Uh, I don't think Goodman would make a good Kingpin. And Walken definitely is not Sandman. Sandman is more of a buff dude, but I think Walken is an excellent actor and he would fit in Hobgoblin's shoes. Maybe Goodman could fill the Rhino suit....? hehehehhe Well, at least we got Patrick Stewart to play Professor X!

Vinnie Jones from Lock Stock, Snatch, Swordfish, and Gone in 60 seconds. He has the right...crony-ish...look about him, and a nastiness that qould suit the sandman. As for the kingpin, I say wait and see what they do in Daredevil, or Punisher or whichever of the two he's making an appearance in.

Ok, everybody knows that I am a diehard "stay-true-to-the-comics" movie fan.
That said, they wanted to make the character of the Kingpin very believable. They didn't have any large white guys who could pull it off to their satisfaction I guess. I don't think it was any sort of personal decision. Just maybe showing that they were guilty of stereotyping black people as crimelords. Perhaps they saw New Jack City one too many times.
I thought Michael Clarke Duncan did a great job as the Kingpin. He just doesn't look like the Kingpin we know and love to hate from the comics. It's no different than making the FF movies' Alicia Masters black (like the former Nya-Matt Murdock black woman-white man relationship in Daredevil comics or the affair from The Last King of Scotland or so I have heard - Monster's Ball). Did they think it through to the point that now they have to change the race of the Puppet Master too? Probably not. Should they have left the characters the same race as in the comics? Probably so. Does the movie suffer from it though? No. Unfortunately that's the bottom line.
PS - Just something to think about. It's mainly a whites as the victim line of thought. If they made a Blade movie and had the character be white would there be alot more complaining than about Kingpin being black? Oh hell yes! Is that fair? No.
