Talking Superhero Summer 08 Wrapup!!!

All right guys, so Comic book/Superhero Movie Summer has been officially wrapped up. It's been a hell of a summer for comic book movies, probably the biggest one yet of the decade (no offense Spidey, wish you were here but you had last year.)

So basically lets evaluate how this year went for the movies. We've had:

Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
Wanted
Hancock
Hellboy2: The Golden Army
and The Dark Knight

So:

-Were you happy with this year's superhero flicks?
-How much do you rate each?
-Which was your favorite (probably a no brainer for most but anyway)
-How did this compare to recent years?
-And was it better than years having Spider-Man in the mix?

My personal ratings:

Iron Man: 8.8/10; The Incredible Hulk: 7.7/10; I unfortunately haven't seen Wanted YET; Hancock; 6.5/10; Hellboy 2: The Golden Army: 9/10; and The Dark Knight: 9/10

So I've passed every movie, and I was honestly really satisfied with the year. Expectations were truly met for the most part. What about you???
Remember to include your spoiler tags and let the discussion begin!!!!!!

I have seen only IM, TIH and TDK. I'm crazy to see Wanted, though.
for now...it's the best year for comic book movies.

IM: 9/10
TIH: 8/10
TDK: 11/10

haha i love the 11/10 thing! But same here, 08 is easily the best Superhero Movie year ever, let alone the best year for movies ever in my whole life. Aside from the comic book movies, we also had Indy, which (kill me for saying it is still my favorite movie of the year), Cloverfield, and we have Harry Potter coming up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We also had movies like Get smart, and we have Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder, and Star Wars coming up!!!!!!! couldn't get any better.

I was simply amazed at how undissapointed I was with this year's movies, especially comic book movies, but even MORE surprised at how undissapointed CRITICS WERE. Critics passed EVERY SINGLE COMIC BOOK MOVIE THIS YEAR, except for Hancock which is understandable.

When you look at past years critics have continiously bashed comic book movie after comic book movie. THere has never been a year where ciritcs praised comic book movies so highly. THis has been a phenomenal year for movies.

Iron Man 6/10 (Okay)

The Incredible Hulk 10/10 (awesome)

Wanted 8/10 (great flick)

Hancock 4/10 (I think this vote says it all for me)

Hellboy2: The Golden Army Haven's seen it but I really want to.

The Dark Knight 10/10

Remember, this is all IMO of coarse.
Please don't kill me for not liking Iron Man on Hancock as much as the rest do.

iron man- 7/10

hulk- 5.5/10

hancock- 4/10

hellboy 2- have not seen it yet

dark knight- 10/10

in my opinion this was a great summer for superhero films, but if you remove the dark knight, the year becomes very average. basically this was the year of batman, and any movie that tries to compete with the 3rd installment (cought cought spidey 4) is making a huge mistake.

Your statement that movies shouldn't even come out in the same timeframe as a third Batman film is ridiculous.

not at all. spidey 3 was a failure for the series. it was not horrible, but it diminished the success of the first two movies. how can you say that a movie coming off of spidey 3 can compete with the third in an extremely successful batman series. i am not saying it will make no money, i am just saying it is silly for anyone to think that they can compete with that kind of film.

iron man and dark knight showed that 2 movies can make loads of money in the same summer, even if of the same genre. i just think that 2011 is stacked with avengers, batman 3, and captain america among other films. why would sony every put out spidey 4 in that year? maybe they should learn to plan release dates instead of flying by the seat of their pants....

Iron Man: 8.5/10
A very fun movie with awesome action and acting.
The Incredible Hulk:8/10
Great action and story way better then the original.
Wanted:8/10
Very violent but also very cool and interesting.
Hancock:6/10
Not what I had excepted. If you split the movie in sections it's o.k., but over all it was a mess.
Hellboy2: The Golden Army:Haven't seen yet hoping 8 or higher.
To my surprise I enjoyed Hellboy very much and I hope this one is good too.
The Dark Knight:9.5/10
Amazing movie with great acting, story, basically everything.

To answer all your questions you already have seen how i rated each and also you see which one i liked best now moving on to the other questions.
overall the movies were all good ,i guess, hancock wasn't that good. With out spiderman this summer it was still great i mean i'm always up for something new.

Thumbs up

I think it's too early to tell for favorite moves from best to worst, or vice versa. Not until the end of the year. But this is for the hero movies. But I'm not going to post, mainly because my list is for all movies. Not in categories.

If you've seen just about every comic book movie this year then it's the perfect time to respond, since comic book movies are judt about done for the year, and is done for the summer.

To think of it, we still have one more movie coming from Marvel, and that's Punisher:War Zone. But I'm not sure too many are over-excited about it. I honestly don't give for that movie nor think it's hyped enough to keep the thread from being made.

I'm excited to see Jigsaw and Microchip, two mainstays of the Punisher comics, finally brought to the big screen in the third Punisher movie. The second movie had the Russian, but he's sort of a minor Punisher character usually played for laughs. Jigsaw is pretty much Punisher's arch-nemesis in the comics, because he always seems to survive his defeats and keeps coming back after Frank:
