spidey so popular in the first place was that he was an everyday man. You or I could have been Spidey. The bite didn't choose Peter because he was good looking or not. He just bit the poor bastard.

Peter Parker is your next door neighbor.

He's not like Clark Kent or Bruce Wayne.

The reason people like Spidey so much is that Peter Parker is such an eveyday guy with everyday problems. Peter Parker is the key to Spider-man.

I guess that is why it makes Spider-man a nice superhero. Taking an ordinary guy and give him powers.. now that is something that a lot of us can identify with... more than the other muscle-bound heroes.
