I'm not talking about heath ledger or topher grace, am I? No, I'm talking about Jim Carrey. I'd have a tough time taking him seriously, what with all the movies I've seen him in being comedic. Also, there's that tiny little problem, y'know, that being that he looks nothing like Cletus kassady.

* sigh * ....
1. ) i was never even TALKING about him playing carnage. i was talking about how you think he can't do a serious role just because of most of the roles he's played 2. ) looks aren't the most important factor. ACTING is. 3. ) if you STILL don't think he isn't able to do a serious role, go buy eternal sunshine of the spotless mind and watch the trailer for the number 23. THEN we'll talk about how he " can't be taken seriously ".... |

Lets all just agree that carnage will be played by spaghetti most likely in some Venom spin off years from now when sony part with the rights of the character for a large amount of cash. It will suck but offer some cheap entertainment.

I think when he was younger Carrey looked a little like Kasady. Thin face, long jaw... and besides, in the movie it doesn't matter if he looks like the comic version or not.
William Defoe doesn't look much like his comic counterpart. Nor does Harry. |

I really liked Cilian Murphy in batman (and 28 days later) and after seeing him in 28 days later, I would of agreed, but, since he already play scarecrow in batman, i'd stay he out of the running, for me anyway (i know completely different movie, different comic universe (DC) even) but, still
my personal, cast list for people who could pull off Cletus Jake Busey Skeet Ulrich, 2 Matthew Lillard i'll even throw in Vincent Ventresca, (in terms of looks, though he's a bit older) give any of these guy red hair, and there ya go |

That's the problem. He's too big. Carnage isn't particularly muscular, y'know. Venom is. Carnage is not.

to add to my list of possibly Cletus/Carnages
James DeBello http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004867/ (hes mostly only done low budget films and such (like cabin fever) but if given a bigger role I think he might be able to pull in off) like i say with the rest, give him some red hair, and ur good to go lol though right now, I am thinking Skeet Ulrich, 2 is my personal first pick, (for a older Cletus, depending, on what age rang they go for) |

Yeah, Carnage isn't really built. He looks less muscular than SM, but very lean. He shouldn't be played by a bodybuilder.
