Okay the reason i bring this up is not because its Tobey's next movie, but because it is a romance and the biggest issue in the Spider-Man movies is the romance.

It is crucial for their relationship to be believable and likable. It was not as likable as it could have been in SM3. If they fail to fix it in SM4 then they run the risk of a corny wedding, do we want this? Hell no, Tobey's upcoming movie being a romance is a test run. If he does good then we know he's A okay for SM4.

Kirsten is another story altogether.

What do you guys think? Am I wrong to worry about Tobey?

Idk, Spider-Man has no "Raindrops falling on his head" without MJ. Besides, I thought it was confirmed that in SM4 Peter and MJ were not going to get married..

Idk, though it's hard to say. But yeah I can see why you worry for Tobey.

people who work on the movie, Todd Black in specific, gave us a clue who the villian might be and that he had no knowledge of a wedding in 4.

I just saw 8 mile yesterday, and I noticed that Tobey and Eminem have this crazy stare they give off during their performances. It's like, someone crazy is under the baby face and blue eyes. It was pretty funny. If you haven't gotten that feeling from Tobey, you should youtube the trailer to Brothers staring Natalie Portman, Tobey Maguire, and Jake Gyllenhall (<--spell check).

I was surfing the web during my study break, and I found a few pictures of tobey from June of this year. He looks very large and out of shape. I wonder if these pictures are actually new, or if he's really this size now. If he is, I'm wondering if it's for a new role or something. I was confused because he's usually so small. I guess it doesn't matter, just surprising is all.
