"Greetings. I am Professor Charles Xavier. I'd like to thank each of you who has participated in the so-called Arcainite Marvel Civil War game. It has produced some interesting results and at the request of some of the players, the game will continue from where we left off.
But just in case you were interested, according to the original parameters, the Anti-Registration has just achieved victory. We will omit the victory scene and prisoner release so that the game may continue unabeited. But know that you have let the powers-that-be know that things would have turned out very differently if you were in charge.
And now, through the power of Cerebro, we shall see what would have happened if the AMCW simulation did not end with BackinBlack07's achieving victory for his team. What If?...the Civil War raged on? Open your minds now and learn what will happen when despite Strong Guy's best efforts to the contrary against Penance, the Pro-Registration side introduces villains into what was strictly hero vs hero. In theory, these villains are under control thanks to brain inhibitor chips...though just how much control this REALLY gives is quite questionable.
Now that I have set the scene for you, please enjoy Venom vs Wolverine through the scientific wizardry of my mansion's Danger Room and the power of my telepathy."

Well, even if we declare the game over and try to relaunch, we have to worry about several things: Will it be played the same? Will the apathy still be a problem (remember we had people sign up and then I never heard from them) which was unfair to those who actually submitted and had an opponent who didn't? And will the Guides allow us to relaunch knowing that they frown on games on their boards?
Let me make this perfectly clear. I'd like to keep playing OR restart, based on what others want. Can I hear from some other people? I'm feeling neglected over here...

I think the delay is an indicator that the apathy still exists except for a few players like you and SpongeSpider. The Guides have some people scared to even respond (Webrina) because for some reason they think they might get banned. I'm the one that would get in trouble, not them. But I'd rather not get in trouble. The Guides have been kind enough to look the other way because my game has not been as inane and disruptive as some of the other games they've shut down.
When I first came to the boards, the 20 Questions Game thread was still hot and it quickly died when the Guides started voicing their concerns about fan-fiction and for-fun style threads. The addition of Times Square as a peace offering was something of a reversal of their previous interdictions because it gave people a place to talk about non-Spider-Man things. However, they never actually reversed their decision on games. I'd kind of like to hear from a Guide on the matter.
But if we keep going, I'm willing to switch to Pro-Registration side to sort of fill-in when people are not submitting. Sometimes getting people to give you just 5 sentences total is harder than getting them to post a 1000 word essay on Batman Reborn or Deadpool or Playstation games.
Would we still be using arguments if we restart? Because you realize that the Anti-Registration side only lost in the comics because Captain America realized that they had lost the argument even though they were winning the fight. I don't want to repeat the same arguments over and over again though.

If we restart, I'll still be here to play it again. Even though I switched to Anti when I played MUA2, I will still do Pro because there probably won't be many people playing on that side.

SpongeSpider's got Pro. Spazz still Anti? Alien still Anti? BiB still Anti?

Characters will be as they were at the beginning of the Superhuman Registration Act passing into law. So Wolverine is still Pro-Registration, X-Men are still neutral, Thing and Invisible Woman are Pro-Registration, Spider-Man is Pro-Registration, Nighthawk is still Anti-Registration, etc. The ones that change sides will do so only after they have first been on the side they were on first at least once.

One of the good things about my game is that you learn a LOT about the Marvel Universe from playing it. Even I have learned from running it and I already knew quite a lot.

As a compromise to the risk of repeating arguments, I am going to introduce team smash-ups! Every 4th match-up will be a team vs team brawl. No arguments will be made, just fighting. The only ones eligible for team brawl are those who have already submitted their sentences for their single match-up. Communication with your teammates is optional, but you will most likely lose if you don't because you won't be coordinated. It will bring the team dynamic more into focus by actually making you fight as a team.

Due to the mass eliminations team smash-ups will cause, I am going to introduce the "rescue match." The Rescue Match will take place immediately following the team smash-up (Matches 5, 9, 13, 17, etc). It doesn't necessarily have to be a player who was in the team smash-up themself. The winner of the match MUST undo one elimination which in the game would be considered a "successful rescue." The reason I emphasized MUST is that if one side has nobody eliminated to rescue, they have to pick one of their rival team's characters!! However, by winning the match, they can minimize the damage by picking the weaker character. Also, as added incentive, the loser of the rescue match is still eliminated. The other difference between a "rescue match" and a normal match is that no arguments will be required for the rescue match just as none is required for team smash-ups!

The only other change is that I probably won't offer an option for time limit draws or double eliminations. So the only way to get a draw is to actually have a tie in the voting! As before, a character that loses a fight is eliminated, but eliminated characters are eligible for the rescue matches.

1st match-up is going to be Maria Hill with a Capekiller SHIELD unit backing her up (played by SpongeSpider) vs Captain America (Spazzarro). Arguing will be mandatory and then the fight. This fight will be held aboard the SHIELD helicarrier. Remember, if there's not a draw, the loser can still be rescued later on, so don't be afraid to vote against Cap because even if he were to lose, he would still polarize the Anti-Registration heroes into action. Basically, I loved this opening fight of the Civil War and I wanted it to be brought into the game. By giving Maria Hill the SHIELD troops, it gives her even odds to win and by having it aboard the SHIELD helicarrier it really shows how Cap had to overcome great odds to escape in Civil War #1.

Just a slow computer I guess and now it's sort of a moot point, because my monitor power supply stopped working properly yesterday (that's why I wasn't on). I am hoping it's only the power supply anyway because I did one of those tests to see what was wrong and that's my conclusion.
I'm stuck using the library computers until I get a new one or know for sure. Really bites. I have Peter Parker's luck, but without the hot women lol.

Anyway, I've got SpongeSpider's sentences already. Very long-winded but great stuff. Maria Hill was a very unpopular character during the Civil War, but I think during Dark Reign she became more popular because of her taking a stand against Norman Osborn.

Thanks, it was extremely hard to fit all I wrote into two and three sentences, but I think a did a pretty good job. I'm glad that I'm writing Civil War POVs again. It was a long time since I last did one.

Due to my still having some technical issues to work out, I'll get Match 1 up tomorrow. Spider Rider PM'd me back that he would still like to play, but he hasn't responded on the thread. I wanted to make sure of which team he was going to play for. I could assume Pro-Registration again, but you know what assuming makes out of you and me.

IF I get confirmation that Spider Rider is playing Pro-Reg, then Match 2 will be:

Wolverine (Spider Rider) for the Pro side against Namor, the Sub-Mariner (BackinBlack07) for the side of Atlantean justice. They are fighting over who gets to take Nitro into custody!
